Master List Here!!

What Goes Around Comes Around.

I am so so sorry. I truly thought I had uploaded this piece but it was a draft. Then found the finished version was corrupted so had to work off my last saved draft. Haven't a Pokémon fic properly before for Goh and Chloe. So consider this my first published fic!! (Turns out I had really rough drafts for a Sword and Shield based story. So guess what I'm working onnnnn!!😍😍)

This was requested by the awesome @grammarrrrrr, who was kind enough to do a fic for me, "Healing Curses and Trauma." and was kind enough to let me try one (1) for him!!

I hope this is ok, please tell me if you would like it changed or anything to add or take away. Enjoy!!

💪😎💕

The day had started off so well. Chloe and the boys had reunited after the Champions Battle and Mew Expedition respectively with their dreams and goals near enough fulfilled. Ash becoming a Champion after his victory over Leon and Goh finally encountering Mew once more, even getting to "hold it on the palm of his hand!"

To celebrate the occasion, the trio and their Pokémon decided that a camp out was the best way to do so. But it was so Chloe could get Goh to admit to Ash that it may be time to go their separate ways now. Goh has learned all he could with Ash, forever grateful for being able to grow into the researcher he always wanted to be and meeting Mew.

But the young girl could see that he couldn't shake off that feeling of potential betrayal to his friends if he ever did so. After an eventful travel to their campsite, enjoying the berries the Poliwag had given them in thanks for saving it from an angry swarm of Spearows, they began reminiscing about their time together as Research Fellows.

Throughout the trip, Chloe had quietly urged Goh to admit to Ash that now was the time to honestly tell the New Champion about his feelings about separating for his own journey, loosening ties to allow himself to be less dependant on his friends. But just when she thought he could do it, he chickens out. It was then she could have kicked herself when Ash casually announced that he was beginning his new journey with just Pikachu.

She saw how Goh couldn't hold it back anymore, tearily asking when Ash had planned to tell him this or if the year they spent together meant anything to Ash. She couldn't blame Ash, the boy was used to saying "See ya when we see ya" to his former travelling companions, having great pleasure in meeting them herself. But she couldn't help the pang of sadness in seeing her life long friend be upset at this new revelation.

Goh couldn't hold back anymore, declaring that since Ash didn't care about it, then their friendship was over and to never talk to him again as he ran off into the woods, his Striker Pokémon, equally as shocked as she was, followed suit.

"Goh wait!!" Ash called out after him, shock has yet to set in for him at what just happened. "What was that all about?"

It was then that Chloe gave the sternest of looks she could muster to the newly appointed World Pokémon Champion. He didn't realise what his words did to harm their friend.

At the same time, she knew Goh was quite secretive about his past and how he had a hard time admitting that making friends was never easy for him.

It took them this trip to the campsite alone to talk about the Abra that would randomly teleport into his family apartment years ago, after witnessing one (1) getting berries from a tree.

With a deep breath, she finally says,

"You were his very first friend, Ash. I don't think you understand how much that meant to him."

Ash, despite being airheaded, really did seem genuinely confused. She supposes that, as someone who always had travel companions and hardships since literally starting his journey, he can easily forget that that it was a difficult task for Goh and even herself to even start their journeys. But all the same, Ash's big heart for people and Pokémon alike has proven that at the end of the day, they all are just people wanting to reach their dreams. Ash took that hard step in sticking with his Pikachu, and the rewards for it has been substantial. And many links were connected thanks to Ash introducing them all at some point or another. So she decided to do something she wouldn't have dreamt on doing before.

"Ash, I understand how things may have been difficult for you when your journey began, but I want you to understand why this isn also the case for Goh. If not, even more difficult. It's not my story to tell from his point of view. But if you care for him, then please listen to what I have seen myself."

Ash and Pikachu shared a concerned look between each other before facing her again, now with a determination shining in their eyes.

"Ok. I don't know what Goh had been through, but I want to be able to help him. I can't help him if I don't know how he came to this conclusion. So please, help me understand."

"Pika!"

With that, Chloe took a deep breath and began to tell her side of the story.

========================

*FLASHBACK.*

If Chloe had a dime for every time Goh say "The future is at the palm of my hands!", she is certain that she would have a mansion for herself long before now.

Though that was also something she admire about him as well. But that was also when she seen how much of an outcast he had become. Or maybe it was because they couldn't find a way to understand him, he didn't exactly choose to be one.

A child of a Professor, she understands how people can criticise something they don't understand, even when they are presented with the known and most basic of facts. Her father did many a battle in his field to get to where he is at now.

Goh, despite his young age, already understood plenty. Enough to easily cut off the, thankfully patient, Professor Oak. But why did the other children have to be so cruel when he got praised?

========================

*CURRENT DAY.*

Ash and Chloe were still scavenging around the woods, both they and their Pokémon calling out for their dear friend and hoping to see some sign of him or Cinderace.

"I didn't know it meant so much to him to have me as his friend." Ash says as he looks around the trees. "Those bullies, you said Joshua had a Squirtle back then. I fought him before?"

Chloe grimaces at remembering finding Goh in such a state seeing him again. While he can handle confrontations better now, Chloe understands why there as some people he would much rather avoid.

"He was arrogant, I had my fair share of rivals but he was just a bully. Even after I beat him, he just wouldn't lighten up."

"He still has an ego. And I'm glad that you brought him down a peg or two (2)."

"What did he do to Goh?"

========================

*FLASHBACK.*

"Why don't you just fight back against them, Goh?" Chloe asked as she pulled up the boy from the dirt. "You're kidding right?" Goh began to protest as he fails to discreetly wipe the tears from his eyes. "I can't fight back someone who is bigger than me! I'm just lucky their Pokémon are in the Daycare Section." Chloe just sighed. Unfortunately she had come across another harassment against Goh as it was wrapping up. Even her own friends had urged her to try and stay away less she took her caught between opposing sides. Well, she would say it's opposings sides had Goh actually fought back. In this case it's more like avoiding being caught in the bully's cross hair. She can't even say she recognise this one (1) in particular. It wouldn't surprise her, Belle had been spreading rumours lately, something about how Goh would belittle anyone who doesn't know anything about a Pokémon before playing victim to get them into trouble. Outrageous lies! Goh, from what Chloe had observed of her longtime friend and fellow classmate for a few months, he's very introverted. Intelligent for sure, being the son of two (2) system engineers and programmers would do that as she too, is a child of a Pokémon Professor and Illustrator. Both bore the heavy expectations to follow in their parents paths in some way but only Goh bore the storm of others doubts and ill intentions. Focusing back to Goh once more, she could see that his injuries are thankfully at a minimal. It was home time now, so she practically pulled him up and towards the main gates. "W-wha?! Where are we going?!" The dark haired boy exclaims at the sudden pull. "Don't you have to meet your friends after school?" "Plans change Goh, you should know that!" She smiles back at him, it was a lie she'll need to apologise to her friends for it later, but he didn't need to know that. "They cancelled so I got time. Let's get you home. Your grandma is staying over too, right?"

"Oi, we weren't finished yet, brainiac."

Oh no, Joshua! He was back with his Squirtle. She hears Goh beginning to panic but without a second thought or a single second to look in the bullys direction, she bolts to the main entrance located just around the corner. If they could just get to the door -

"Use Water gun in front of them!"

She didn't see the shot pass their heads, or how it muddied up the grass they were running all. But she did see each blade of grass as she face planks into it, Goh landing on his rear just beside her, not losing grip of his hand.

She stood in front of her friend to shield him from his harasser.

"Out the way Cerise. Don't want the precious little professor to get in the way of his target now, would we?"

"Stop it! Goh didn't even do anything to warrant any of this harassment!" She tried to mimick the best protective growl she could manage. She doesn't know why, but she's tired of seeing her friend hurt.

She was thanking any Legendary God Pokémon she can think of when the teacher rounded the corner and began scolding the bully. It resulted in a week's ban of bringing his Pokémon to the Daycare. He asked Chloe and Goh if their were any more, but Chloe had to reluctantly keep quiet as Goh said no, having met Joshua's raging face.

They couldn't get a hold of Goh's parents, typical, but thankfully Professor Cerise was nearby to pick them up. It was almost pitiful watching her dad help him clean up before offering a ride back home. Goh's Grandmother thankful that her Grandson was safe and sound, having argued with the school before about the brats behaviour towards Goh. She offered the Cerises some of her homemade soup for their trouble.

Goh was clinging to every word the professor was saying about his field of work, eventually asking questions and answering in turn, testing each others knowledge on Pokémon and the likes. She didn't miss how Goh perked up when his computer that his parents built him was brought up and how proud he was when proudly showing off his well organised files on it. Each Pokémon sorted by type, quadpedal or bipedal, typings. She can name it and he would have it.

It was no wonder he was ahead of everyone in school!! She suppose she could come over every now and then to learn more with him.

========================

*CURRENT DAY."

"Now I'm really glad that I dealt with that Joshua. Shame it can't be said about Belle." Ash deflated a bit on that.

"I wouldn't worry about that one (1)." She replies, when Ash looks at her she adds: "Remember when you got me back in touch with Serena after the contest in Lilycove City?"

Ash tried to think back on it, before sheepishly apologising about being late that day. But he was glad to see Serena again and her kindness to help Chloe in the show.

"Ash, it's ok. I had fun doing it. But Belle didn't." She heard Ash say "oh?" And recalls the moment she got to witness karma first hand.

========================

*FLASHBACK."

"And why does SHE get to preform with Serena and I can't?!" Chloe heard a voice practically bawl out on timing with the stomping heels against tiled flooring.

"Competitor Belle please restrain yourself from lashing out." One (1) of the staff tried to calm her down. "Miss Cerise -"

"CERISE?!" Chloe now recognised that shrill voice anywhere now. "The Loser Crybaby Protector?!

"Competitor Belle!" It was Serena's voice that cut through as she came out of the changing room. "That sort of behaviour is not tolerated in Contests."

"But why?! Why the Crybaby Loser Protector." Belle pushed the topic more. "She was the reason I got suspended for no reason!!"

The rumors continues, even now. Chloe was ready to charge in there and confront Belle, but a hand on her shoulder. Turning to find it had been Lisia who had stopped her, a finger against her lips to signal Chloe to be quiet and watch.

"That was your last warning Miss Belle. Malicious behaviour against other competitors have zero (0) tolerance here or anywhere. But I did have the pleasure of speaking to an aquitance of mine who knows of Miss Cerise and Goh." Chloe could feel her chest tighten and her grip around Eevee cause the poor thing to squirm out of her hold and onto her shoulders instead to avoid being crushed. "And it appears that some of yours as well is still continuing this unwarranted behaviour!"

"I know one (1) of the judges here! I will have you kicked out of this contest before you even set foot on that stage!" Belle cockily threatens. "So it's best you have her drop out before you both get kicked to the curb."

"I have already had the pleasure of speaking to the judges already before today's performances. None have confirmed to even heard of you until now."

"I'm sorry Miss Belle," the staff member says, not sorry at all as she removes her hand from her earpiece "But I'm afraid it's now best you leave the premises now, as word of your unruly behaviour have reached the Organisers and Judges and have deemed you unfit for this competition or future competitions."

Chloe's jaw dropped, Lisia smiling just behind her. She turned, unable to form words as she points to Lisia and back to Belle. Lisia just nods and walks off to next on stage. Well, looks like today's competition will be a lot smoother now, whether she won or not at least the competition looks more appealing than ever.

========================

*CURRENT DAY.*

"So that's why Goh was grinning ear to ear on the boat!" Ash exclaimed. He recalled meeting his old friend Serena literally moments before the boat had set sail. "Glad Serena was there to deal with that bully too."

"Yeah. Last I heard, Belle was dragged out and on a 'not allowed to compete' list." Chloe said happily, before turning serious again. "Ash, that's what you have to understand. Goh has learned a lot from you. Even I learned from you."

"Huh? I don't think I really taught you guys anything." Ash scratched the back of his head. "I only know how to help with battling."

"Not only in battles. But in understanding Pokémon and even ourselves." She explained. "Before, I had no interest in Pokémon and Goh was bullied relentless for being the opposite of me. He was so determined to have Mew as his first Pokémon, but then imagine my surprise when he's back with a Scorbunny! Then he really opens up and became less stubborn about learning things the only way he knew how. Became part of the Mew Project and met the real Mew!"

Here she grabs both of Ash's hands in her own to emphasize how she feels.

"Goh would never have come this far if it weren't for you. I wouldn't have met Eevee. We wouldn't have met all your friends and learn the world is full of opportunities and that there isn't a bully out there that we can't stand up to."

"But if that's the case, why did Goh get upset? We helped him with his panic and trauma with those bullies? Even if it's just helping him get through the panic attacks." Ash asked, upset at what he could have done to be a new cause for one (1).

"Because he feels like that would be betraying you. You declaring your new adventure was so easy for you, that Goh felt like his announcement to do the same was meaningless." She turned away from Ash, scanning at the treelines for their missing friends. "He's afraid that both sides may have just betrayed each other."

Ash looks at his partner, the Electric Mouse Pokémon looking back at him with dropped ears with a said "Pika."

"I'll help him understand why he's wrong about that. It's never a "good bye" but it's really saying "I can't wait to see you again and hear all about your adventures" kind of thing." Ash calmly explains as he continues scanning as well. With determination burning within his eyes, he adds, "And I'll be sure to tell him that when we find him. We can't let things end on bad terms and misunderstandings."

Chloe looks at him, studying him. His raised clenched fist held up in front of him, a determined expression and looking ready to physically deal with a problem and his Pikachu's matching pose helped her realise she also needed to hear the same thing from Ash.

Both her and Goh journeyed so far to get to where they are now. A simple misunderstanding will unravel and tarnish the very lessons they had learned thanks to Ash, their families and the friends and Pokémon that were met along the way. The rain began to lighten up, as if the heavy burden were finally lifting off of her shoulders and would come to an end when Goh realises the same thing.

"Then let's find him and tell him just that then." Chloe agrees, Eevee matching her determination just as much as Pikachu has with Ash. "And when we do, it will be just the start of something new. For all of us."

Both trainers stare each other in the eyes, scaling to see if their words bore the same strength as their actions have. Then grinned. They continue to search before Pikachu hears something and urges them to follow. They had come so far in this journey. The words of those bullies has come back to bite them and turn them into the very things they called Goh. So as she stands their with Cinderace, Pikachu and Eevee, watching them clear everything up and the rain ceasing, she knows that what it truly meant to be side by side with friends who truly love you for who you are as you grow along side with them.

The future truly is at the palm of their hands.

Curse (pokémon journeys)

Summary; Goh carries a seriously hurt Cinderace to the Pokécentre, then tries to find a way to lift it's curse. (This is an idea from @tumblingdowntheway2019)

Goh bursts through the doors of the Pokécentre with Cinderace, but added with blood all over his almost human-like body, and its face was seriously purple.

”Help! Help!” cried Goh, tears running down his face. ”Cinderace has been cursed! Please! I need help, please!”

Nurse Joy rushed over and took the huge rabbit from him, immediately checking its stats.

She ran over to a hospital room, and Goh followed her. Joy placed Cinderace on the hospital bed and rushed to help it in some way.

”What happened?” she asked worriedly.

Though the boy was way too focused on sobbing.

“I went to check out this haunted house and... and...” cried Goh. ”We stumbled across this strong pokémon, I sent out Cinderace, and we were winning until the pokémon cursed it! It saved me!”

The pokémon had aimed an attack on him, but Cinderace saved him, making itself get hit.

”Don't worry, dear- I'll try my best to help it,” said Joy. “Chansey, heal it!”

Joy's panicked tone was not helping Goh, and it was vice versa.

”How about you go wait out there?”

Goh complied, he stepped outside without a complaint- there he sat on one of the waiting chairs.

God, he was so stupid. Why did he decide to go alone without Ash or Chloe?

(Flashback)

He looked around the ruined house, for stuff or maybe even pokémon, but more specifically ghosts.

The house was known to be haunted, and he was set to prove it either wrong or right.

Cinderace was with him.

Then, a shuffle was heard and a pokémon jumped down in front of him.

It was a normal-sized, black pokemon with dark pink stripes, along with long, thick and scary-looking horns as the same color of the stripes.

It had blood red eyes and sharp fangs that could easily draw blood if given the opportunity.

And Goh just guessed that it was a darkness or ghost type pokémon.

He picked up his rotom phone to find out what it was.

”No data exists for this pokémon.”

Omg, a new kind of pokémon?!

It looked like the pokémon wanted to battle, so Goh got out Cinderace, who looked ready to battle.

”Cinderace, use Pyro Ball!”

Cinderace used the move but the pokémon dodged it.

The pokémon used some attack, a new one, which made a ball of darkness come at Cinderace, which it quickly dodged.

”Cinderace, use Quick Attack!”

Cinderace ran towards the pokémon quickly and kicked it, hurting the pokémon.

”Bell- Bellace!”

Goh smirked, and got out a PokéBall, ready to catch the new pokémon.

”Bellace, huh?”, he threw the PokéBall. ”PokeBall, go (goh)!”

Bellace dodged it,

(Later)

Joy stepped out of the hospital room, and went up to the distressed boy.

Chansey's healing powers hadn't worked, it seemed Cinderace's curse was too strong- and if they didn't get the pokémon to reverse it, then there was a chance Cinderace could die.

He had tear marks on his face, that was messy, and he was hugging his knees.

“Goh,” said Joy. ”I'm afraid you'll have to find the pokémon again, and have it reverse the curse. Because even without the curse, Cinderace has very bad injuries.”

Goh sighed and stood up, then nodding.

The frowning boy stepped out and made his way to the lab.

(Drizzile's POV)

It threw another water ball, Drizzile was training. Now was the perfect time, nobody was there, as it was late.

The sky had a redish hue.

”Driz-!”

It was training to become like Inteleon, and make Goh proud.

But then suddenly, it started feeling like someone was watching it. Drizzile turned around and saw Misdrevous.

”Mis, drevous-” said Misdrevous, saying ‘something has happened’. ”Misdrevous- mis.”, saying ’Cinderace is hurt and Goh is sad’.

Drizzile was shocked.

And suddenly it had many memories about Cinderace- it had always been so nice.

It had to help them.

”Misdrevous,” said Goh, suddenly, and he looked like a mess. ”We have to go back to the haunted house.”

Drizzile looked up at Goh, determined.

”Drizzile!”

Goh looked confused.

”Drizzile, you wanna come?”

It nodded quickly, and Goh put it in its PokeBall.

(Later)

On the way to the haunted house, they had seen Chloe and Eevee. And somehow, Chloe had seen he was upset. He told her and she insisted on coming with.

”You don't stand a chance towards that pokemon alone,” had Chloe said, eagerly. ”But Eevee and I can stand our ground- and together we could actually do some damage.”

Chloe was right.

Then, when they got there, it was cold and empty.

”Bellace! New pokemon! Hey-y! It's the dude with the fire Pokemon you fought!”

Chloe sighed at Goh's foolishness. (Though, she understood he was desperate.)

”Ee-Eevee!”

Eevee exclaimed on Chloe's shoulder, jumping up and down.

Suddenly, a familiar (to Goh) pokemon jumped down, and they both gasped.

”Bell-Bellace..?” muttered Goh, shocked.

A scared and sad look was evident on his face, before he shaked it off, now looking determined.

”Reverse Cinderace's curse!”

He brought out Misdrevous and Drizzile, that looked very ready. While Chloe chose Eevee, that also looked determined.

”Drizzile-”, its voice had a not so noticable spark in it. It was ready to fight.

”Misdrevous, use Shadow Ball!”

The pokemon used the move, but Bellace dodged it, though then Eevee did the same move and it hit.

It grunted and fell back, though quickly regaining posture.

It used a move on Eevee, which it quickly dodged due to Chloe's command.

Goh smirked.

”Drizzile, use Water Gun!” commanded Goh, really just not wanting to let Bellace get a hit in.

Drizzile seemed to catch on, on the speed tactic.

It quickly used Water Gun on Bellace, and it got hit, and seemingly being effective.

And Eevee did the same, its tail glowing blue. And Bellace got hit again, then again with tackle.

Then Bellace got a hit in, using the curse on Drizzile, though it dodged. And then Misdrevous used one of its strong moves on it.

It laid down, being very tired.

They surrounded it, and Eevee used Bellace's curse on it.

It coughed and coughed, now feeling very terrible.

”Now come with us and reverse Cinderace's curse!” said Goh, determined. ”And as a bonus, let me catch you!”

Chloe facepalmed at Goh, caring about that in such circumstances.

Though, what they wanted to happen, didn't actually happened. Instead Bellace charged at them, getting ready to use an attack on Drizzile.

It happened quickly, so quickly that Goh didn't have time to tell Drizzile to dodge it- though what the feared, fortunately didn't happen.

”Lucario, use Aura Sphere!”

Never had Goh been so relieved to hear Ash's voice.

Bellace was hit and fell to its feet, but quickly regaining posture.

Fortunately Ash commanded Pikachu to use Thunderbolt, making Bellace fall, groaning.

”Bell-Bellace...”

Goh was about to catch it, but then it pushed through, and jumped away.

”Bellace!”

Ash walked over to him, laying a hand on his shoulder comfortingly.

Though Goh didn't feel Ash's touch as a tear slipped past his eye.

No, no, no- what if Bellace was actually his last chance? What if... Luck couldn't heal Cinderace without it?

What if?

Then, he heard it- the sound of ringing, and he knew who was calling...

He picked up his phone and answered, and Luck's soft voice he was almost longing to hear, wasn't there, instead it was distressed and just trying to keep it together.

”Yes..?”

He begged that the words he knew would come out of her mouth, wouldn't come out.

”Have you gotten the pokemon yet?” she asked, and he could tell she was begging too. And then he couldn't keep it together anymore, and he started crying, a quiet sob leaving his mouth, which Luck heard. ”Is everything okay?”

He nodded quickly, then realizing she couldn't hear that.

”Uh, no, not really...” he said honestly, and he could practically feel the disappointed sigh that emit from her mouth. ”I had it, but then it got away... Sorry...”

God, he was so stupid! Maybe if he just got Ash from the beginning... Or tried harder! It was like he was asking for things to go wrong! He was so stupid, so stupid!

”Oh,”, he could hear that she was disappointed and it felt so rough. ”Well, it's probably best you come back here- Cinderace has gotten worse.”

Those were the worst words that could come out of her mouth.

And Ash pulled him in tight, giving the crying boy some comfort.

”Y-yes...”

And then the car ride (taxi) was horrible, Goh cried on Ash's shoulder the whole time as Ash tried to comfort his best friend.

And Chloe tried to come up with a solution for him, being rather unsuccessful.

When they got there, the pokemon got out of their pokéballs, and they all went to the hospital room- where they saw Cinderace, looking terrible, while laying down on the bed.

And when Goh saw his first pokemon there, he broke down sobbing, quickly walking to bed and crouched down against the bed.

Drizzile walked to the bed sadly, thinking about Cinderace- it had always been so kind and caring.

”Cinderace...” whispered Goh sadly. ”I love you, ever since I met you, covered in mud, I have felt this... connection between us... We have a connection, and that connection didn't disappear when you turned into Raboot, it just changed... Which is why I love you, so please...”

He took Cinderace's paw softly, and smiled sadly as he remembered their memories.

”You've always been a great leader, you know,” he whispered again, with sobs in between. ”With those Nickit friends of yours as Scorbunny... And when you had that dance competition as Raboot...”

It has always been such a great leader...

”Thanks for saving me, Acey,” whispered Goh, rubbing Cinderace's paw with his hand. (I just need a soft nickname, kay? Don't judge.) ”But I'd rather have you. Here.”

Drizzile wiped his tears with its paw, quickly becoming invisible.

Cinderace was special- and it had been apart of their lives for so long, they couldn't just lose it now.

”I'm really sorry, Goh,” said Ash, his voice so, so soft. ”And Drizzile, Misdrevous...”

Ash didn't even know you could lose your pokemon, but here they were, about to lose Cinderace.

On the heart monitor, they could see that it was slow and weak- it was still there, but not for long.

Goh stopped up slowly, his legs weak under him, and sobbed on Cinderace's chest.

”Don't leave, please!” he sobbed, hugging Cinderace. ”Don't leave! Hold on, I still need you! Don't leave, don't, don't, don't! Please, please, please...”

Something sat down next to Cinderace- Drizzile, and they could see tears running down its cheeks.

Everyone were sad.

Then Eevee saw how sad Chloe was, how much sobbing Goh was doing, and made a decision- it walked over to the bed with determination, jumped on it, and after concentrating for a bit its tail started glowing, now using Heal Pulse.

They were shocked- what was Eevee doing?

Then, Cinderace coughed and opened its eyes slowly.

And then it was clear that Eevee had just healed Cinderace- but how was it even able to do that?

Chloe looked at Nurse Luck for answers, who seemed to be as shocked as they were.

”My guess is that your Eevee has a special Eevee ability, this is rare, actually,” explained Luck. ”My guess is a... dormant Sylveon ability gene... Though this means, Eevee can't evolve.”

Well, that explained a lot.

Goh picked up Eevee happily, hugging it, and Eevee hugged back.

”Thank you, thank you!”

Tears stained Eevee's fur.

”Wow, you deserve all the treats in the world!” Ash said happily.

Eevee squealed happily at that, really loving treats, after all.

Then, it looked at Chloe, who was giving it such a prideful look.

Slowly Chloe walked over to it.

”I'm really proud of you, Eevee!” she said as she took Eevee from Goh's arms, and it quickly cuddled up to her. ”Good job!”

Goh then went and sat down on the hospital bed, hugging Cinderace tightly.

”Cin-Cinderace...”

(A week later, at night, in Drizzile's cave)

Goh opened the door to the pokemon garden- he needed to see Cinderace.

He had just had a bad nightmare about Cinderace dying, and had to convince himself it was just a dream.

Because it was, it was just a dream, Eevee healed it in front of him. It was all just a dream, a stupid nightmare.

But when he didn't see Cinderace in his usual sleeping spot, he panicked, before remembering its slept with Drizzile for a while now, till it gets all healed up.

So quickly he made his way there, expecting to see Cinderace and Drizzile asleep, but that's not what he saw at all. They were awake- why were they awake?

Then their eyes turned to him, confused. And he just couldn't help but notice that Cinderace looked sad.

Why did Cinderace look sad?

”Nightmare,” he said quietly as he sighed and sat down next to them, hugging his knees. ”Why are you up?”

He's been sleeping bad too recently, even before Cinderace's accident.

”Drizzile...” murmured Drizzile, looking at Cinderace.

He could understand it as like; ”tell him” or something- he doesn't understand pokémon language.

”Cin-Cinder-Ace, Cinderace” murmured Cinderace, now looking at him.

And he could see that Cinderace felt useless. That wasn't true, it saved him and has many times before.

”Acey, you're not useless,” he whispered, pulling his pokemon into a hug, which it returned softly. ”You saved me. You have so many times, and I love you for that. You're so kind...”

He didn't feel the tears running down his cheeks until Cinderace wiped them away. Why was he crying? Cinderace was here, for gods sake, it was here.

”I love you both.”

Drizzile deliberately crawled into his arms.

...

So when Ash saw Goh cuddled up to Drizzile and Cinderace that next morning, who was he to say anything?

Thank you!

For just about a few weeks now I have been anxiously waiting to read this story- for some reason, I really like Bullied Goh- and dissapointed I was not! Also, can I say that I love the title? And the whole wording of it really fits Pokemon, much more than my writing does.

BU-U-UT there is one thing; I'm a girl.

In the beginning I was referred to as a ’him’ and of course, that is faulty because I'm a biological female and I go by she/her pronouns. Maybe I should make that clearer from here on out? Pfft. But honestly, tumblingdowntheway2019, you don't even have to apologize or change it. I think it's really funny that it got mixed up like that. And please answer this question; do I really give off boy-vibes or was it an error?

Please don't change it, I love it. I'm also planning on writing another Pokemon Journeys fic- this one got me in the mood- I just need an idea. And once again, for everybody in the back, THANK YOU!

========================

========================

========================

========================

========================

========================

Panic attack 3. (Pokémon, Goh angst)

Summary: Okay, this is still Raboot, but after the apple, so expect more comfort!

(It will be more comfort this time.)

Third time. (Raboot)

”Ash, where are you!?” screamed Goh into the phone.

“U-uhh,” continued Ash. ”I'm still in town, looking for food!”

”We have food right here!” screamed Goh again.

Him and Ash were in the Johto region, at a hotel, well, he was. Ash was out looking for food, even though they had food in the lobby.

”Yeah, I know! But I've heard that there's great food in the Johto region!”

The hotel was also in the Johto region, so Goh did not understand where he was coming from.

”There's great food here too, idiot!” screamed Goh once again.

”Yeah, I know, but...” said Ash. ”Okay, I'll be home soon, then we can go eat there in the lobby if I haven't found food, okay?”

”Yeah. Get back soon!”

He hung up.

”Raboot- Boot?”

He looked at Raboot, it was sitting on the armchair behind him, with a sleeping Sobble next to it.

He went over to it and picked up the sleeping water-type pokémon, it quickly settled in his arms, and he laid it down on the bed, and pulled the small blanket over it.

”He'll be here soon, guess we have time for ourselves, huh?”

It jumped up from the armchair.

”C'mon, let's go out to the balcony, maybe we can even see Ash when he comes.” said Goh.

He and Raboot went out the balcony.

The view was nice, the stars glistening.

He had always liked the night view, the moonlight.

(Later, Ash hasn't come yet)

He was listening to the people below.

There were three people, obvious teenagers, two boys, one girl. They were talking.

”Oh, c'mon! Don't be stupid, Tito!” said the girl to one of the boys.

”Yeah? And what are you gonna do? Hit me with your karate gloves?” teased Tito, the boy.

Tito brushed his dark hair with his hand.

”Oh, damn! Are you gonna fight her?” asked the other boy. ”Mei, Tito, don't! The cops might come!”

”Don't be a scaredy cat, Conner!” said Tito.

”Your a scaredy cat too. You wouldn't hit me,” said Mei confident. ”You don't hit girls.”

You don't hit girls.

You don't hit girls.

(Flashback)

”Stop, Belle!” cried Goh.

He was on his knees, crying, under Belle, a girl with brown hair with hazel eyes.

”No way!” said Belle, laughing. ”A loser like you is something I just can't ignore! You have to know how much of a loser you are, you crybaby!”

He continued to sob, which only made Belle laugh harder.

”Stop bullying me!”

That's all she ever did.

”What are you gonna do? Hit me?” said Belle. ”You don't hit girls. Didn't you know?”

So it wasn't okay to hit a girl, but it was okay to hit boys? How is that fair?

(Flashback ended)

He sat down, crouched, trying to stop himself from crying.

The same feeling settled in his gut, the one he hadn't felt in a long time.

”You don't hit girls!”

It felt like he was back there, in the playground, that stormy day, being pushed around by her, hearing her sick laugh as he was pushed in the mud, dirtying his clothes.

(Flashback)

He landed in the mud, dirtying his already-dirty clothes even more.

She then went over to him and took a harsh hold of his wrist, pulling him upwards.

”Stop it!” cried Goh.

”No chance!” said Belle, she pulled him down to gain that dominance, forcing him to look up. ”You are such a loser. Got it?”

He sobbed louder, hoping that someone would hear him.

”Quiet down!”, she slapped him, making him shut up. ”They'll catch us, you idiot!”

She then pushed him into a puddle.

She walked forward and dragged him around in the mud.

”Ow, stop! Oww!”

”Your such a crybaby, you know that?” said Belle, getting to him. ”No wonder you have no friends.”

She then pulled him up harshly again. And then, out of the blue, she hit him in the face hard, giving him a bruise under his left eye.

He sobbed.

”Your mean!“

”I'm not mean, I just think that you should know what you are. A loser!” said Belle rudely.

She pulled his hair, and basically threw him in another puddle, making him land on the face.

”Oww!!”, he sat up quickly, his cries getting louder.

The blood ran down his nose.

“Hah! Weak!”

”N-no!”

He tried to stand up but Belle kicked him.

”I'm in control here, understand?”

”M-mommy!”

He wanted his mother, her soft embrace, her soft kisses, and those soft tickles.

”Loser! Only losers are momma's boys!”

She hit him in the face again, making blood drip down his cheek.

”Oww! Please stop!” begged Goh.

”Ugh, why do I waste my time on a nobody like you?” asked Belle rudely. ”Your honestly lucky that I do, you fool.”

She then pushed him in another puddle.

”Belle, come, we're leaving now!” called a female voice, who seemed to be Belle's mother.

”Coming, mommy!” said Belle, but before she left, she turned to Goh one last time. ”Don't tell anyone about this. Oh, and be here tomorrow, or I'll find you, and then it won't be fun.”

She then ran to her mom.

He stood up and ran to his mother, who was shocked when she found him.

”Mommy!”

He ran into her arms.

She immediately picked him up, not caring about the mud or the blood. ”Oh, sweetie, what happened?”, she kissed him on the forehead, and wiped the blood with a tissue.

”Someone was mean to me!” sobbed Goh.

”Oh, poor baby, let's get you cleaned up at home,” cooed Camille.

(Flashback ended)

”Raboot?”

He didn't realize he had zoned out, thinking about the first time he met Belle, and their meeting was not exactly great.

He was on the floor, crouching, tears running down his face- He felt like he needed to puke- Exhale all the anxiety in him- God, he felt terrible.

And Raboot was witnessing it all- For the third time- Couldn't he just control himself?

Belle was right, he was weak, he started having a panic attack just because of one sentence- It was like he had trauma or something-

Did he have trauma?

No, he couldn't, trauma is something big and scary- Like getting kidnapped, raped, or abused- He had just gotten bullied, and that can't be so grand, can it?

(I just want you to know, I don't think this, but Goh does since he doesn't know much about it. Trauma can be anything- But Goh doesn't know that. I'll let you continue reading now, hope you have a good day!)

Raboot stepped closer, making him flinch, it continued taking small steps, and then sat down in his lap, trying to help him.

”It's happening again...”

Raboot didn't deserve this, it had witnessed this three times now.

Quickly, without thinking, he bent over, and puked.

It lasted for a few seconds.

After, he leaned against the railing, not caring about the concerned looks Raboot was sending him.

(Later)

He hugged Raboot when he sat down, after cleaning his vomit.

They had just eaten, it was curry, and now Ash was fast asleep.

”Raboot, thanks.” thanked Goh, he cuddled it closer.

Raboot didn't object, it just simply let his partner embrace it.

At least he wasn't alone, and that mattered.

Reversed rolls.

Summary; We all saw how Camilo calmed his mother in the movie, now imagine that being normal, imagine Camilo telling Pepa that all would be okay. But, one natural rainy day, Pepa enters her son's room and catches him crying. Then, for once, the rolls are reversed.

The rain smashed against the windows.

Pepa did not like the rain, but this time, it wasn't because of her, it was natural. And Pepa couldn't control that, only her own weather, but even that controlled her sometimes.

”Woah, that's a lot of rain. I wonder if we can even go out tomorrow.” said Julieta, she took a sip of her coffee. ”At this rate it might start thundering.”

She sat down next to her sister, and pushed over a plate of arepas.

”Yeah, usually watching rain that's not caused by me is relaxing. But this time it's really violent. Ay, let's keep our hopes up,” said Pepa. ”And this time it's not even my fault.”

Pepa took an arepa and ate it.

”It's very loud..." mumbled Dolores, she covered her ears and winced.

She put her hand on her daughter's shoulder, and kissed her lovingly on the cheek.

”Lo siento, mi amor.”

Félix was sitting next to Dolores on the other side, and was helping her cover her ears, being gentle with her.

”Hey, it's fine, I'll manage,” mumbled Dolores. ”Focus on something else, like Camilo, I haven't seen him in a while. Sadly I don't know where he is, but he might be in his room.”

”You can't hear?” asked Pepa worriedly.

”No, the rain's too loud... I can't hear anything else...” explained Dolores quietly. ”But I'm fine... Worry about Camilo instead...”

Pepa drank up her coffee, and took another arepa, before grabbing the plate and standing.

”I'll go see where he is, and get him some arepas. Then I'll help you up to your room, so you can rest, okay, Lola?”

She kissed her daughter on the forehead before leaving.

She walked up the stairs, and went over to her son's room, opening the door.

”Hijo-”

What she saw shocked her.

Camilo was there- Crying, crouching, small sobs leaving his trembling lips- He was shaking, and mercilessly pulling his strands- And then he noticed her, he wiped his tears.

”Mami-”, he let go off his hair. ”I'm fine- Lo siento. Just... Forget about it- I-is something wrong?”

She walked over to Camilo and sat down next to him on the floor, and put down the plate.

”I'm fine- But your clearly not, what's wrong, Milo?” asked Pepa worriedly. ”I wanna help you- Like you've always helped me. It's only fair. And you deserve it.”

He did.

Her Hijo had always been so kind to her- Calming her and reassuring her. He had always been so gentle with her, being there when she needed him.

God, how she got lucky.

”¿Cómo estás, corazon?” asked Pepa. ”Solo por favor se honesto, Milito. Por favor.”

She kissed him on the forehead.

”¡Estoy mal, Mami!” cried Camilo. ”Sometimes, when I look in the mirror- I just don't recognize myself, and... I-I wanna shift, I just can't stop... I can't stop working, I just can't... I need a distraction...”

Oh, how his tears broke her heart.

”I'm sorry...” mumbled Camilo. ”I know I should be worrying about you, and your feelings... But I just can't stop mine from dripping over and I'm sorry, I know that's not an excuse, but...”

”I'm sorry!”

God, her heart cracked at that.

”Don't apologize, Camilo,” said Pepa. ”You shouldn't stop yourself from expressing your emotions just because of me.”

She blamed herself, she was always so focused on her own emotions, not her children's. And she should be.

He started to cry more.

”Mi amor, I'm here for you. I promise, okay?” comforted Pepa softly. ”It'll be okay, maybe you don't believe me right now, but it will. I know it will, trust me.”

She wrapped her arms around him tightly and reassured him.

(Later)

His head laid down on her shoulder, they were holding hands- And talking, and eating the arepas.

”I don't wanna wait that long... I wanna be okay. Actually okay.” said Camilo.

”I know, mi sol, but just be patient. It will take time, but I'll be there. The familia too.” reassured Pepa.

”I know...” mumbled Camilo sadly.

”Will you tell them? For me?”

”Sure, cariñito.” answered Pepa.

He smiled, it was small, but it was genuine.

”This is new...” mumbled Camilo suddenly

”What do you mean?” asked Pepa.

”Usually I'm the one comforting you.” explained Camilo. ”Now your the one comforting me. Weird, isn't it?”

”Your right.”

He was, for once, the rolls were reversed.

And, just as with the first part, this idea came from a particular tumblingdowntheway2019, so any credit should go to them! And with all that done, let's get into it!

Ever since the Bellace Incident- which they had taken to calling it- Goh had been fine mentally. And Cinderace was, too, physically; quickly it was starting to walk properly again and soon after that acting just like always.

Doctor Cerise had put him in therapy following the incident and, talking to Miss Halloway, he realized he couldn't be blamed for what a wild Pokemon did. It was stupid, really. (His words, not hers.)

Goh was fine, in short.

Until that day's news report, that is:

As he and Ash- Drizzile, Cinderace and Pikachu, too, by default- stepped into the lab room that morning, both already dressed in their regular clothes, everybody gave him worried glances as they sat down to watch the news.

Chloe muttered a shaky ’good morning’ but Goh barely noticed as his attention turned to the news, where a concerned news reporter was in front of a Thievul, purple in the face, and a crying pokemon trainer next to it. (a ’Cinder-Cinderace!’ came from Cinderace as Goh's face paled.)

”Today a pokemon trainer and their pokemon were ambushed on their way to the grocery store! By a pokemon, according to the witnesses!” and Goh found himself shaking, ”This pokemon poisoned the Thievul and has an appearance that doesn't match with any other! The police will be putting up a poster shortly.”

Their eyes all turned to him, sympathy clear.

”Just a coincidence?” he said, without really believing it himself.

Goh had hoped, from deep inside himself, that it was a coincidence. That it was instead another new Pokemon, with a poison move, and not Bellace.

But then he saw the poster of the pokemon and it was, undoubtedly, Bellace.

Goh had cried himself to sleep that night.

The next day, there was another news report.

”Overnight, some teenagers and their pokemon were ambushed by the same pokemon as yesterday! We have no more information at this time but the symptoms of the four poisoned pokemon match with the Thievul!”

Goh had refused to meet any of their eyes, even Cinderace's.

Thankfully, the next news report came a week later- but Goh did not forget and neither, he doubted, did the others- ”Right now we are at the hospital because another Pokemon got poisoned by the new Pokemon!” the news reporter said, ”And the pokemon trainer- the sole witness- said it heard it call ’Bellace’. Police have put out an official poster now, with a warning to only go out if you really need to.”

Goh was inconsolable for days, refusing to look at reason; Ash had tried to comfort him, even Pikachu but he didn't listen. Chloe had tried, too, but she gave up as it seemed he hadn't even heard her. He hadn't, not really.

Only Cinderace hadn't tried to comfort him as it was very upset itself.

Cynthia has had enough; for days now there has been reports of a new Pokemon, apparently called Bellace, which has been attacking other pokemon. And despite that this was solely happening in Vermillion City, seemingly all the citizens of Japan were growing restless, scared they one day would be attacked.

She was sick of it.

Therefore she had booked a meeting with Doctor Cerise (a pokemon professor who lived in Vermillion City) in hope he had certain knowledge she could use of.

”Well hello, Cynthia,” he said, grinning, ”It's nice to meet you. I read from your email you wanted to talk about the recent news reports? About the pokemon Bellace?”

She nodded, ”Yes, I've seen people concerned everywhere and I want to ease their worries,” and Doctor Cerise nodded approvingly, ”What information do you have?”

”One of my research fellows had an encounter with Bellace,” replied Doctor Cerise, ”before the news reports about it started. You could try and ask him about it, though I warn you it's still a tough spot for him; his first pokemon almost died then and these news reports have been stressing him.”

Cynthia smiled- it wasn't often a pokemon professor cared about their research fellows and how they were feeling after all- and said, ”Yes, that should work. Hopefully he tells me something we could use. Thank you, where is he then?”

”He's probably in the Pokemon Park, I believe it's feeding time,” Doctor Cerise replied, ”I'll show you there.”

When they arrived, however, there was no sign of Goh (the research fellow she had guessed it was); only Ash, who was indeed feeding the pokemon. Doctor Cerise had talked to the boy, asking of Goh's whereabouts, and Ash told them that Goh was lying in their bedroom. As apparently, he had been in no fit state to go out, Ash presuming it had something to do with Bellace.

Once entering the small room- really it had no size for even a double bed- and there she saw Goh, lying on the top bunk, staring at the wall opposite him as if he had no soul. Quite weird, she thought.

”Goh,” said Doctor Cerise, carefully, ”Cynthia is here. She has questions about the Bellace Incident.”

Goh- as if someone had flicked a switch in him- sat up directly and hence, bumped his head on the ceiling, to which he groaned out in pain; ”I'd be happy to!” he said, after having climbed down, ”What do you want to know?”

Soon they were sitting on a bence in the pokemon park, where she was interviewing him, asking every question she could think of.

”I found Bellace in an abandoned house, kind of haunted,” Goh quickly told her, ”It's probably still residing there. And I remember it was always upstairs when I came... Those two times... Recently I've started thinking that, maybe, it was protecting something. That we were invading its territory, maybe, but maybe I'm just trying to excuse what it did...”

She nodded in understanding ( she was trying to hold Goh's tears at bay) and said, ”Maybe. I'll go there later. But right now I'm most interested in how Cinderace survived; you said it was poisoned but I've seen Cinderace and it seems well and in top shape.”

”Oh, Chloe- my friend- has an Eevee and it healed it,” said Goh and, upon seeing her shocked face, added, ”Nurse Joy said it because it had a dominant Sylveon gene, I think, so maybe only Heal Pulse can cure Bellace's curse? Or just that specific Eevee?”

So fairy types were effective against Bellace then...

Cynthia knew what she had to do now; she would go to that haunted house and try to find Bellace, hopefully catching the Pokemon and preferably managing to get all her pokemons out not poisoned. Fortunately, Garchomp was a ground-type.

”I know what I have to do,” she announced, breaking the silence, ”I am going to fight Bellace myself.”

At this, Goh stood up quickly, ”You can't! Bellace is powerful, i-it could kill Garchomp! I know it's a ground-type and that's super effective against poison but Bellace isn't like regular pokemon! We don't know if it'll work!” though, upon realizing nothing he could say would change her mind- she had to do this, after all, for the safety of everyone- his eyes quickly glazed over with tears, ”Please,” he choked out, ”Bellace has already done enough damage to me, I don't want it to do anything to you or Garchomp! It isn't like regular pokemon, it's okay with hurting us humans. That's how it got Cinderace!”

He sat down again in defeat, quickly growing helpless to his own sobs; and there he sat, continuously wiping his own tears as he sniffled and made gulping noises. It was such a sad scene that should never come from a kid, no exceptions.

”Cinder-Cinderace,” called a Cinderace, presumably Goh's. The one that almost died, her mind supplied, ”Cinderace!”

Goh let out a particularly loud sob as he pulled it in, hugging the pokemon tightly, ”Acey,” he choked, ”S-sorry. Shit. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, shit, I'm sorry.”

Just as Goh countinued spewing apology after apology, a worried voice called, ”Goh!” and Ash ran forward, panting as he placed a hand on the crying boy's shoulder, Pikachu running down across his arm, ”What's wrong? Is it Bellace?” he then turned to her, and added, hotly, ”What did you do?!”

”Don't get mad at me!” she yelled back, suddenly feeling the need to defend herself, ”I have to fight Bellace, that might be the only way it's stopped! This could save the whole of Japan!”

Ash was now turned completely to her, while Pikachu rested on the shoulder of a crying Goh; ”All by yourself?! That's how Cinderace almost died, you know, by Goh being by himself! You'll need back-up! Garchomp isn't enough!” Pikachu called out ’Pikachu!’ in agreement, ”At least take me with you!”

”I will not!” she said, now trying to calm herself down. No need to yell at the kid, she reminded herself, ”What if Pikachu is poisoned? I can't risk that.”

Ash protested- of course- and they continued to argue until, a voice determined yet held shakiness to it, said, ”I'll go with you!” and Goh was now standing up, to the shock of everyone, ”I'm the only one who's faced Bellace before! While you don't even know where the haunted house is! You need me! And Ash, and Chloe too!”

”Absolutely not!” she called out in shock, ”You're kids; I'm not sending you on anything that could end up harming your pokemon!” she turned to Cinderace and added, ”And especially not you, Cinderace. It's already been hurt by Bellace. I can't risk that happening again.”

Cinderace called out ”Cinderace,” sadly.

Goh wiped his tears and determinedly said, ”Then why risk Garchomp by being stubborn? You need us, we're the only ones who's actually faced Bellace! We know its moves!”

”Yeah!” said Ash, joining in as Pikachu made a noise of agreement, ”You can't just go off all on your own! We're the only ones who've fought against Bellace! And won!” Goh gave a look that said he wouldn't call it ’won’, ”So you'll need our help! We can do it!”

No you can't, she thought, you're just kids.

She, eventually, had no choice but to let them (she didn't have all day, after all); so, begrudgingly, she had agreed to get the Chloe girl along with the Eevee and they took a taxi to the haunted house.

It looked scary, as expected of a haunted house; with its sloping, breaking roof; its broken, run-down windows with more holes than it had a full pane; its door which seemed unable to close; and a large balcony that would surely fall down soon. Why was it still up, she wondered?

With her was; Goh, of course; Ash; the girl with a ponytail named Chloe; Goh's Cinderace; Goh's shy, almost-depressed looking Drizzile; Goh's Misdrevous, as its moves would be effective; Ash's determined Pikachu; and the Eevee, which seemed very determined; and of course Garchomp.

Goh, standing next to her, was shaking and muttered, ”It- it looks just as always...”

Cynthia sighed, ”If you can't do this,” she started off, ”then you don't have to. It can be hard to face trauma.”

I understand, she thought but didn't say it.

Goh, just as she had expected, shook his head, a determined look on his face though hiding behind it was a look of doubt and fear. He didn't want to do this- she could tell- but he was doing it anyway.

”I can do it,” but he couldn't.

Did she really have to force this upon him? She didn't want to. It seemed vile, almost, to do that. But what choice did she have? He would keep insisting.

It was silent for a while until she said; ”Well then,” their eyes turned to her, waiting for instructions, but for once she did not feel important, ”Let's go inside. We should make as much ruckus we can, maybe it'll lure Bellace down. Then we should overwhelm it and all attack it once. It won't know who to hit. And if one of us are poisoned, Eevee can heal them, right?”

Eevee called out ”Eevee!” happily which she chose to take as a yes.

”Alright,” she said, ”Let's do this!”

She hoped the chirpiness in her tone would hype them up- and with that, encourage them- but it seemed she had underestimated their worry the uncertainty that would come with that.

It was not going well.

They had gone into the house, made a ruckus- Ash loudly talking about whatever; Goh outright yelling nothing; and Chloe was, loudly, telling them to lower it down while nodding; and all the pokemon loudly calling out- which did lead down a long, thin pokemon with horns spiraled with black and purple. Bellace, based on a shaking Cinderace's ’Cin-Cinderace’ and Goh's sob.

It called ”Bell-Bellace!” it called and managed to sound irritated.

She decided to start, in hope to catch it off-guard; ”Garchomp, use Dragon Rush!”

And Garchomp jumped up, spinning in the air as she powered up, the blue aura all around her. And after it was done, she yelled ”Now use Draco Meteor!” as Ash got Pikachu to use Quick Attack.

Goh, on the other hand, seemed too scared to use any pokemon despite that she and Ash had already started (Bellace proving to be a tough opponent) while the Chloe girl seemed quite inexperienced. Though perhaps she would grow confidence, watching them fight. Perhaps Goh would, too!

She and Ash fought in tandem; Garchomp attacking then Pikachu, all in hopes to overthrow Bellace.

But the pokemon seemed to be going strong and Cynthia assesed it to have Quick Attack, Confuse Ray (after a minor incident with Pikachu, which was solved quickly), a new move which consisted of a purple aura shooting out of its horn, and then the poisoning which she has not yet seen. Perhaps if Goh could chime in and get Misdrevous to use Confuse Ray on Bellace...

But it seemed very unfair to push the boy as he was evidently very scared to be face-to-face with the pokemon that had almost caused the death of his first pokemon (which he, of course, had a close relationship with.) And what would that prove of her, if she did that?

But the thing was that she had a plan, which could be a success if Misdrevous used Confuse Ray... Yes, what did she do? That was the question; push Goh to get Misdrevous to use Confuse Ray? (which could damage him in a completely different way) or wait it out (which could, if too long, cause damage to the others.)

The first option was obviously the right one yet she was reluctant, as pushing him could lead him to not help anyways!

”Goh!” (it seemed Ash was not that considerate) ”Help us! Get Misdrevous to use Confuse Ray!”

It was as if Goh had woken from a trance- though it was fully in his thoughts as if the fear had frozen him in a way- but then he flinched, his eyes still firmly stuck on Bellace for a while. Then, tears glazed in his eyes, he yelled ”I can't!”

And, ignoring the eyes of everyone of them, he ran outside.

It was, as the saying said, the straw that broke the Numel's back (as the famous story- told to every kid as a bedtime story- said.)

Cynthia ran after him, ignoring the calls of Chloe and Ash (of begging him to come back, probably) and out there was Goh, sitting and shaking on the ground. He looked as if he didn't really know where he was.

”Goh,” she said, trying not to sound stressed but failing miserably, ”I know you're upset and-”

A BANG interrupted her and upon both of them running to the window, they saw something they definitely did not want to see; Pikachu and Eevee, lying on the ground with beat expressions on their face; Ash and the Chloe Girl, holding their defeated Pokemon; and Bellace over them, standing proudly as if daring them to challenge it.

Had Eevee and Pikachu been poisoned, she wondered? Could the Eevee even heal itself, if they were? Or Pikachu?

Goh let out a loud sob, ”This is all my fault!” he cried, dropping himself onto the ground, she bet, ”I'm the reason Pikachu and Eevee are hurt! Because I thought, stupidly, that I could handle it. That I could handle seeing Bellace again. But I can't. I really can't!”

She didn't really have a choice but to tell him, did she?

She sighed, trying to delay it as much as she could (it wasn't a fun story at all); ”Goh, when I was 8 my grandmother had a Snorlax- to research why they slept so much- and I absolutely loved that Snorlax. I used to sleep on its stomach and once it protected me from a group of Raticates. We were so very close, you know,” she said, refusing to look at him for the next part, ”But then a new Pokemon was discovered and Grandmother got it; it was a Seviper. And it poisoned Snorlax, with a new move. It died.”

She tried not to sob. (It was still a rough subject.)

”I'm sorry,” Goh said.

She nodded in response, ”It was hard. I was... inconsolable for weeks, I've never cried that much in my life. When Sepivers started to grow in population, I was terrified another one of my pokemon would be hurt. Even today, I don't have a Sepiver and I fear fighting one,” she said and Goh moved closer, ”Snorlax and I were very close, like you're close with Cinderace. That's why I was hesitant to let you join this; I don't want you to lose Cinderace like I lost Snorlax. I want to make sure of that, you understand?”

”Yeah, yeah I do,” said Goh, sniffling now, ”I've always been scared ever since, you know, that Bellace would come back and finish the job. Of killing Cinderace and- well, I just don't know what to do with it all. I literally went to a therapist yet I'm still scared. And upset. And worried. I shouldn't be but she never fixed me. Or not fixed me but she never fixed how I feel and that's what I'd like,” he looked up then, determination clear in his eyes, ”I need to fight Bellace.”

She nodded excitedly and responded quickly, ”Yes! You do! And you can, I'm sure of it! This is your right, Goh!”

He ran inside immediately without a response and she followed him, just in time to hear him call ”Misdrevous, use Confuse Ray!”

Bellace, having let its guard down, was hit and stood there confused for a bit. While it was, Goh ordered ”Now use Hex!”

And Misdrevous, seeming quite determined, did so. Bellace, being stuck in the trance left from Confuse Ray, could not duck and was hit straight in the chest. And this, it seemed, was the only damage having been done; Bellace now had scratches, a feat neither she or Ash had been able to achieve, and had now woken up from its trance.

Bellace, angry now, performed a new move, one not offensive for once (showing Goh had gotten under its skin); it started dancing, spinning around while it hit the floor with its hooves, and purple aura- clearly its signature color, just as with many poison pokemon- started surrounding it and Bellace seemed to get new energy.

This was a power-up move, then.

”Mis-misdrevous!” called Misdrevous, seemingly panicking just as they were.

Goh was sweating- she could see it, though he tried to wipe it away-  and yelled ”No reason to panic!” even though he himself was, ”Use Psybeam now!”

”Garchomp, use Earthquake!”

The ground shook beneath Bellace- clearly catching the pokemon off guard- and it screeched; a loud, piercing sort of screech and when Garchomp kneeled, she realized it was a move. Another new one!

But before she could counteract this at all, Goh did it for her (seemingly without really thinking); ”Misdrevous, use Confuse Ray again! And Garchomp, use Dragon Claw!” he yelled and the pokemon obliged but when he realized- ”Sorry, Cynthia! I wasn't thinking!”

It was, of course, considered an offense to instruct another's pokemon what to do in a Pokemon battle.

”It's okay Goh!” she yelled back as she watched Misdrevous use Confuse Ray. Bellace was hit and stood there, once again confused. This meant that it could not duck Garchomp's Dragon Claw and damage was made.

It called ”Be-Bellace!” and then the pokemon ran towards Garchomp, using Quick Attack, but before it could hit-

”Drizzile, use Mud Shot!” yelled the voice of one particular Ash Ketchum and Bellace was shot with a multitude of mud, coming from the depressed-looking Drizzile, which was now looking very determined.

Bellace, now with scratches all over its long body and continuous calls of ’Bellace’, looked as if it could be finished off with just a few more moves.

And it seemed as if Bellace knew this itself, as it looked around the room- probably deciding which one of them to attack and they all braced themselves- and when it had decided, it summoned the purple aura out of its horn again and shot it towards-

Cinderace! (The pokemon she had forgotten was currently present, if honest.)

It called ’Cin-Cinderace!’ as it ducked, leaving Drizzile in position to be hit which, upon Goh's command of- ”Drizzile, use Reflect now!”- reflected the move, leaving Bellace feeling rather hopeless, judging by the look in its eyes, and Goh yelled, ”Good job Drizzile!” as the two, human and pokemon, high-fived.

For a brief second she felt envious of their close friendship.

All three of them were about to use a move- her, personally; Dragon Claw- but the command of; ”Eevee, use Sand Attack!” coming from one Chloe Cerise, who was properly joining the battle at last!

”Good job, Chloe!” Goh called out cheerfully, ”Way to go! Now, Drizz-” he was about to call out the name of his water Pokemon before Cinderace stepped closer to its trainer and called out ’Cin-Cinder-Cinderace! Cinderace!’ ”Oh, you wanna do the final blow, Acey? Well okay then; Cinderace, use Agility!”

And this move was, just as predicted, the final move; as, upon getting hit, Bellace fell to the ground, looking completely and utterly defeated complete with its multiple scratches. And it seemed that Goh wasn't even thinking- but he probably was. Goh was very intelligent, as she'd come to learn- as he took a Pokéball from his pocket and, while yelling out ”Pokéball, go!” threw it at the defeated Pokemon, which was too tired for an attempt to duck.

It was very silent indeed as they waited in uncomfortable silence, the only noise being the moving of the Pokéball, until they heard a PING.

”Today we are with Goh- who refused to give out his last name, for some reason- Ash Ketchum, Chloe Cerise, and Sinnoh Champion Cynthia, the ones who defeated the town's torturer, pokemon Bellace!” the news reporter said cheerfully into the microphone, her grin quite real, ”Yes, you heard me right! Yesterday, these people and of course their pokemon,” the camera shifted to the pokemon, ”defeated Bellace, the pokemon that has been poisoning multiple others!”

The group nodded to the camera nervously except Cynthia (who had of course been on camera multiple times and was used to it) and the news reporter continued, ”I've heard there is a story behind this, too! Would you care to tell me, Goh?”

”Oh, uh,” the young boy said awkwardly into the microphone as it was practically shoved into his face, ”Around a year ago, I walked into a haunted house with uh, my pokemon- Cinderace-” he was off camera for a while as he got the Cinderace to stand next to him, ”and this is where Bellace was living. With a few pokemon it was protecting, as we later found out. I fought with Bellace, to try and catch it, but it poisoned Cinderace here. It-it almost di-died and I had to go back to beg B-Bellace to heal it. It wouldn't. Until my friend Chloe's pokemon, Eevee, healed it!”

The news reporter took back the microphone- much, visibly, to the young boy's relief- and added; ”And that Eevee was at the hospital earlier today, healing the other attacked pokemon! Round of applause, please! So yes, we are free of its torture and can sleep easier at night! I know I will!” but she then shoved the microphone back into his face, much to the boy's chagrin, ”Tell me, Goh; what has happened to Bellace? Please tell the audience!”

Despite that the word ’audience’ clearly added to his nerves, he replied, ”I have caught it and sent it to the police, where they will be watching over Bellace and making sure it does no more harm to me- God knows it’s done enough-” he muttered that part to himself, ”or anybody else. And the pokemon it was protecting, I have caught too, to take care of personally at Cerise Park.”

”Oh, that is even more amazing!” the News Reporter said, almost jumping up and down now, ”Thank you, truly, for stopping Bellace! Many of us are very thankful for you!” she then added; ”Do you have anything you would like to say, Goh? You, or your pokemon? Or anybody else, for that matter?”

Everybody shook their heads except the young boy, who had to take the microphone from the woman- because of her not seeing his nod- and said, ”Yeah, I do,” he took a deep breath, looking down and when he looked up again there was a sad smile present, ”I'm really glad this whole situation is over.”
