Imagine a narrative in which the Villains are betrayed by society, destroyed by it. A narrative that is based so entirely on infectious, ineradicable hope and change, slowly betray you in the very same way it did the villains you're supposed to hate.

Shigaraki wouldn't sleep for days because that way he doesn't have to deal with being awake, waiting to sleep and having thoughts and half dreams that send him into bolting upright, scared and groggy trying to remember a face he just saw. So it's video games, energy drinks and substances until he just falls asleep in his chair, or lays down and passes out, too tired to even dream. Most of the time.
