Y'know, I never feel like my art is improving, then I do something like this and... wow. I did this? The cool part is I didn't even plan on a redraw, I just wanted to draw Foxy on all fours. Then I noticed the pose looked familiar, so I pulled up the original, and it was the exact same thing.
I think a nicer twist to this is that Forkle all but FORCED Elwin to stay quiet. Because Elwin said in Legacy(??) that Sophie deserved to know who her bio parents are. Even if their relationship did take a hit, it might help that Elwin WANTED to tell her.
That said, I'm about 90% sure it isn't Elwin tho.
If Elwin ends up being Sophie’s bio dad (I don’t think he is) it would probably cause like a major rift between them, if that makes sense. Sophie sees him as a father figure and he’s been her doctor for years of her life, in which most of her visits were fatal or just really bad.
I understand that if he was her dad, he wouldn’t be able to reveal himself but regardless it would be painful for Sophie. This is how it is between Sophie and Oralie, when she starts to resent Oralie (I think I’ve forgotten the specifics) once learning she was lied to for years by someone she trusts.
She would most likely have the same reaction if Elwin was her bio dad. And Elwin and Sophie were closer than Sophie and Oralie (makes sense he saw her in almost all of her near death experiences).
In my opinion this would also result in Sophie not going to Elwin’s office when she needs to, just to avoid meeting him. This would make her near death experiences WAY more serious and may end up with a disability or death if not treated (I think, I’m not a doctor obviously)
They had to kill Owen and beru off early because if they found out that anakin became vader they would have beaten the shit out of him and ended the trilogy in 40 minutes
Hi I'm back on this again.
Spoilers for both the Forgotten Lands memory quest and object quest.
I am on the relic quest, and I was baffled at the fact that the Forgotten seemed so close to Scar as a child. I mean, you find a drawing you made IN HIS DOMAIN. It means both you AND him were comfortable enough to lounge together and hang out. This was puzzling, both with how Scar treats you now and how Scar tried to overthrow the Forgotten in the memory of the Dreamscape.
But as I think about it, it doesn't surprise me as much. Because Scar, the most selfish, catty (ha), power-hungry jerk of the Pride Lands, was willing to share the crown with you. He says it in the memory that if you just said yes, he would have let you rule by his side, which is a pretty big allowance considering who we are talking about. Shit, I don't think he let his own NEPHEW co-rule with him. This led me to the conclusion that Scar loves the Player, so much so as to keep them close in his conquest of power and let you draw in his cave.
This got me thinking about Mother Gothel's Dreamscape memory too. Notice how she wasn't trying to lock the Forgotten in the tree because she wanted something from you, like Rapunzel. No, she seemed to actively want to protect you from what she thinks is naivety. She tells you that the world is cruel and dangerous, and, both then and now, seems convinced you aren't quite capable on your own.
Is what either of them doing right? No. But i think it is their perverse expression of love and care. To keep you close while Scar ruled would risk an overthrow, but he's willing to make that concession. It could be that he wants a powerful ally, but how would that explain his actions when you were younger? Vanity, perhaps, but even the villians in the Village seem to care about the Player. Would the fact that he cares in his own, messed up way be so far-fetched? Maybe Gothel is worried about the Valley's state, but she doesn't say anything about the rotting produce when talking to you. Maybe she does just want to protect you, but the way she tries it bad.
I don't know. I'm not even close to done with the relic quest, but the way Mickey's segment of it played out, I was puzzled with how close the Forgotten seemed with the villians at a young age vs the memories when they were older. Maybe the quest will turn out different, but it's just a thought.
really helpful technique ^ once you know how to divide by halves and thirds it makes drawing evenly spaced things in perspective waaay easier:
Hershel Layton, Desmond Sycamore, and (insert third character here)
Examples:
Randall Ascott
Clark Triton
You’re the city’s superhero. Your greatest enemy is the city’s supervillain. However, you’re secretly brothers. This isn’t tragic, though, because your whole destructive rivalry is just a massive prank on your older third brother - the mayor.
I don't have a specific puzzle that makes me want to tear out my hair, but the matchstick puzzles always get to me. They're clever, and I always enjoy the answer when I see it, but it is hard for me to visualize for some reason.
Originally nobody was talking about it, but Rucy posted a detailed list regarding the guidelines themselves. If you want full detail as to what exactly they want, you can go here.
LEVEL 5 has posted guidelines regarding how the content of the Professor Layton games should be shared. Although in Japanese, here is a link to their official Twitter post from their Layton branch. (Here is a link to the post itself in case the twitter one is taken down.)
It means that everything Level 5 related is at risk of being purged. This includes (but is not limited to) cutscenes and (some) gameplay. Yes, although it is only for the Layton series right now, they could push this for other IPs as well.
Originally, I thought to not worry as the guidelines were written in Japanese, therefore via common sense it'd be stupid if they went after English speaking content.
However, things can always change in the future, and after seeing Level 5 taking down an English speaking video featuring Level 5 gameplay just recently, it's enough to raise an eyebrow.
Preferably, archive whatever you feel needs archiving. We don't know a lot of details nor can foretell what the company may do, especially with media in other languages / outside of Japan, but it's best to be safe rather than sorry.
And when making content related to Level 5 on platforms such as YouTube, Tiktok, Instagram, etc, be wary and always have a backup. It's hard to say to also adhere to the guidelines as it's not officially translated, but if that were to happen, you should do that as well.
Hot tip: if your Jedi character says “I have a bad feeling about this” something bad needs to happen.
When anakin says this in the arena in AOTC, like 200 Jedi get killed in the next ten minutes, and a war begins. If the situation looks bad, but is going to resolve itself just fine, your Jedi will have a good feeling about it. You the author, presumably know what is going to happen, and your Jedi’s vague premonitions should act accordingly
