Misc Notes

The survivors wake up with all their memories. They wake up on Jabberwock island. Same building structures but it's clearly been abandoned. The only building not in a state of disrepair is the lab they were hosted in.

Sonia immediately has a mental breakdown and sequesters herself in her room.

Akane is too frail to move but mentally she's doing as well as you can hope. Kazuichi cries for couple of days but throws himself into making the island suitable for living.

Fuyuhiko and Hajime compartmentalizes the fastest and leads the group.

After months, Hajime is able to wake up the first person: Gundham. He then wakes them up in term of who's been dead the shortest time in the NWP. Nagito and Peko's mind been shattered from the physical/mental trauma so Hajime leaves them for last.

Sonia avoids Gundham because he wakes up without memories from the tragedy. He reminds her of good days she doesn't deserve anymore.

Kazuichi help Sonia a lot. It's ironic because this is technically what he wanted but now he's hates it. He convinces Sonia not to avoid Gundham.

Is it weird that I actually prefer DR3’s explanation for how Chiaki was created over DR2 implying that Chihiro created Chiaki? It more sense to have the memories Class 77-B have for Chiaki, be used as basis for which an Observer can be built from.

And while Chihiro creating an Alter Ego ai for the NWP makes sense (a completely separate Alter Ego from the one he eventually makes in DR1) I don’t really buy Chihiro is able to create three separate ai’s with distinct personalities and roles for the NWP. Especially since Chiaki and Usami are therapy ai and Chihiro definitely doesn’t have any therapeutic knowledge.

Plus, making three ai’s a lot of work for just one person and this isn’t a project he owns, he’s only collaborating with the development along with many other people so I imagine Chihiro would only be here to develop the Alter Ego ai and the development of an Observer system would be handled by other people.

I personally believe "Alter Ego" is just multiple copies of a single A.I. program — once that we happen to see put to work in a variety of different situations/ways.

But other than that, I think I can generally agree with you. Maybe not for the exact same reasons, but I still agree with your concluesions.

I understand that we're supposed to believe Fujisaki, Gekkogahara, and Matsuda all worked together to develop the Neo World Program. That's why we see Gekkogahara's personal avatar, Usami, working as a therapeutic A.I. program within the NWP. But once you have Fujisaki developing Alter Ego (based on themselves) and then co-developing Usami (based on Gekkogahara), the thing about the Chiaki is: Why would Chihiro develop two separate therapy A.I.s for the same program? And then, despite basing their previous A.I.s on specific people, how and/or why would Chihiro create a third A.I. that somehow has its own completely unique, distinct personality that ISN'T based on anybody else?

For those reasons, I think the justification for Chiaki's uniqueness and distinct function given in DR3 is actually better than going without those explanations.

How’s Ibuki?

Okay I'll start off with Ibuki Mioda; I would say that while she is cheerful, friendly, outgoing and has good parents - she does have a mental condition.

Wait... Ibuki has a mental condition?

Indeed, it's ADHD or Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and it's unmedicated and no, if asking - her parents couldn't get the medication because it's illegal here - in fact I even say she gets along pretty well with her parents.

I see... Ibuki did mention that her parents aren't bad at all but if that's the case... it must be challenging.

It is, there were thoughts of leaving the country to get this medication but Ibuki wanted to stay because of her band, mostly she say that it was due to creative differences but in reality I do think Ibuki was lonely and just wanted friends, she even got accepted into Hope's Peak...

As for Mikan,... well I'm sure your aware of her background, right?

Not...really, all I know is that Hiyoko really doesn't like her but I didn't know why and she just tripped over herself, I just... figure that was just her being her...

Well sadly for Mikan, her life is filled with tragedy and trauma that I think Hiyoko wasn't even aware of or never care; she had a whore of a mother who constantly whored her out, her clients use her for sex, ask her take off her clothes and other favors.

Even at school, she was bullied for it; often doing favors for them, wanting to be useful that she develop a lot of issues even going to the point of being an attention seeker, especially her athazagoraphobia.

Athazagoraphobia? What is that...?

The fear of being forgotten; she was so scared of it that she would do anything for attention - even going into compromising positions to get attention, even bad attention as she can't tell the difference and given Hiyoko's hatred for those that lie and deceitful people.

To put it simply, Hiyoko and Mikan enable each other to be their worse selves and the 2 never got to understand each other because of it.

...I never even notice, it's no wonder.

Rising Hope

PAIRING: Hiyoko x Male Reader (Romantic) (Fluff)

SUMMARY: (Y/N), Hiyoko’s boyfriend, cures his classmates of despair without the use of the Neo World Program.

Hiyoko adored you, her boyfriend. She trusted you, felt comfortable around you, and didn’t feel the pressure to be rude just to protect herself from you. Her and the whole class thought your ultimate to be the most intriguing, being titled the ultimate copycat. You could essentially copy any skill if you studied or observed it hard enough. You didn’t really feel much need to use such a skill set until everything happened.

You weren’t inside the killing game, but you escaped from the rest of your class, having the skill set necessary to reject being brainwashed and survive the Japan you once knew now in ruins. Junko, using her analyst talent, knew you would try to ruin the fun of her game, so she used your one weakness against you; Hiyoko Saionji.

You were too preoccupied with trying to save your girlfriend, so Junko was able to continue her killing game in peace. Unbeknownst to her, you were already undoing her evil deeds on the outside.

Thankfully it wasn’t too hard to capture them. You’ve seen them and many others perform their talents time and time again. It was simply a matter of outsmarting them that led to you capturing them all. Izuru was the easiest since he complied from the beginning.

By the time you had done that and found an empty building to contain them all, news of Junko’s killing game ending spread quickly. Some of the remnants were upset to find out she had died, others didn’t care much. You knew that someone would come looking for the remnants, and unsure of what would be done to them, you hid their existence from the public until you could fix them.

In order to break Junko’s brainwashing on them you tried to remind them of the old days. You made the building resemble their classroom, made a robotic version of Chiaki to fill the void of her absence, and interacted with them all as if nothing had even happened.

The quickest one to adjust was Nagito, he was relishing in the hope filled within your actions. The others, especially the more aggressive ones, were fighting back from even the slightest nice gesture.

Hiyoko was the one you wanted to focus on most. Despite not wanting to play favorites considering the situation, you couldn’t help but spend most of your time with your girlfriend. Dancing with her, having dinner dates with her, squishing ants together, anything to bring back her memories.

She was reluctant at first, but as her memories of you slowly became clearer, she removed the walls she had made and began to open up more, eventually becoming disgusted with despair. Especially once she realized Junko had only used herself and the others for her schemes.

Hiyoko jumped into your arms, sobbing tears big enough to fill a room. She regretted everything, and promised to do anything if meant things could go back to normal; just her and her boyfriend, with her friends, all in a classroom playing games and having fun with each other.

After Hiyoko was cured, the others began to follow suit one by one, each time helping you fix the rest of their classmates. By the time the Future Foundation found out where you were, all the remnants of despair were no more. Makoto was surprised by your accomplishments and told you his dream of rebuilding Hopes Peak, wanting you to hold the title of ultimate hope alongside him and his friends.

The Remnants having gaps in their memories yes, so do the survivors.

Infact the only one with intact memories is Komaru (and Sho but given the game they have gaps).

She is the only one who retains her memories of the past years.

And she's also had to witness both games as they were televised.

She's always overthinking her words and afraid she's going to accidentally trigger someone.

During her time in captivity, Komaru wrote a diary of both her daily life and everything she saw.

She's never been both greatful and disgusted before.

On countless occasions she's considered burning it because the information is too personal. It's not something she should even have nevermind witnessed, but she can't...

Komaru has had the Warriors of Hope, because they remember as well, promise that they won't bring up the games or anything that happened during the last few years.

When you see the Remnants, pretend its the first time you're meeting them.

They promise before hugging her because they can see their big sis is so afraid, and Komaru hugs them back.

They've all grown up, somewhere along the line she grew up too.

She refuses to forget what she saw.

Nor will she ever voice it.

Her big brother almost died... Multiple times, Komaru would fight every monobot on earth single-handedly if it meant keeping Makoto safe.

She can't protect him forever, she hasn't been able to protect him for a long time.

But this is all she can do.

Komaru bared witness to the worst event humanity has ever known, and she can't look away.

A day will come when they ask her, and she'll have to respond. She can't lie hide it from them forever.

But whenever she sees the smiles of the Remnants, when Toko and Makoto are at ease, she wishes she could.
