I've been struggling with the redesign for a long time, not really knowing what to add to Charlie, 'cause there are so many options! But I still realized to some extent what I wanted.
In my redesign, I wanted Charlotte to look as cute and friendly as possible, so I added pastel colors and soft silhouette shapes to her. And also my, like, headcanon, that Charlie is trying to look friendly and nice to sinners. But because she's a hell-born creature, she doesn't really understand what humans consider cute, which makes her look a little scary and uncanny.
But Valkyrie (aka Vaggie) helps her with learning how to look cute and friendly.
An old sketch in which I tried to redesign Beelzebub and Asmodeus.
At that time, I wanted Bee to be a bee (no pun intended), not a hybrid. That's why she's bee here.
Dragon riders as ponies. Ugh, it was hard for me to come up with Fishlegs and Snotlout cutiemarks. It was difficult to finish drawing the twins, cause I was too lazy to draw them. But, fortunately, I finished them all.
Concepts of the redesign of Angel Dust (need to work on his outfit)!
And of Charlie! I'm trying not to deviate too much from the original design, just to add details to it so that it looks more interesting.
What do you guys think?
Y'know, I have a couple of problems with Lucifer. I don't like how the Lord of Hell himself, the personification of pride, was made some kind of misunderstood sweet goofball. Like, why does this nice guy personify pride? Well, the sin that made him a fallen angel. I just hope that later on in the show it turns out that Lucifer and Lilith told their daughter an untrue version of their story. That Lucifer was not a misunderstood sweet goofball, that his ideas were really dangerous, that he was not the best angel. But these are my hopes. In the meantime, I will tell you a rewritten version of the story of Lucifer, so that he really was the personification of pride. I must say right away that I personally haven't read the Bible (like Vivien), I have only heard a retelling of the story about the Fall of Lucifer, and I will rely more on the version from the show. In short, you'll figure it out later. In my version, Lucifer is a kind of control freak. He considered himself the most competent of all the angels, believed that only he could do the job properly, believed that only he had the best ideas, but he didn't listen to others and didn't want to listen. Other angels, of course, didn't like him and decided not to allow this tyrant to create the Earth, and then people. This couldn't help but anger Lucifer. Therefore, to prove that he was the rightmost, he secretly entered Eden and persuaded Eve to taste the forbidden fruit. Because he thought it was better for humans to know about good, evil, and so on. He believed that he knew better what was best for others. But the plan failed, Adam and Eve were kicked out of Eden, and Lucifer and Lilith (I didn't talk about her because I didn't know how to fit her into the story) were sent to hell, and you know the rest yourself. Lucifer fell because of pride, because he believed that he knew better, and refused to think otherwise or listen to others. When he first became the ruler of hell, he gave sinners the freedom to do whatever they wanted without any consequences, still believing that he was doing the right thing. But later he began to understand what mistakes he had made, seeing that people, that sinners, were doing brutal deeds. And now he has to watch the consequences of his mistakes every single day, that's what his punishment is. That's all. Thanks for reading this messy fanfiction.
Sometimes I wonder what Astrid's name would be if her parents followed the tradition of Berk — giving children disgusting names to scare off trolls (or goblins, I don't remember)? Axegirl? Sharpthorn?... Skullcrasher?...... uh...... Asstrid?
I'm sorry, I can't make up names.
Why does he have such a stupid charming smile?! Argh!!!
I drew this a long time ago, about a year ago, probably. I suddenly remembered about this art and felt that the world should see it.
Edit: why is it getting so much attention?
Idk, you can call me picky, but to be honest, I don't really like this joke. I immediately remember those not funny jokes about «wife is bad, marriage sucks», and I don't like these vibes.
Y'all know, it would be nice if the Hazbin Hotel had a character through whom viewers could seamlessly explore the lore of this universe (yes, I know there are so many characters, but in my opinion, such a character could well be). It could be a newly arrived sinner who came to the hotel, cornyly afraid of everything going on in hell. And since they doesn't know the hell here, just like an audience, they could ask important questions about the structure of the world, like: who are overlords? what happens to a sinner if they are killed by angelic weapons? what areas is the circle of pride divided into? and the like.
Important remark: the character is not the main protagonist, but a secondary character.
