Do y’all ever wonder if post-pit Jason gets phantom pain - not in the sense that missing a limb or anything but in that he was severely tortured and died and spent years being malnourished and his brain still remembers that pain, but the pit wiped it clean from his body. But his brain remembers. And sometimes his brain misfires and forgets for a second that his body been changed, that’s he’s not still that malnourished kid who got beat with a crowbar. Do you ever think his bones ache, or he bumps into to things because his mind thinks he’s still 4 foot 6 and not some hulk of a man, or he’ll get random hunger pains that make him double over despite being well-nourished and eating regularly? Do you ever wonder if Jason gets days of dysphoria, where he can’t even stand to look at himself because he can’t recognize the person staring back at him?

I need more people to acknowledge that bruce is not gonna be a great parent, but i'll be damned if he doesn't try

His parents are dead, and as far as I've seen, the only real, not-explicitly-toxic relationship he has is with Alfred, his butler

and remember that, at least for a long while, as much as Alfred cared, he still drew a very clear (sometimes limiting) line between them as butler-and-master

so no Bruce does not know what he is doing with any of his relationships, familial or romantical

and no he probably will never really learn

he's going to make absoulutely horrible, relationship-ending choices, but can you truly look me in the eye and say that any batman does not truly love and value every single relationship he is in (asides from when dc butchers everyone's personalities)

so I need to see more fics like this,

a bruce who tries and fails,

who does not know how to deal with any of this,

and so hides behind a mask or a doof smile, uses his persona to try to deal with it, to try to cope

a broken batman who doesn't know what's wrong with him but desperately wants to fix it, only, if only, just to maintain whatever semblance of love he gets from his friends, his kids

maybe that's why he has so many, desperately searching for any warmth in the innocent's child eyes

A non-comprehensive list of wrong words I've seen in fics:

Rogue and Rouge - very common in superhero fics

Offal and awful - only seen this twice, both in Harry Potter fics

Weary and Wary - to be WEARY is to be tired, worn out. To be WARY is to treat with suspicion.

Definitely and defiantly - I do this all the time and have to go back to fix it

Bare and bear - The character probably doesn't have a bear chest. Probably.

Passed and past - Also guilty of this one

Manner and manor - lots of Batman fics have this one

Bubble, bauble, bobble - I can't remember the fic but I saw all three of these used in a paragraph to describe Christmas ornaments

Dual and duel - Another common one for Harry Potter

Chord and cord - also weirdly common?

Scalding and scolding - Scalding hot, scolding voice

Loosing and losing - You can loose a knot but you lose a fight

Threesome and trio - I KNOW what the fic writer was trying to say but these days the two have very different connotations

Cryptid and cryptic - So often. SO OFTEN. Especially in Danny Phantom fics

Waste and waist - This always shows up in character descriptions and it transcends fandom

We all make mistakes but some of these are so common I actually googled to see if I was wrong XD

BEGGING Batman/Batfam ff authors to learn the difference between rouge and rogue. For my sake. Please. (I use a screen reader and it switches it into French half the time)

I dont understand how people think “but they killed people!” Is everrrr going to convince me to hate a fictional character. I actually like them more because they killed people. In fact, its the main thing I like about them. I would cheer with pom-poms at the mere implication of them killing again.
