every day you wake up and there's new trans girls in the world. they just realized a little bit ago. isn't that wonderful?
Sun Tzu is so fucking funny to me because for his time he was legitimately a brilliant tactician but a bunch of his insight is shit like "if you think you might lose, avoid doing that", "being outnumbered is bad generally", and "consider lying."
going from watching the life series from joel's perspective to grian's is actually such whiplash.
joel's videos are a comedy or, at the very most, a tragic comedy. his traps all suck, he's already on red, he's so in love with his wife and is in a homoerotic relationship with his teammates. he jumps three blocks to injure himself because it'll hurt grian too and he's just that petty. he shoehorns in bucket clutches and speed bridging any second he gets. his pvp skills are unmatched but every conversation he holds has a 70% chance of being the awkwardest thing you've heard all day.
and then you get to grian and it's a genuine tragedy where there is no escape from the narrative. grian is constantly counting his time, his hearts, his lives. he is maximizing every second he has, strategizing every little thing to try to win despite his first victory being so bitter. he has the highest kill count and everyone he swears to protect dies. he is desperate to latch onto the next person so he is anything but alone but his status as game master isolates him from everybody anyway. it only gets worse as the seasons continue.

I’m losing my mind
I would give absolutely anything for this
Look at me. Listen.
You need to take that adorable transfem in your life—yes, her—and you need to pull her close, press her against you like she’s something precious (because she is). You need to stroke her hair, slow and gentle, let her melt into you like she belongs there. Rub slow circles into her back, let her know she’s safe, that she’s wanted. Hold her like a beloved stuffed animal, like something soft and cherished, like she’s the most natural thing in your arms.
Do you understand me?
Trans girls don’t just need love—they deserve it. They deserve to be held, to be kissed on the forehead like it’s second nature, to be reminded they are not too much or too little or wrong in any way. So take the girls in your life, the ones who make your heart race, the ones who make the world feel brighter just by being in it, and show them. Show them with warmth, with touch, with whispered affection. Let them feel seen.
Because they are your world. And you? You are theirs.
Now go out there and love them properly.
can you believe it guys. silksong. only a tomorrow away
edit: what can i say. i'm always right
yknow it is easy to joke about tumblr memes wreaking havoc on your vocabulary or whatever but when you are around people who are familiar with them it can be genuinely very useful to have a one-syllable noun meaning "unpopular yet heavily marketed streaming service that is going to inevitably go bankrupt in a year or two holding a show you want to watch hostage in the meantime"
hey. look at me. you, person who Calls Everyone Guy. you are NOT going to wait for that trans woman you know to tell you she is uncomfortable with being called Guy. it is an unfortunate truth that trans women are trained not to create boundaries; she does not know if you are going to flip out at her for asking, so she might choose to just let it happen.
you are going to, BY DEFAULT, assume that she does not like being called Guy, Dude, or Bro. if you want, you can ask, but you are going to make it clear that you will accept an answer of "no", okay? default to "girl", ask if theres anything else shes okay with being called. treat the subject as an open conversation. okay? okay. you can go now, but close the door on the way out.
