Ive been playing around with a fic idea for a really long time that doesnt really have a plot (hence why I havent written it) but would be a slice of life or episodic "lesson learning" story where the premise is Daichi's father getting a fancy job across Japan, so they have to move, but because he's so close to graduating (and they might make it to nationals!) he really doesnt want to go with them, and knowing how important he is to the team and they are to him, Ukai decides to let him stay in a spare room above the shop/live with him, and it would really focus on Ukai's POV of like - sure daichi is functionally just renting a room, but Ukai legally becomes his guardian/proxy for school/medicial issues etc but he's not worried because "I was a trouble teen and got into shit but this kid is so put together and normal, I dont really need to worry he can probably handle himself" and in fact in terms of father figures Daichi spends a lot of his time lecturing Ukai on proper cleaning and house maitenance, he's a really handy guy, very on top of things, and Ukai makes the joke about how Daichi is clearly the more adult one of the two but then *that* starts to weigh on him as he realizes there's something unsettling in that idea and he starts fighting back against Daichi's very mature persona and unravelling what had essentially been years of (unintentional) emotional neglect and having been forced to grow up really fast and its just a general fluffy vibe of "everyone has something to teach" where Daichi helps Ukai shake off the last of his teenage bad habits and Ukai helps Daichi develop at least one teenage bad habit before he graduates. I think this also means that Ukai walks in on Daichi and Suga making out on the couch and is incredibly conflicted over whether or not he should yell at him or be proud of him.
me when i literally experience this exact same loop every single month. one day, i'm gonna spiral too low and never come back up. what am i gonna do then?
I've been sobbing over Laika for like 2 days now because she represents so much to me. She represents the animals we sent to space to die. The animals we love. The animals we treat horribly for our own gain. Félicette. Miss Baker. Belka and Strelka. She represents the love humans can have for something. The determination we have. How cruel we can be. How selfish we are. How selfess we are to craft poems and art and statues for a dog we'll never meet.
She's our paitron saint of one-way trips, and the mother of our stars.
BPD culture is feeling embarrassed when you stop masking and show how you really are feeling. When all your insecurities come to the surface, you feel vulnerable, even lost for speaking about them.
okay yeah i see where you're coming from with the hinata + oikawa hooked up in brazil but you know what else is fun? the idea that they didn't, but everyone thinks they did, and they cannot convince anyone otherwise.
kageyama: pfft. like i need you're opinion. you got one second alone with the great king and became one of his fangirls!
hinata, losing his mind: FOR THE LAST TIME-
iwaizumi: What, none of the brazilian girls were biting?
oikawa: I DID. NOT. HOOK UP. WITH HINATA.

three days later, Hinata gets a text from yachi that just reads: OIKAWA???!!!?!?!?
they just. cannot convince their friends that this did not happen. it haunts them. all they wanted was to play beach volleyball. they cant even figure out who started this rumour or where it came from
it calms down for a bit until the allstar match when someone makes a joke about their reunion and Ushiwaka casually goes "Oh, because of their sexual history?" and Oikawa goes absolutely rabid.
Ushijima having nearly fluent English proficiency and the rest of the team is like "sure his dad is in america that makes sense ig" until Shirabu one day is like "wait no his dad is Japanese why would they need to speak English?" and Ushijima is always really confused by their questions. Leon asks like "hey how did you get such good English?" and Ushijima is like "Practice and repetition???" which doesnt help any of them figure out why until they eventually write it off as like "well Ushijima tends to be an overachiever, whatever" and move on. It isn't until Tendou hears Ushijima explain that he did, indeed, learn English because his father moved to America that he's able to piece together that that he doesnt mean "I learned it to communicate with him" but rather "I learned it because I thought I'd be able to go with him," and that evidently that didnt work but the skills stuck around anyway. just in case.
as much as I love Ushiten as like... "Ushijima doesnt process/is unphased by Tendou's weirdness" i think its MUCH BETTER to consider that Tendou is just Ushijima's type. Like its not a "i dont see why people would call you freaky" situation but rather a "FINALLY someone freaky and fucked up time to make him my husband."
“Good luck. And DON’T fuck it up.”
