On April 16th 2025 The US Federal Government Has Proposed To Change The Interpretation Of The Endangered

On April 16th 2025 the US federal government has proposed to change the interpretation of the endangered species act so that it no longer protects habitat.

This is open for public comment until the end of May 19th. Please comment and make your voice heard.

Wildlife need their habitat. If the ESA redefines harm so that habitat is no longer protected, the implications for wildlife would be catastrophic.

I'm pretty sure that it's perfectly normal to sometimes have an occasional, random, vague little worry that you were molested as a kid and completely blocked out any memory of it, and now have no way to ever find out. Everyone thinks about that sometimes.

gotta give this a reread but yes orwell wanted to express that revolution as a concept is a reactionary solution to the oppression incited by the ruling class while in the same vein acknowledging that there is no right or wrong way to protest the actions of the 1% BECAUSE they hold the power in the dynamic regardless of what action is taken.

the only way to take efficient action against such a force is to make the ruling class the minority and then pray to the heavens that the masses and majority may persevere over that minority. but we may not ever truly see that in full effect because unfortunately, if we didn't have any asshole 1%-ers in the world the good would simply be balanced out with some other type of evil. yk the whole, yin-yang, dark and light, order and chaos spiel ur gonna hear from me every damn time.

very funny to me when people act like animal farm and 1984 are revolutionary anti government texts that the Powers That Be dont want you to read when they have literally been a part of every standard middle/highschool english lit cirriculum in the usa and beyond for decades. precisely because theyre such convenient primers to propagandize that Commies = Bad. the government is quite literally making kids read them

there's a lesson that people dont seem to have learned which is insane to me if you've watched game of thrones bc my queen mother Lady Olenna said it herself,

"sometimes we must ally with our rivals to defeat our enemies",

or something to that effect.

the seven kingdoms were fighting a war over the iron throne, while a millions-strong undead army marched towards civilization in an attempt to conquer it. no one focused on the undead army part early enough tho, because they were too busy fighting and killing each other over who got to be in charge.

you may despise conservatives, Cheeto voters or the Republican party itself, you may even hate them. its a valid perspective to have, BUT

those people are, at the baseline, in the same position as you - at one point they may have been misinformed and misguided by the system, their families, their churches, etc. etc. and they are fighting wholeheartedly for what they believe is right. some of those people are now finally deconditioning themselves from those positions because they are seeing, watching, LEARNING that the system does not infact favor them if they are not part of the 1%, and they are seeing, watching, LEARNING that the things they voted for that they thought didn't affect them do infact impact them majorly, because of the fact that

it is NOT left vs. right, it is UP VS. DOWN.

i understand the urge to shame people for participating in the oppression and discrimination that has been happening for centuries in this country, and some of the people im talking about DO deserve it because they REFUSE to change, BUT

refusing to celebrate those people who have only just been truly introduced to our side of things, to our perspectives and experiences is counterproductive. im not saying be nice to bigots, i'm saying be welcoming to ex-bigots and educate them in a way that doesn't make it seem like you're looking down on them for not knowing - thats what the government is doing to immigrants, trans folks and disabled individuals.

we will do more damage as a united front. dont immediately attack; if you see a good fighter on someone else's team, the best way to move is to get them on yours instead.

I think it’s important to note that in the US there’s been a lot of older people, conservatives, people from red states, and Drump voters themselves participating in protests and pushing back in town halls. Conservative judges are ruling against the current administration.

You don’t have to like these people but I want to emphasize that when fighting against authoritarianism it doesn’t help to be picky with your allies. Keep going to protests and if former Drump voters join you in those protests, good.

i like working at plant store. sometimes you ring up someone and there's a slug on their plant and so you're like "Oh haha you've got a friend there let me get that for you" and you put the slug on your hand for safekeeping but then its really busy and you dont have time to take the slug outside before the next customer in line so you just have a slug chilling on your hand for 15 minutes. really makes you feel at peace with nature. also it means sometimes i get to say my favorite line which is "would you like this free slug with your purchase"

If You're Expecting Your Employee To Fix A Mistake That's Costing You Millions, Then They Deserve A Very

If you're expecting your employee to fix a mistake that's costing you millions, then they deserve a very significant cut of it.

If they were being fair, they'd ask for half, which would be $9 million. But they didn't even ask for that. They asked for a raise, which would probably be a few thousand a year. And you couldn't even give them that.
