You had just finished another long day at work. You were tired, and bit cranky since you had a paper due the next day that you weren’t feeling strongly about.

You got onto the bus and decided to sit all the way in the back so you could rest quietly until you reached your stop.

You had slowly drifted away into dream land.

You felt a tap on your shoulder.

“Y/n”

You slowly rose your head up and looked out the window to see you made it back to your university. You turned your head to see who was calling your name and it was none other than the phone finder. Jaemin.

“Oh! I didn’t even realize I fell asleep”

“I figured”

Instead of walking away he stood there waiting for you to gather your things, “d-do you want to walk with me”

“Sure Jaemin, I’m suprised this is our first time interacting like this since we take the same bus.”

You hopped up and followed him outside, “I’m so hungry.”

You weren’t saying that to make conversation, you actually were. You didn’t expect Jaemins response though.

“You’re probably tired of the food options here, I usually cook my own food if you want to eat that instead”

“You mean-”

“Yeah come up to my dorm” he smiled at you.

He wasn’t as shy as you thought he was.

“Okay” You look down at the ground feeling a bit shy.

While walking to his dorm you had conversations about majors and minors and what each other’s goals are in life.

You were now sitting at a table in his dorm watching him cook, “I didn’t know you were a chef”

He chuckled, “My parents taught me a lot of recipes before I came here. This is my first time cooking for someone else other than me or my roommate though”

“Oh, so you don’t bring all your other girls up? I feel special.”

“No no no there are no other girls, I’ve never even had a girlfriend”

“I’m messing with you, plus I’ve never even been on a date”

“Really? Thats suprising” He brought your plate over to you.

“Jaemin, this looks and smells so good! I don’t know the last time I had a true home cooked meal”

Jaemin smiled, “enjoy” he sat with his plate infront of you

“Wait, I need to take a picture of this”

“Use my phone and send it to yourself”

“Ok” you grabbed his phone off the table and snapped the picture, “Wait, is this you trying to get my phone number”

“You might want my food again”, he shrugged.

You couldn’t wait any longer and took a bite, “Jaemin! This is amazing!”

He smiled.

“No, seriously this is like food network worthy”

“Don’t give me a big head”

You laughed and went back on his phone to send the picture to you, “Give me your passwor- oh wait it’s unlocked”

“It is?”

You nodded your head, not thinking much of it.

“Y/n”

“Hmm” You were typing in your number, “I expect you to invite me to your restaurant when it opens”

“Y/n!”

You looked up, “what?”

“Turn my phone off”

“Okay…” you click the button, confused.

“Is it locked?”

There it was. That question took you back to reality. The question that came in the back of your head yesterday at the library found its way into your thoughts again. You nodded your head.

“Try to unlock it”

You tried to act clueless, “what with my thumb?”

“Yes y/n try the fingerprint”

The room was quiet. You could hear the low ac. You could hear each other’s hearts beating. If you can open his phone, you’re his soulmate. Hes your soulmate. The person you’ll fall in love with and spend the rest of your life with.

You place your finger on his phone’s home button. You look up at him, secretly wishing it opens.

You look down at his phone and gasp, “it opened” You stood up from the table in shock. Him following to do the same thing.

Jaemin let out almost a sigh of relief, but still looked incredibly nervous.

“Y/n, you’re my… my soulmate.”

“So that means my phone wasn’t unlocked yesterday. Your thumb just touched my home button”

“Y/n”

“Yes” you felt jittery. Happy it was him but also anxious.

“Earlier, you said you’ve never been on a date, do you want this to be your first date?”

You smiled, “I’d really love that”

Jaemin made the first move to hug you, “I cant wait to spend my life with you”
