I recently saw Honor Among Thieves, and Chris Pine’s character, Edgin, doesn’t actually use any bardic abilities. He doesn't cast any spells (except for the thing at the end which anyone could have used), the things that I’ve heard explained as bardic inspiration can be explained away through other things (Holga using the semi-melted axe could just be because it is still functional, Simon attuning to the helm at the last moment is just the “last time is the charm” trope, and Doric now trusting humans makes sense considering the shit that just happened), and any character can learn to perform and play instruments. He might just be a fighter or rouge with performance and instrument proficiencies.
Also I don’t think that Holga uses any Barbarian abilities either. Simon cast magic and notes that he is a wild magic sorcerer, and Doric uses wild shape several time.
All said though, I did really enjoy the movie. I loved the easter eggs, the things from the game (like the owlbear and mimic), and I enjoyed the plot. But I’m still not sure Edgin is actually a bard.
"OK I have a plan to defeat chaos across all planes of Reality! I'm gonna need 2 things...."
"First im gonna need this Hammer."
"Next we give it to this Dwarf. We take cover and wait for the shaking to stop."
What’s the deal with tiny shields?

I was rewatching AoU and . . . people still think of Tony as narcissistic, uncaring and arrogant??? After seeing that movie??? a lot of Tony antis blab on and on about AoU and I just . . . Tony? The same Tony I just watched?
Tony, the one who when cursed by Wanda to see one of his biggest fears, sees his team dead? Sees aliens overtaking earth and the avengers lifeless, but himself alive? Who viewed his survival as just as bad as their death?
Tony, who Nick told, “you’ve invented a lot of cool things. War is not one of them” to?? Who Nick saw was hurting and regretful and tried to comfort rather than tell off??? Like damn how sad do you have to be for Nick Fury to comfort you rather than say you’re an idiot???
Tony, who was fully willing to die to save Sokovia? Who stayed behind the longest with Thor (who barely counts because he’s essentially indestructible) to ensure everyone was safe?
Tony, who didn’t mock Clint for the farm but rather envied it? Who did household chores and was respectful to Laura?
Tony, who acknowledged Steve’s leadership and didn’t try to place himself as team captain but instead differed to Steve unless he felt it would end in casualties?
Tony, who lost JARVIS, arguably one of the closest people to him, to Ultron but didn’t even have time to grieve before the fight?
Tony, who made sure Steve was happy before he felt he could leave a life that had only brought him pain?
bg3 canon modern au we can’t stop winning
Honestly, at this point, they can't do him justice. He story is entwined with Thor and Asgard's so much that if the MCU tried to adapt Beta Ray Bill, he'd end up a different character.
In the three origin stories for him I've seen (comic, Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and The Super Hero Squad Show) he enters the story by kicking Thor's ass, before doing the impossible and being the first person (other than Thor) to lift Mjolnir. He then goes on to earn himself a new hammer (given by Odin in both the comic and Earth's Mightiest Heroes versions, and by Mjolnir is Super Hero Squad) named Stormbreaker, and become Thor's sworn brother.
Bill is also thoroughly connected to Marvel's version of Ragnarök. Surtur destroyed Korbin, Bill's homeworld, (except in The Super Hero Squad Show continuity) and Thor meets Bill on a ship full of Korbinite refugees who are in stasis. Later on, Bill fights alongside the Asgardians during Ragnarök, before Thor teleports him away, as he doesn't wish to see Bill die and believes Bill should be with his people.
In the current comics, Stormbreaker has been destroyed and Bill wields Surtur's sword, Twilight. However even if the MCU gave Bill this weapon, I don't think it will work, as most of Bill's character development and story, happed with or alongside Thor's. I wish we could have gotten the "Ballad of Beta Ray Bill" storyline in Thor: Ragnarök instead of the "Planet Hulk" lite stuff we did get.
