Depeche Mode: “People Are People” German green marbled 12″ (1984)
Fans say Depeche Mode are the gateway to industrial (and goth) as their associated favorites are The Cure, Bauhaus, Joy Division / New Order, Nine Inch Nails, and many others. But are they industrial? Well, Dave Gahan and Company would always look for kitchens for whichever recording studio they visited. There, they’d throw pots, pans, utensils, and other metallics while recording for their rhythms and sound effects. Einsturzende Neubauten they are not, but “People Are People” does have that labor and factory flavor to it, so whatever your black heart decides.
Germany’s second vinyl variant and its second in a 12″ is pressed marble green and without the flouride.
