Romance and gestures associated with romance are all very performative things but they’re still full of very real emotions. Take something like a ballet recital it’s incredibly performative but if the dancer has a passion for their art form, you can feel and see the true emotion of the dance the same logic can go for an artist, a songwriter, an author, any and all things on this planet is a performance of some kind but you can still see the beauty underneath the act, the emotion behind the perfected skill and hours of practice.
