annoying fun facts that i hate.
This is ignoring that steam engines were first used in the 1600s so while annoying, coal was already a precident
democrats and republicans just voted together to censure Rashida Tlaib, the only Palestinian American serving in the US federal government, for calling out the Israeli government’s genocide of Palestinians and Biden’s complicity. you can read her statement here.
they fear us. they know most Americans are calling for a ceasefire. they know the real power lies in the hands of the people. don’t stop talking about Palestine, boycotting, protesting. free Palestine.
I'm reading about how Israel, in the immediate aftermath of the 1948 Nakba, deliberately replaced olive trees and other indigenous flora with European plants. This ecological disaster, which is now proudly hailed under the banner of 'making the desert bloom,' was done to 'de-Arabize' the landscape, and to cover up - often with fast-growing European pine trees -the ruins of Palestinian villages that were destroyed by Zionists forces.
And I just need everyone to read this passage from Pappé, because the symbolism of what happened to those European pine trees in the desert speaks for itself:
The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine, by Ilan Pappé (2006, p. 227-228.)

@laheyspells: i work at starbucks for a similar reason (their benefits) and they’re doing a bogo deal for ANY drink and more coupons are showing up on the app that i’ve never seen before. they’re desperate pls keep doing what you’re doing
@Rav3n_Sk0ll: I work at McDonalds (not by choice, personal struggles and family struggles with money, unable to quit) And I’ll tell you less and less people have been coming in, less and less sales, it’s noticeable, so don’t think it’s not working or happening I’ve seen it. KEEP DOING IT.
at the risk of sounding like a raving lunatic, i think one of my favorite trekkie memes/posts is that one where someone comments on a screenshot of tos and asks if sulu is texting, because it PERFECTLY encapsulates star trek's strange little place at the intersection of pop culture and the tech world:
like listen... 55+ years ago a bunch of actors had to use a mix of existing habits and wild imagination to come up with what they felt would be believable movements and muscle-memory for someone using completely unbelievable tech a few hundred years in the future. like tv had less than ten channels and the screen was a foot across, and they had to go "ok how would someone who's used to a tiny wireless gadget with a screen hold it and use it? how would they talk to a computer? how would the computer sound when she talked back?"
and over half a century later our own tech has surpassed the clunky retrofuture gizmos in so many ways, no doubt inspired by it, that now someone two decades into the 21st century sees an actor in the 60s holding some tiny rectangular plastic prop in both hands and immediately recognizes it as "oh, sulu's texting!" now THAT is a called shot. hell, that's putting your money on a roulette wheel in a casino that hasn't been built yet. i LOVE it. it's so star trek. sulu is absolutely texting.

In the first mission of Slipsand Galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy 2, Mario or Luigi must slide down an extremely long slope. After they begin sliding, cylindrical Thwomp-like enemies called Rhomps appear from behind and attempt to squash them by rolling over them.
If the player is playing as Luigi and performs an extremely precise long jump just as Luigi is about to be rolled over by a Rhomp, Luigi will gain immense speed that will catapult him into the air as seen in the footage.
Unfortunately, there is no way for the player to slow down Luigi at that point, so that after flying far enough to exit the regular gameplay area, Luigi will leave the boundaries of the galaxy, and die.

If even after all of this, after all the evidence that what Israel is doing and has done shouldn't be supported by anyone who's sane, you STILL think anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism, then I don't know what to tell you except that you're just being willfully ignorant.
The reason for the Oct 7th operation by the Palestinian resistance according to Lebanese politician Hassan Fadlallah
In short, there is an Israeli plan to completely ethnically cleanse Gaza by forcing its people to flee to the Sinai Desert, giving Israel access to a gas basin in northern Gaza (the Israeli army has been forcing Gazans to flee the northern part of their city). According to Hassan Fadlallah, the plan was going to be carried out in November of this year. So Operation Al Aqsa Flood was a preemptive attack to prevent this.
