My favorite thing about humans is that they'll pack bond with literally anything. Even when we make something that's just a tool to use, something that doesn't think, sometimes doesn't even move, some human will get attached, and it becomes something precious. We make monsters meant to frighten and scare only for someone to find it friend shaped and loveable. We see it everywhere in fantasy and Sci-Fi. Dragons, demons, robots, aliens from distant worlds. Hell, we pack bond with words on a page or images on a screen because we innately want to connect even if it's with characters that don't even exist.
Despite so many of us hating the forced proximity of the modern world, myself included, I can't help but find it adorable how we're so desperate for a pack, so desperate not to be alone, that we can connect with anything.
Sorry, I didn't mean it in an intelligence way (just said intellectual equil because thats how he precieves him. Ranpo is definitely as well, but Fyodor doesn't seem to care about him) or that he would precieve Dazai as a literal child. I meant it in a "Oh you're a lot younger than I thought" way. For example, I was born in the 90's and when my best friend from work said she was born after 2000 I said "You're a child" jokingly meaning "You are so young" and then had a "fuck I'm getting old" moment. It wouldn't change Fyodor's perception of Dazai at all, but he'd probably feel his age a bit.
Does Fyodor know how old Dazai is? Like, I imagine Dazai looks older than he is just from the everything in his life. So, does Fyodor know he’s 22 or does he think he's older? If someone told him, would "I've lived multiple lifetimes" Fyodor just be like, "What do you mean my intellectual equivalent is a fucking child??"
So, realistically, how much do we think Dazai actually plans versus him just being really good at taking advantage of any situation/getting lucky and just claiming he had a plan all along? Just him being like:
Dazai: "Everything's going according to plan."
Insert Chatacter Here: "Everything's literally on fire."
Dazai, not expecting to get this far in life let alone this situation: "Which was my plan all along. Obviously. Keep up."
So, i was doing some research for my fic, Dead Ringer, (don't ask) and ... da fuck you mean the Yakuza got busted for trafficing nuclear material in New York?! Like, I know January was nuts, but I'm surprised that slipped right by unnoticed.
So, I've been reading the webtoon for Tower of God after watching the anime and came across something that I'm sure is unintentional, but hilarious none the less. In ep. 101 of the Webtoon, Rak says "Son of a turtle," which implies that "turtle" equates at least loosely to "bitch." So Rak has been calling everyone "bitch" the entire time and I think that just makes it so much funnier.
I don't think it's reasonable to say that Chuuya felt betrayed by Dazai leaving the Mafia.
Like, the guy literally got stabbed in the back and almost killed via firing squad and still proceeded to ask for the Sheep to be spared and a year later went out of his way to save the guy that literally stabbed him in the back.
I mean, he was only slightly miffed that Dazai blew up his car. So, I severely doubt Dazai just quitting his job did any real damage.
I know it probably won't be the case, but I would love it if, in Tower of God, Arlene is revealed to be a very caring and doting mom to Baam. Like, she can be bat shit crazy and will destroy you for looking at her wrong, but when it comes to Baam, I would love it if she was a caring parent with a legitimate reason for not being around (improsioned or something like that). One, because he deserves a good parent. And two, it would be an interesting character dynamic given that every other parent in the story is competing for the worst parent of the year award.
So, something I just noticed since they both came up on my feed.
In both Chuuya’s reaction to Dazai getting hit by Lovecraft and Dazai's gay power of friendship/getting shot speech, they both say something similar to the other.
Even if Dazai is talking out his ass (which is a very real possibility since he knows he's not about to die), it's an interesting parallel and it makes me wonder if it was intentional on the writer's part.
Chapter 14 is live! Fandom: All For The Game - Nora Sakavic
Chapter Exerpt:
“Kevin! Jean! Just the guys I was looking for!” Neil said. “Who’s on Tetsuji duty today?”
Jean instantly pointed at Kevin before the older man could realize what was asked. He smacked his hand away and looked at Neil. “What are you on about?”
“Ichirou is coming Monday and since you’re on Tetsuji duty, you’re voluntarily drafted to tell him about the meeting. Congratulations!”
“He really did some damage when he knocked you out this time, didn’t he?”
“I severely doubt there is anything in his skull to damage,” Jean replied.
“Haha. Bite me.”
The first time I saw this when I watched the anime I straight up was like, "Okay, they have that type of friendship." It reads like an inside joke to me. Like they're referencing something from when they worked together, and it just became a running joke that no one else would probably understand.
Bones robbed us of Dazai literally laughing out loud at Chuuya's rich girl act.
I feel that if Chuuya was arrested for his crimes, he'd be handed back over to the military instead of being sent to prison or executed. I imagine something like the arahabaki program would be Expensive, like billions of dollars Expensive (considering they made not one but two specialized labs for it), so they'd want something to show for it. And since it was technically a success, they'd probably want to keep Chuuya alive and attempt to salvage what they could from the program, despite the head researcher being dead or whether Chuuya was cooperative or not.
She/They The account I can talk about fan stuff on. I also post fanfics on AO3 by the same username.
