Summary: Y/n and Charles had broken up a few weeks ago. Y/n thought it was a good idea to enter the yachting world to get over the break up, but suddenly he shows up at the last charter of the season. How will they cope with it? Words: 3018 Part 2
"All crew, all crew, the guests are arriving in ten minutes. Please, change into your polos," the captain said on the radio.
"Copied."
The final charter of Y/n's yachting season was about to start. She and her roommate Bobbie were standing in their cabins, changing into their polos. It was silence; they both were tired and glad this was their last charter.
Y/n was the third stew on this yacht, and Bobbie was the second stew. And you know what they say? They either love or hate each other. This time, they liked each other. However, they had a mixed relationship with their boss, the first stew: Helena.
"Last charter, girl," Bobbie said and put on perfume.
"Last charter," Y/n breathed. "Two more nights, three more days."
The entire crew made their way to the deck. They were standing in a line; Bobbie was holding the plate with the glasses of champagne, and Y/n had the plate with refreshing towels. The captain and chief stew were standing on the dock.
"It's the last one," Otis sang and did a silly dance. "The last, last, last." He was a deckhand.
Everyone laughed and danced along with him.
"I really hope the guests are chill, down to earth, not too demanding," Felix said hopefully, the engineer.
"And otherwise, we make the best of it," Bobbie said.
Six people were walking toward the yacht. The crew quickly peeked at their new guests but couldn't stare. Y/n looked at the group that had now arrived at the captain and chief stew. Her face straightened when she saw who the group was.
"Oh, my god, that is Max Verstappen," Felix whispered; the fanboy was getting exposed now.
"Who?" Otis asked.
"Max Verstappen, the Formula 1 2021 world champion," Felix said.
"I don't watch Formula 1," Otis huffed.
Eyes widened. "Is that Carlos Sainz? And Pierre Gasly?" Bobbie noticed them now.
"And Charles Leclerc," Luca said impressively, he was the bosun.
Charles Leclerc.
Y/n could feel her heartbeat rise, and her lips parted. There is no way that this is happening. Everything around her faded away for a moment. Her mind was blank. She barely knew how to stand up straight anymore, or how to breathe. The sun on her skin made her sweat even more. It is the last one, you can do it. Y/n returned to reality, cleared her throat and put her best fake smile on her face.
"Hello, welcome on board," Luca warmly smiled. "My name is Luca, I'm your bosun."
Max was the first one in the group, making clear he was the primary guest. He introduced himself to everyone and shook their hands. Kelly, his girlfriend and co-primary guest, was walking behind him. Followed by Carlos and his girlfriend, Pierre and...and Charles.
When Charles was standing in front of Y/n, their eyes met. She had not looked in those eyes for six weeks. Those blue-coloured eyes with touches of other more beautiful colours... However, the smile on his lips didn't reach his eyes. To her own experience, this moment took forever, but in reality, it was just a few seconds.
"I'm Y/n; nice to meet you," Y/n smiled. Well, she forced a smile. And it did not feel natural or convincing. She had to stay in her role. "Welcome on board. Would you like to have a refreshing towel?" She was the second to last person in the line.
Pain. She is acting like nothing happened. Charles swallowed hard. "Yes, thank you," he managed to say. He grabbed a towel and moved to the next person. He tried to listen to her words; he filtered her name: Bobbie. She offered him a glass of champagne. "Thank you, I'm Charles."
The captain was explaining a few things about the yacht. The guests were looking at Y/n, they knew her. And Y/n knew them personally. Y/n looked away from everyone, she could feel the judgy looks. Nobody knew she was here, doing this job. She went off the radar six weeks ago. They all looked back at the captain and first stew when they announced the yacht tour would begin.
Everyone but the captain and first stew walked off the boat to get the guest's luggage.
"I really cannot believe we have F1 drivers as guests," Felix cried. "I cannot believe that they shook my hand."
"Dude, chill," Otis smirked.
"I think they will be chill," Bobbie said. "They look chill and give off a relaxing vibe."
Felix grabbed a suitcase and a backpack. "Do you watch F1, Y/n?" He gave the two pieces to her.
The crew developed a thing during the season: adding Y/n's name at the end of every sentence meant for her.
"No, I don't, and I won't," she coldly replied and walked back on the boat with the luggage.
Oh, my, I can't wait for the moment they walk off this boat. She dragged the luggage down to the guest bedrooms. Everyone was so hyped to serve the drivers, but Y/n only wanted to cry.
"What is the room division?" Y/n asked Luca.
"Master is Max and Kelly, left is Carlos and Rebecca, and right is Pierre and Charles." Luca stepped toward her to check the labels. "You have Charles his luggage. You have to go to the right, Y/n."
You've got to be kidding me. "Perfect," she replied and opened the right cabin door. On the preference sheets, they requested to unpack their luggage, but Y/n knew Charles hated it when people touched his stuff. She bit her lip and placed his backpack on the chair. For a moment, she looked at it. It was just a black backpack, it was simple, and somehow she adored it a lot. "Fuck," Y/n whispered and took a deep breath. She stepped away from his suitcase and lifted it to be placed on the luggage chair. The only thing she did was open his suitcase.
"Oh, o, I'm sorry."
Y/n turned around, and she gasped for air. "My goodness, Pierre. You scared me," she whispered.
"Sorry," he whispered back. "I had no idea that you worked on a yacht now." The Frenchman entered the room. "How are you doing?"
"I'm fine," she softly said. Pierre stepped towards her and gave her a hug; he was not only a good friend of Charles, but also a good friend of Y/n. "How are you?"
"Good, I'm good, now I know where my friend hangs out."
She weakly smiled.
"Is everything good in here?" Helena entered the cabin with Pierre's luggage. The fake smile appeared on her face, but she looked judgemental at her stew.
Pierre smiled. "Yes, absolutely. I was asking Bobbie to help me with unpacking my suitcase." He pointed at Y/n.
Helena slowly nodded. "Perfect. Y/n, can you help me at the bar if you're done unpacking the suitcase?" She put the accent on 'Y/n'.
It made Pierre chuckle.
"Yes, absolutely." Then Y/n realised she answered the exact same as Pierre. Helena walked away. "Bobbie? Seriously, Pierre?" She wanted to grab his suitcase, but he was first.
"Neh, neh, neh, you're not doing this. I can do it myself," he said and closed the door behind him. "You sit, I talk, you listen," he said and opened his suitcase. "And I had to say a your name wrong, I don't know you."
"Oh, god." Y/n sat down on the free chair. She looked at Pierre. An empty feeling entered her body. "I don't know if I can do it, Pierre," she hopelessly said.
"Then don't pay attention to him."
"How?" She shot back. "Did you know how hard it was to not burst into tears when I saw it were you all who came? Pierre, I'm not ready to face him yet."
"And what do you want to do now? You can't walk away, we're already sailing away."
Y/n groaned, annoyed.
"But Y/n, why did you go off the radar? I was worried."
"Yachting," Y/n simply replied. "Working my arse off." She got up; it didn't feel right to be in a room and doing nothing. "I barely have time to keep up with everything. On my breaks, I do a power nap. On days off, I'm just enjoying my free time-" She got cut off by a radio message for her. She replied straight away. "I gotta go, we will speak later."
"Yes, of course. I'm happy to see that you're doing fine, Y/n," Pierre mentioned. "This is something I do not have to worry about anymore."
Her fingers were wrapped around the doorknob, she only smiled weakly. She opened the door. "And, Pierre?"
"Yes?"
"Please don't be like shit, we can't handle more shit guests anymore," Y/n whispered and squinted her eyes.
Pierre grinned. "It really depends on how we get treated."
"Get out of here." She rolled her eyes and closed the door behind her. It did her good to see Pierre again, but it was not how she would have liked. Someone wanted to walk down the stairs when she wanted to walk up the stairs. "You go first," she politely smiled.
Charles walked down the stairs, slowly. His eyes were glued on Y/n. The salmon orange-coloured shirt highlighted her tanned skin tone. However, it seemed like she had lost some weight. His lips parted. "Sorry, I didn't know you worked here, Y/n," he whispered.
Her eyes closed for a second or two; the way how he says it will never tire me. "I...is...is everything to your liking?" If Y/n left her role to him, things would escalate.
"Yes." Charles had to switch between being informal to formal. It hurt him, but if this was what she wanted... "It's perfect."
"Perfect. If there is anything that we can do for you, please don't hesitate to say it."
"I will, thank you."
And away she went. Y/n ran up the stairs and faced Helena at the bar. "I will be back in a sec; I have to change into my work clothes," she smiled and walked to the crew mess.
The smile dropped from her face, and she stormed to her own cabin. She closed the door behind her and balled her hands into fists. "Fucking hell," she breathed and felt the tears flowing in her eyes.
--
Y/n yawned when she walked up the stairs. It was seven o'clock in the morning, and her day shift had just started. It was the second day of the last charter. She was about to check the bar, but she noticed two people outside in the lounge. I hate morning people. This is not a pleasant way to start the day.
She walked to the lounge. "Hello," Y/n smiled.
"Hello, darling," Rebecca warmly smiled.
"Good morning," Carlos smiled.
"God, you're early," Y/n softly said, breaking the character for a second, regretting it already.
Carlos smirked. "You know us."
"Yeah, that is true. Is there anything I can get you?"
"I'm fine; I'm just enjoying the sunrise," Rebecca said.
Carlos nodded. "I'm fine too."
"Perfect. If there is anything that you want, just give me a shout. Will the breakfast still be at ten?" Y/n felt uncomfortable; she was serving her friends. And it usually would not matter, but this is the top-of-the-top service she had to give.
He nodded again. When Y/n stepped away, he inhaled. "Y/n, how are you doing?"
"I'm alright, busy with work. How about you?"
"Happy to have a weekend off," Carlos answered her question.
"I had no idea you worked on a yacht now," Rebecca admitted. "Do you like it?"
Y/n looked around. Yes, her job was to entertain the guests and be polite. But to a certain point. Being personal was crossing the line. But it were her friends. However, how much would it affect her tip at the end? That was why she entered the yachting world. "Yeah, I had no idea that I would end up here," Y/n also admitted. "But you know, it's something else, and I think it's fine for now." And it is quick and much money.
"How many more days do you have left?"
"This is the last charter."
It was silence.
"Gosh, I miss you, girl. It's so hard to not act like friends," Rebecca breathed and pressed her lips into a thin line. "Because I can see how you distance yourself from us."
There goes the tip for the crew.
"I'm sorry. It's just... I don't want them to know that I know you. So I'm sorry if I act like a cold bitch, but I... They can't know," Y/n stammered and swallowed hard. "Because I want to laugh with you, talk to you like we used to, but if I do, I will get in trouble for being too personal and crossing so many lines."
Rebecca got up from the lounge. "I know, I know," she said and hugged Y/n.
"I miss you so much," Y/n whispered, hurt. "Seeing you again, makes me so happy."
"When you're finished here, we need to go out, okay?" She looked at her friend when letting go of her.
"Yes."
Felix was walking around the boat, checking if everything was looking decent. "Good morning," he said. One of the guests was sitting on the lounge, and the other was standing next to Y/n. "Is everything okay here?"
"Yes, thank you," Carlos smiled.
Y/n forced a smile on her face. "I'm talking Rebecca and Carlos through the planned schedule for today," she said to her colleague. "Everything is still going as planned." Felix nodded, satisfied and walked away. "At the picnic... I heard that more people were joining you?"
"Lando, George, Alex and Daniel are joining with their girlfriends," Rebecca mentioned. "Are you coming too, or will that not be on your service? Or do we have to ask if you will join us? You're one of us, you have to be there. This was your idea." Y/n joked about booking a yacht with a beach picnic a couple of months ago, only because she watched Below Deck.
And they actually booked it. The realisation hit Y/n. This was her idea, and she couldn't even join them. Well, on the other side. "I was one of you," Y/n replied. "And I can't join you. I am working. I won't be able to lunch with you."
"You will, we will make something up. And yes, Charles will be there. But you don't have to hug or kiss him. We will make sure you will be sitting on the complete opposite of him, yes?"
--
"I am so glad that this is the last picnic," Bobbie breathed and placed some plates on the table. "I fucking hate picnics, especially on the beach. It looks so nice when you can just sit on your butt and eat. But it is a pain in the arse when you have to make it look so nice. I mean, the sun is breaking me apart, there's sand everywhere, nothing is stable," she complained.
Y/n smiled, but bit her lip to hide it. She placed the cutlery next to the plates and only listened.
"I'm sorry for my complaining hour, but now we can talk without other people hearing it," Bobbie mumbled.
"No, no, please, share everything you want. I'll just listen," Y/n replied and softly chuckled. "Because I can only agree with you."
"And you know what I heard? Helena was talking to Otis in the crew mess - she didn't know that I was in the laundry room - and she literally said: 'Since the moment the guests have arrived, I have not heard Y/n's name once. Not once. Do they even know that we have a third stew? I am working my arse off, and she gets to do nothing.'," Bobbie dramatically said, and she looked sorry at Y/n.
Y/n stopped placing the cutlery on the table. "What? Is she serious?"
"That is what I heard..."
This could either be the truth or a lie to create drama. "I work my arse off, she is the one who does nothing. She only makes out with Otis and lets us do the work. She can kiss my arse. Whatever. Just one more day and it is over," Y/n defended herself. "I'm starting to move to the dislike side. I liked Helena at first, but she's doing weird things and blaming us for it."
"I stopped liking her after the first charter when she screwed me over by saying that the master was not cleaned yet. That was her job, it was even on the board. And suddenly, it was my job without saying shit to me," Bobbie ranted. "She can suck my dick."
The radio went off. "Bobbie and Y/n, the guests are on their way."
Bobbie grabbed her transceiver. "Perfect, thank you," she friendly said.
Y/n burst into laughter and continued putting the cutlery on the table. "You're such a snake."
"Learnt from the best," Bobbie proudly said.
"Sassy."
Fifteen minutes later, the table was all set, and the guests arrived. Bobbie quickly took a photo of the table while Y/n walked over to the tender to help the guests out of the tender.
"Thank you, Y/n," Max smiled.
She gave him a nod and helped Kelly, who was also getting help from Kelly. She was followed by Rebecca, Carlos and Pierre. Y/n looked at Charles and stuck out her hand. She could see the doubt in his eyes, but he grabbed her hand anyway. She gasped for air and saw every memory she had of him, playing in front of her eyes. And it looked like Charles had it too.
Charles looked away and jumped out of the tender into the water. "Thank you, Y/n/n," he softly said and let go of her hand.
"Anytime," she lipped and swallowed hard.
It had been just over 24 hours, and she barely had seen Charles. He was avoiding every contact moment between himself and his ex-girlfriend. Y/n noticed it, it hurt, but it was for the best. She looked down and closed her eyes; she just wanted to walk further into the sea and drown.
"The other tender is arriving, Y/n," Luca said.
Y/n opened her eyes and looked up at the bosun. "Thank you, Luca. I will let you know when they want to go back," she said and padded the tender a couple of times.
"Copied."
She waved at him when he sailed away. Her eyes fell on the other tender, and she put on another smile. Y/n stepped to it. "Welcome, everyone."
"Y/n!" Carmen excitedly said, but straightened her face right away. "Oh, my god, sorry. I don't know you," she apologised. Rebecca had asked the others to pretend not to know Y/n, only to protect her from her colleagues.
"It's okay, darling," Y/n said and smiled comfortably. Once again, she helped everyone get off the tender, and she made an agreement with their bosun. "I will call you," she mentioned. He nodded and sailed away as well.
The beach picnic started.
It was fake. Her smile was fake. Her laugh was fake. It seemed like her happiness was fake as well. Charles couldn't keep his eyes off Y/n. It was so incredibly hard to be around her. How she was pretending nothing had happened. But she probably had to do that because of her work, but still. It hurt him to see her smile at him. It hurt him how she would serve him drinks without any problem while he was freaking out on the inside.
"Is everything to your liking?" Bobbie asked and looked around.
Multiple nods and yeses were shared.
"Amazing..."
Y/n walked away from the table and let Bobbie do her thing with talking. She grabbed a bottle of water and took a sip. Her eyes were resting on the table. I should have been there as well...
...because I am still in love with my ex-boyfriend. I tried to forget him during my six weeks of yachting, but I can't stop thinking about him. I can't get over him because I am still connected to him. We were together for four years, and he was my first real love.
And we broke up because we thought it didn't work anymore.
We thought...
Stupid thought.
Seeing them all together feels like a reminder that everyone has moved on. That he had moved on. I feel ashamed of myself for feeling this way. I need to move on too. But I can't move on because Charles still occupies so much space in my head. It is really starting to annoy me and affect my life. I can't see a way to move on because every time I try to move on, he is still in my head, telling me that I'll not be happy with someone else. This terrifies me because I know it is true.
He was my first love, and he is my only love.
What am I meant to do now? I'm 24 years old, and my life feels so unfinished already. It's so difficult when everyone is moving on, and I am just stuck in the same place.
"Hello, Y/n?" Bobbie was waving in front of Y/n's eyes. "Are you here with me?"
A shock went through Y/n's body, and she looked at Bobbie. "What? Yes, why?"
"You're crying?" Bobbie squeezed her eyebrows together and looked worried. "Are you okay?"
Y/n felt her cheeks; they were wet. Her heart dropped. She dried her cheeks quickly and forced a smile on her face. "Sand in my eyes, no worries," she smiled.
"If you say so..."
"I say so." Y/n cleared her throat and looked at the table again. Her eyes got stuck on one person. Their eyes were locked. All the air got sucked out of her lungs.
Charles saw it. All of it.

note: ENJOY, i kinda love this but let me know what you think - i am getting to requests but this popped into my head and i had to write it before i forgot
Miami gp looks ‘24 1/3
Monaco GP looks ‘24 2/3
A/N: Hello beautiful people, this was requested so I hope you’ll like this… It took time to write this because I was very busy with my studies. English isn’t my first language, so there might be mistakes… :)
Word Count: 2.739
Warnings: No use of Y/N, jealous reader, none Mike is just so puppy..
Request: Hello!! everything is fine? If you're taking requests, could you write something for Mike Ross where the lady is jealous of him and Rachel?
He was too gentle. Well, Mike Ross was too gentle whenever he was around you. He would bring you coffee, helps you when you struggle or shows his gratitude whenever you bring him something he needs.
You two worked great together… a good pair. Even buddies. Your desks were next to each other in the bullpen. You worked late nights together if Jessica needed something, or Harvey etc.
You were so drawn to him. You could feel when he entered the bullpen, you were so aware of his presence… it drove you mad.
But what you could say? He was just so sweet. Cares his loved ones. He cared about you too. You two joked about anything. How Louis is like in love with Harvey or how you and he joked about past experiences.
It was good to have someone in the firm, that actually cared about your wellbeing. Surely, you had friends in the firm but since you were an associate, there were always rivalries. However it was different with Mike. Of course, since he was Harvey’s associate, it had its perks but you two made out as friends.
It didn’t slip from his attention that you were also fond of movies which he loved to quote on. You teased him lightly from time to time, which he felt flustered.
The worse part is that you were, uncontrollably, falling in love with him. As each day passed, you heard his laugh, his jokes or his caring nature, you found yourself falling in love with the very man you shouldn’t. Your friend Mike. Mike Ross… the guy that had a photographic memory.
You walked to the bullpen that day, as Louis asked your presence earlier in the morning. Said he wanted you to work on a file for him... Which you happily obliged to.
You began to research for the file, as you were deep in the work, seated in the library, alone at the eleven p.m. you didn’t realize because you were wearing headphones- listening to something soft rock, Rachel and Mike entered inside the library. With boxes in their hands. They put it in the nearest desk, as Rachel giggled at Mike. You slowly lowered the headphones as you saw the scene unfold.
Mike was looking at her too sweetly. It made your stomach turn, as he turned his head to left and glanced around, he saw you. His smirk widened as he waved a hand to you. As you found yourself returning the gesture, Rachel’s head turned to you as she smiled softly.
Well, she was beautiful. Of course, she was kind. Intelligent and very caring. She looked good next to him, when the thought crossed your mind you wanted to throw up.
Green wasn’t your best color, envy didn’t suit you. But in that night, when you turned your attention back to your work, your face fell.
It was slightly a torture, when you heard their playful banter. Since you were wearing headphones, they talked freely. The missing part was that you were eavesdropping. Which you hated yourself for it.
They talked casually, very smoothly. Light jokes went on, while they talked about what to do about the case. You wanted the cause of his chuckle, not her.
Next day when you entered the firm, you had a bad morning. You were running late, you forgot your car keys inside and your stomach growled because of skipping breakfast. It was horrible.
But you secretly hoped to see him. His ocean blue eyes, his warm smile and sassy comments…You needed it.
Just when you turned around the corner and was about to head to bullpen, you saw Rachel’s office. You couldn’t help but your gaze fell on it. Rachel was inside, she leaned her back on her desk, as Mike was in front of her, talking about something whilst they stood too close for their own good. You let out a wary sigh as you stepped up and walked to bullpen.
You were seated in your desk, as you opened the computer as you pulled the files out of your bag as you registered his presence. He walked to your desk, as he slowly sat on the edge of your desk like he owned it or something. “Hey,” He said lightly but you didn’t match his gaze.
“You alright? You look terrible.” He commented playfully as you realized he tried to lighten up you, but it backfired. “I’m busy.” Your voice sounded too dismissive, too cold which caught him off guard. You couldn’t look at his frowned face, his light brown brows furrowed slightly as he tried to understand what was wrong.
Then Louis called his name. “I’ll see you later,” He said as he got up from your desk, you let out a sigh. You felt guilty for a moment as you watched his back. His retreating figure.
-
It was an exhausting day. Louis let out his frustration out of you, you didn’t eat any lunch because of paperworks also, you went to court to give Louis the arrangement papers. It was tiring, exhausting.
You were too tired to even deal with Mike. As you saw his figure entering the bullpen, he watched you quietly. “What is it?” You asked quietly without lifting your gaze to meet his eyes. He hesitated then he spoke. “Well, I was afraid that if I open my mouth, you would punch my face.” As he said bluntly, you couldn’t help but smirked at his words.
Then you lifted your face and met his gaze. He looked tired too. “I didn’t want to sound mean today.” You apologized lightly as he smiled. “It is okay, heard Louis gave you a hard time today.” He said softly as he stepped closer to you.
Suddenly you felt his cologne too much. It was too intoxicating, too intense which you leaned back in your chair. You two were the only ones in the bullpen so you could talk freely. As you nodded silently, he rolled his eyes. “He is a prick,” Mike said defensively. It earned a chuckle from you… “He is emotional.” You commented firmly.
As you slowly got up, your stomach growled which you felt your cheeks heated up immediately. Mike noticed it. “Shit, when’s the last time you eat?” He asked curiously as a slight concern etched onto his face. You brushed it off immediately, trying to sound nonchalant. “Well, I couldn’t eat much today.”
Mike looked at you with worry. It was cute actually. The way concern was etched into his face, it was visible as how his eyes crinkled, his brows furrowed and his thin lips crossed into a thin line… “Come on, let’s grab a dinner.” He said quickly as he got up. You were left speechless for a second as you registered what he said.
Of course, it was a friendly gesture. Nothing more… Oh but how you wanted it so badly to be more than friendly… You found yourself agreeing on it, however the universe had other plans.
Rachel entered the bullpen as she greeted you two. She said she found a report Mike was asking for, so with an apologetic response, Mike followed after Rachel.
Great, it was off.
A week passed after that. You and Mike could barely spoke. He was with Harvey most of the time and you were with Louis and other associates. You went into courts under Louis’s supervision. Mike was working on a Coastal Motors case with Harvey…
But it was brought to your attention that how he began to closer with Rachel. You didn’t like it… The lingering touches on Rachel’s arm, whispering something funny to Rachel. You hated it.
You missed him and you haven’t talk to him. It was unfair. How he seemed like he forgot about you. You felt invisible as you felt your heart ached at the thought.
So you ignored it till you explode. You just ignored it. The feelings, fear of rejection, insecurity, jealousy and Mike. You ignored everything.
He saw it.
You didn’t realize it. However, Mike was a good observer. You didn’t know how he watched you. How his gaze lingered on you for a few more minutes. How his frown softened when you pass by. But he didn’t understand. Why were you so distant? Did he do something wrong? Did he offend you?
You were avoiding him and he knew it. God, he hated it. The way you pulled your gaze away from him too quickly or when he walks into the bullpen, you grab files and walked out of the bullpen… He was trying to understand what was wrong but you gave no clues.
So he went to Rachel. He asked her about you. He asked her about how you seemed distant and dismissive. He wanted to reach you by himself but he felt anxious. So, he just asked Rachel if she knew something he didn’t. It was no luck, he learned nothing.
Then one day, when he was in Rachel’s office, as she leaned to her desk- he was in front of her because he didn’t want anyone to hear it. They talked about you. Rachel hinted Mike that maybe you had a crush on him.
When he heard Rachel’s implication, his heart beat too fast. From the first day, he asked your admission for a case and you two worked together, he felt bubbly inside. You were mesmerizing, sweet and unique. Your taste in movies, your interests was too similar to his. He grew close to you too quick.
He loved to see your face lighten up. He loved to bring you coffee in the mornings whenever he can. He adored your smile so he always made jokes around you to see your smile. It was addictive. You were so warm, you felt so close and safe. He loved to be in your zone. He felt safe and happy.
He felt like himself. Not a fraud. He felt like Mike, sweet Mike.
It didn’t take long for him to realize that he had feelings for you. More than friendship. He craved your touch, your attention.
But when you ignored him, avoided his presence… his heart ached. Like you were putting a knife on his chest. So, he asked Rachel. He needed her advice.
Mike walked out on the firm as he intended to grab a quick lunch at somewhere close to firm. When he saw you outside, as you were walking alone while you had your phone in hand, he approached to you.
Then as you were walking to cross the street, you didn’t see the car that was moving on the road. You heard your name called loudly and as you lifted your head up in confusion, you felt pair of hands grabbed you by your waist.
As the hands pulled you back to the sidewalk, you felt shocked and worried. When you turned your head away, you saw Mike. He saved you from getting hit by a car. When you looked at his face, you saw how worried and tense he looked. “Are you alright?” As he asked you worryingly, you nodded in shock. “I’m okay, I’m okay I-“ You registered too late about what was going to happen. You felt shiver ran down your spine.
“You should’ve been careful, you could’ve been hit by a-“ When you heard Mike’s tense voice, you interrupted him. “It is okay, nothing happened.” You tried to reassure him but he felt too worried for you.
You or neither he acknowledged that he was still holding your hips. He was holding you tightly as if his hold loosens he felt afraid that you might slip away. As the shock passed over, you felt his grip on your waist.
Your cheeks flushed slightly as you looked at him. Then he realized it too, he immediately let go of his grip on your hips as he shoved his hands into his pockets. “I’m sorry-“ He said softly.
Your heart raced too fast for its own good. “It is alright,” You managed to say. “Uh,” Mike opened his mouth as he wanted to say something but he shut it off immediately. You looked at him confusedly as you waited for him to speak in anticipation.
He closed his eyes briefly as he paused. Then he pinched the bridge of his nose as he looked at you nervously. “Why are you avoiding me?” He asked the question you didn’t want to hear. You opened your mouth to protest but he quickly intervened. “No, you are ignoring me and I want to know why.” He was stubborn for his own good.
“Mike, I- I don’t-“ As you began to say it, he interrupted it again. “Bullshit, you know it.” His expression looked hurt, if you saw it correctly, he looked sad. You felt your stomach twist as a wave of guilt washed over you. It was overwhelming.
“I was just-“ You found yourself saying the words but you paused. You couldn’t continue your sentence. It was too risky, you couldn’t lose him. It would be painful. However, as you met his eyes, all of your worries died down for a moment. He looked at you deeply, curiously.
“I was jealous, okay?” You lashed out on him. You didn’t intend to but his deep gaze, his interaction with Rachel it was confusing you. It was messing with your head.
He frowned slightly as he tried to register what you said. Why were you jealous? Why? “I don’t…” As he began to say it, you interrupted him this time. “You don’t understand do you?” You said as you stepped back. Wanting to create some distance with him, however it failed as he took a step forward to you. “Tell me, why?” He asked curiously.
“What’s up between you and Rachel? You two seemed too close.” You said with an underlying allusion in your voice. His eyes widened as he heard your words. He felt confused. “What?” Then he realized why you acted like this. A huge grin plastered on his face as he looked at you sweetly.
You felt annoyed and confused as he looked at you sweetly. “Why are you looking happy?” You asked with a frown on your face. Then he took another step as the distance between you faded. He was so close.
He was so close to you. You could hear his scent faintly. When he lifted your chin up, you felt shocked. “Let me tell you something,” He began as you listened him. Your heart was basically beating in your throat as you felt your mouth dry. “Rachel and I… there is nothing between us.” He said quietly.
“There isn’t?” You gulped as you asked him. Your voice faltered as he leaned to you. “No, there isn’t.” He said firmly. “Mike… I-“ You paused briefly as you searched his eyes for anything containing lie. But you found none, he was telling the truth.
“I like you.” You spilled it out then. You couldn’t keep it to yourself anymore. No matter what, you wanted him to hear it. As he registered your words, a huge smile formed on his lips. “You like me?” He asked softly and when you nodded it, he didn’t waste another time to connect your lips in a tender kiss.
When you felt his lips on yours, it felt so sweet. He was very gentle, his lips tasted like heaven. You were too lost in it. However you pulled away slightly as you felt breathless, you panted and you watched him. His cheeks were flushed. “I like you too, sweetheart. More than you can imagine.”
As you heard his words, this time, you kissed his lips. It was more passionate than the first kiss. It was intense and deep. He kissed you with equal fervor. It felt amazing. You felt like fireworks were flying inside your stomach as his lips moved with yours…
After you two parted away, he grabbed your waist and gently pulled you closer to himself, as he chuckled lightly. “You are gorgeous.” He said softly.
As you were in his arms, secured by his touch, you felt all bubbly inside. It felt too good to be true. But there it was, he was in front of you, kissing your lips softly. “So, you wanna grab a lunch?” He said enthusiastically. “Oh, I would love to,” You replied with the same sheepishness.

Author's note: Quite happy with this series. Another series produced out of my love for another niche of mine. I will probably add more drabbles when I feel inspired again but this story is complete!
I have kept pretty much everything private with what I think about Williams and them dropping Logan mid season, but now Im ready to share my thoughts publicly..
In my opinion, William were looking for any and every reason to drop Logan after promising him his last 10 races in Formula One because if they were originally gonna drop him, they would’ve done it in the summer break. So doing it now makes complete and absolute no sense, also to drop him for a complete rookie with literally almost next to non-testing time in an F1 car just absolute madness and they did it all for one big fat check from a sponsor that they just announced today and that sponsor is said to be paying for Franco seat in the sums of millions of dollars for the last 9 races and the fact that Williams were probably planning this for months because you know contract negotiations with sponsors don’t happen just within three days is sickening. So essentially they brought on one big huge pay driver because Williams and vowels is greedy for money besides was Logan’s more than 30 million a year in sponsorships not enough to satisfy them? Also what happens when Franco eventually crashes the car because he is a rookie and is not used to driving that shit box of a car.
Also, this whole situation is super sad for Logan because now you have Oscar and Alex saying that he never truly got to show his full potential in F1 and they won’t say the reasons why they’re just saying he never got to show his full potential and what he fully capable of as a driver and that he does have the raw pace to be in f1 and that whatever he does next he will be amazing at. Also, it’s been rumored that Logan was only told on Tuesday that he would be dropped so this whole situation with Williams and the way that they’ve handled it publicly by not even giving him a proper goodbye post or a proper anything it’s just sickening. I for one will never be a fan of them again. They have tainted their image for me at least.
There were so many ways that this whole situation could’ve been handled, but from the very beginning of the season, Logan was never given the chance, he was never handled properly by his own team and he was always put on the back pedal and mistreated. Also this decision to sub out Logan midseason definitely feels like a personal one from vowels because it was very obvious he never liked Logan.

Over the past few days, the house had surprisingly settled into a somewhat peaceful atmosphere. Oscar has been relatively quiet, minding his own business. His sisters though? It was quite the opposite.
Hattie and Edie had attempted to bake cookies, coming worryingly close to starting a kitchen fire. May has been peaceful (at least), spending most of her time with Y/n in the garden or by the pool.
Now Y/n sits comfortably with a book in hand, her eyes scanning the pages of "Call It What You Want" By Alissa DeRogatis through her sunglasses.
As she continues with her book, enjoying the quiet morning, she's surprised when Oscar suddenly emerges from the house and steps into their backyard. Wearing a tight shirt designed for swimming, he moves purposefully towards the pool area.
Y/n's gaze drifts towards the door, drawn by Oscar's unexpected appearance. Unintentionally, her eyes linger on his figure a bit longer than usual, taking in how the swimwear hugs his chest. However, her subtle gaze remains unnoticed, masked by her sunglasses in the bright golden light.
Oscar makes his way to the lounging chairs near where Y/n is sitting. He casually lays down his towel and phone on one of the chairs, situating it far enough from Y/n to not feel like he's encroaching on her space but still maintaining a modest distance
As he positions his towel and phone on the lounging chair, he approaches the edge of the pool, Without warning, he dives into the water, causing a moderate splash as he plunges beneath the surface.
A few droplets from the splash reach Y/n's feet, nearly wetting her book in the process. Startled, she instinctively pulls her book away to protect it from the water
"What the hell?!" I shout, holding my book close to my chest, and directing my gaze to the swimming pool.
I sit up straight in my chair, glaring at Oscar as he emerges from the pool, droplets of water trickling down his skin.
The sight of him almost makes me blush. Almost.
"You could give me a warning before you decide to water the entire fucking garden, you know!" I yell, walking up to the edge of the pool "You almost got my book wet!"
Oscar, still in the pool, looks up at me, his eyes meeting mine. He runs his hands through his hair. "Oh relax," he retorts, his face painted with annoyance. "It's just water. Didn't know you were that sensitive about a little splash."
My annoyance only intensifies at his response. I roll my eyes, my lips curling into a frown. "Oh, right, sorry for being 'sensitive' about my stuff," I reply. "You know some people actually value their belongings and don't want them ruined by careless splashes."
Oscar grins at me, resting his arms on the stone beside where I stood, and responds with some sass, "Well, why would you read next to the pool anyways? It's common sense that water has a tendency to splash, you know."
I glare at him for his comment, my annoyance growing with each passing second. "Maybe because I thought I could have a peaceful moment to myself without somebody deciding to splash their way into it." I half-scream, my voice filled with sarcasm. "Ever thought of that, Oscar? Or is common courtesy too much to ask from you?"
He raises an eyebrow, clearly enjoying the banter. "Oh, I didn't realize reading by the pool required a peaceful, splash-free environment," he replies, a hint of mockery in his tone. "Next time, I'll make sure to give you a detailed report on my swim routine in advance, just to be safe."
My teeth grit in frustration, my frustration continuing to grow. "You know, you don't have to be such a dickhead all the time," I retaliate. "Seriously, a little warning wouldn't kill you. But apparently, common decency is a foreign concept to you."
Oscar playfully feigns innocence, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Oh, I apologize, my dear Y/n," he says, his tone mocking. "I didn't realize I was in the presence of someone so easily flustered by a few droplets of water. My apologies for interrupting your oh-so peaceful reading session with my mere existence."
I roll my eyes once more, my patience wearing thin. "And you wonder why I don't enjoy your company," I reply dryly. "You have the tact of a bull in a china shop, you know that? A little decency, a little thoughtfulness, that's all I ask for. But I guess that's too much for you to handle."
Oscar, who is apparently unfazed by my remarks, merely chuckles at my words. "Oh come on, lighten up." he smiles, a hint of amusement in his voice. "You're acting like I committed a crime or something. Trust me, life's too short to be so uptight about a little water. Relax a bit, will you?"
Y/n having had enough of Oscar's attitude, grits her teeth and decides to retreat inside. She quickly gathers her belongings, and with a final glare at Oscar, she turns and walks back into the house, slamming the doors behind her.
Once inside, Y/n finds May waiting nearby on the couch, who heard the sound of the door slamming. May looks at her with concern and asks, "Hey, what's going on? What happened out there?"
Y/n lets out a frustrated sigh, clearly still upset about the interaction. "Oh, it's just Oscar being his usual insufferable self," she huffs. "He decided that diving into the pool and nearly drowning my book was a good way to start the morning."
May listens intently, her expression displaying a mix of annoyance and understanding. "Sounds like a typical Oscar moment," she says while smiling at her phone. "He has a talent for getting under people's skin, doesn't he?"
Y/n lets out a defeated sigh, walking over to the couch and sitting beside May. "Sorry for saying that about Oscar- I know that he's your brother and stuff but he's really pissing me off."
May gives an empathetic nod, understanding Y/n's frustration. "Yeah, no worries," she replies. "I get it. He can be a handful, I don't blame you for getting worked up over him. Trust me- I've had my fair share of moments where I wanted to strangle him."
Y/n lets out another sigh, her irritation still evident in her voice. "I just don't understand why he has to be so... Oscar all the time," she says, her tone laced with frustration yet again. "It's like he takes pleasure in being a pain in the ass."
May chuckles softly, knowing exactly what Y/n means. "Oh, believe me, I get it," she affirms. "He lives for those moments where he can push people's buttons. It's like his favorite pastime or something. I can hardly believe he's even related to me sometimes."
"Yeah," Y/n laughs dryly, "But what do I do now? I lost any and all motivation to keep reading."
May listens, understanding her friend's struggle. "Ah, that sucks," she sympathizes. "it's never fun losing motivation to read. Maybe we can watch a movie?"
May's face lights up with excitement at the idea. "You know what?" she suggests. "We should totally watch some rom-coms or something."
Y/n's interest was piqued, and she considers the proposal. "That actually sounds like a good idea," she admits, a hint of intrigue in her voice. "What movie do you wanna watch?"
"The Notebook maybe? I haven't watched that in a while." May says grabbing a pillow. Y/n hums, "Sure, let me get some drinks first. Do you want water or iced tea?"
"It's fine, go get your drink and I'll find the movie on the TV," May says, shoo-ing Y/n in a friendly way.
I walk back into the living room, a water bottle filled with water in one hand and a bowl of popcorn in the other. "Sorry if I took a while," I apologize, "I had to find a bowl for the popcorn."
I take a seat beside May, "It's alright," she says, taking a handful of popcorn from the bowl. "Play the movie," I say adjusting myself on the couch.
"Okay, okay, calm down lady." May teases, reaching for the remote and starts playing the movie, the sound of the opening credits filling the living room.
After the tear-inducing finale of "The Notebook" finally credits roll, Y/n and May find themselves wrapped in each other embrace, tears streaming down their faces. Sniffles fill the room as both girls are visibly touched by the emotional rollercoaster ride of the movie.
Y/n's voice trembles a bit as she speaks through small sobs. "That movie always makes me cry," she manages to say, her voice breaking slightly. "It's like they purposely make these movies to make us cry our hearts out or something."
May nods, her own eyes still misty from the emotional ending. "I know right? Like what the fuck," her voice slightly shaky. "It's like a rite of passage to cry during this movie. I swear the directors knew which buttons to push for us to turn into emotional wrecks."
Y/n pulls back slightly, wiping away a tear from her cheek. "Maybe we should have prepared ourselves better before watching," she jokes softly, a half-smile on her face. "But then again, it wouldn't be the same without absolutely sobbing our eyes out, would it?"
May laughs through her lingering tears, a hint of amusement in her voice. "True, true," she admits. "There's something about crying during a sad movie. It's like... a release of emotions."
The two girls make their way into the kitchen, still wiping some stray tears from their faces and disposing of the tissues they used to dry their eyes. Y/n takes a moment to refill her water bottle from the tap, the sound of water filling the silence in the room.
Meanwhile, May grabs a glass from the cupboard and pours some water for herself, rehydrating after the emotional movie experience.
As they continue their business in the kitchen, Oscar enters the room. He takes in the sight of Y/n and May's tear-stained faces, noting their emotional state. A smirk teases the corner of his lips as he regards the pair.
"Well, looks like someone's had a good cry," He saunters further into the the kitchen, his gaze lingering on Y/n.
Y/n rolls her eyes, a mix of annoyance and embarrassment on her face. "Oh, shut up," she retorts, trying to maintain her composure despite her tear-stained cheeks. "We just watched a sad movie, okay?"
May snorts, playfully chiming in. "It was 'The Notebook', you know the one with the epic love story that makes you sob like a baby?"
Oscar, his smirk widening, feigns offense at May's accusation. "Now hold on a second," he protests, putting a hand over his hear in mock indignation. "Just because some people get emotional over a romance movie doesn't mean I do."
May laughs at her brothers response, raising an eyebrow skeptically, "Oh really?" she asks, her tone laced with gentle mockery. "Are you telling me that big, tough Oscar wouldn't shed a tear during a sad romance movie? I don't believe you for a second."
May playfully continues, her attitude of wanting to continuously tease her brother being fueled by Y/n's almost silent giggles. "You're not fooling anybody," she teases "I remember how you bawled your eyes when we watched "The Notebook' with Mom and Dad. I thought you were going to flood the room with your tears."
Oscar's cheeks flush slightly with embarassment at the memory. He pretends to scoff, trying to maintain his tough facade. "Oh come on," he says, a hint of defensiveness in his voice. "That was a long time ago, and I was a lot younger then. People change, you know."
May smirks, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Right, 'people change,'" she quips, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "And somehow you magically grew out of being a big, tough guy who cries his heart out during a romance movie. Sure, Osc. Keep telling yourself that."
He crosses his arms, his face still sporting a hint of redness. "I have changed!" he protests, his voice betraying his defensiveness. "And for the record, I didn't bawl my eyes out. I simply had a few... manly tears."
Y/n unable to hold back any longer, intervenes and pulls May away from the room. The two girls giggle, unable to contain their amusement as they headout towards the backyard. The scene in the kitchen, where Oscar and May were engaged in their playful quarrel, fades into the distance as Y/n leads her out onto the patio.
Me and May arrive at the pool table on the patio near the actual pool. I turn to May with an excited grin. "Do you know how to play pool?" I inquire, a hint of eagerness in my tone.
I see May's face light up, a smile slowly spreading across her lips. "Of course I do!" she replies, her response indicating her familiarity with the game. "I'm actually pretty good at it, if I do say so myself."
"Oh really?" I teases, a smirk playing on my lips. "I'll take you up on that. Let's see if you can back up those claims with some actual gameplay."
Y/n and may spend the rest of the afternoon engaged in an exciting game of pool. They both laugh, tease each other, and take turns successfully sinking shots into the pockets. Time seems to fly as they play, the backyard patio filled with the sound of billiard balls clacking and their playful banter.
During their game they share stories, jokes and even brief moments of friendly competition. The sun slowly descends in the sky, casting a warm golden glow over the pool area. Eventually, when the game comes to an end, they both realize that hours have passed and the day has grown late.
I grin, leaning on my pool cue. "I have to admit, you're not half-bad at this," I praise May, a hint of friendly rivalry in my voice.
May returns the grin, leaning against the pool table. "And you're not too shabby yourself," she responds, a hint of satisfaction in her voice. "I had a feeling you'd be a worthy opponent."
I nod, still holding onto my cue. "Yeah, I may not be the best, but I know how to hold my own," I boast playfully. "Maybe we should have a rematch sometime soon. I need to redeem myself after losing more times than I'd like to admit."
We set down our pool cues and make our way back inside the house. The sky outside now tinged with hues of pink and orange, signaling the approach of dusk.
After a delicious dinner together, Y/n retreats to her bedroom. Exhaustion from the day's activities and the emotional intensity earlier in the day starts to take its tolls on her. She enters her room, and the silence envelops her as she shuts the door behind her.
As Y/n settles into her room, her mind drifts back to the days activities. She recalls May snapping some photos during their pool games.
She steps out of her room and makes her way to May's room, intending to take a look at the photos. However, when she enters, she finds herself in a room slightly different than she expects. Unknownst to her, May and Oscar had swapped rooms a couple day earlier, and Y/n is now in Oscar's room without realizing it.
As she enters May's Oscar's room, she's met with an unexpected sight. There stands Oscar, shirtless and visibly caught off-guard by her sudden appearance. His eyes widen in surprise as he looks at her, clearly not expect company.
He holds his hands up in the air out of surprise, while trying to process what's happening. "Uh, knocking is a thing, you know that? Right?" he quips, in an attempt to hide his initial surprise.
Y/n feels her cheeks heat up and her eyes involutarily drift down to the sight of Oscar's shirtless torso. She quickly realizes that she's staring and snaps her gaze back up to meet his eyes, feeling a mix of embarrassment and intrigue.
Flushes and struggling to find her words, Y/n attempts to speak, "W-Where's May?" Her voice trembles slightly, betraying her flustered state.
Oscar, sensing her awkwardness, decides to mess with her for a little bit, a playful smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. "Haven't seen her since dinner," he responds, keeping his answer vague on purpose. "Why do you ask?"
She continues to stutter, a blush starting to form on her cheeks. "I... I just wanted to ask her if she had any pictures of me and her playing pool," she says, barely maintaining her composure.
He couldn't help but notice the blush creeping onto the girls cheeks. He finds her flustered state amusing and decides to tease her a little more. "Ah, so you're after some photos, huh?" he remarks, a playful glint in his eyes.
Oscar takes a step closer to Y/n, feigning curiosity. "And why do you need those pictures so badly?" he asks, his voice having a somewhat flirty tone.
Y/n swallows hard, her heart rater rising as she attempts to control her emotions. She steps back, trying to maintain a small distance between them, but her voice still sounds a bit shaky. "I just... I just thought it would be nice to post some of the pictures," she stutters, her eyes darting around the room to avoid his gaze.
He smirks, noticing her attempts to avoid eye contact. Oscar takes another step forward, closing the gap between him and Y/n a little bit more. He leans forward, his arms crossed over his chest, and a sly smile displayed on his lips. "Is that the only reason you're here, or is there something more?" he teases playfully.
Y/n's heart races, her mind spinning with conflicting thoughts and feelings. She can feel the heat in her cheeks intensify as she struggles to maintain her composure. "No, that's the only reason," she insists. "I just- wanted to see those pictures."
Her mind catches up with the realization that she's actually in Oscar's room. The situation hits her, adding to her flustered state. She fumbles through her words before rushing out of the room after making her apology.
Oscar watches as she hurriedly leaves the room, a feeling of amusement making him smile. He couldn't help but feel ma hint of satisfaction at her reaction to seeing him shirtless. A smirk forms on his lips as he shakes his head slightly, entertained by her flustered state.
Y/n hurries back to her room, her mind racing with embarrassment and conflicting thoughts. Once inside she shuts the door behind her with a slight slam, trying to drown out the thoughts that swirl through her mind.
She flops down onto her bed, fishing out her from from her pocket and quickly opens a text conversation with May.
May enters the room and spots Y/n laying face-flat on her bed. She chuckles slightly, amused by her friends dramatic attitude. "Hey, dramatic much?" she teases lightly.
Y/n lets out a frustrated groan in response. May chuckles a little bit louder at her reaction, amused by her friend's theatrics. "Don't worry, you big drama queen, I sent you the pictures," she mentions, "Check your phone."
Y/n lets out a muffled thanks, and May grins before leaving the room, leaving Y/n to her own thoughts and the newly received pictures.

Just as Y/n prepares to switch off her phone and go to bed, she hears the sound of a notification. Curiosity piqued, she picks up her phone and checks the notification.
Her eyes go wide as she notices the follow notification from Oscar. Her heart skips a beat and involuntarily throws her phone out of shock. She quickly buries her face in her pillow and lets out a muffled scream. In that instant, all the memories of the day's earlier events flood back, especially the embarrassing moment when she barged into his room while he was shirtless.
