This is an edit of L'Heure du silence, an 1897 work by Henri Georges J. I. Meunier. I took a photo of my keffiyeh (a present from the same friend I am raising money for) and edited it to match the print. I also gave her a vintage key, a common symbol in the Palestinian struggle for the right of return (حق العودة), the principle that refugees have the right to return to the property they were forced off of.
As usual, ALL PROCEEDS from this design are for my Palestinian best friend, to help his girlfriend afford to join him safely in America and to help his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the increasing Israeli raids in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries.
For now his girlfriend is safe, plans are underway and we hope to see her here in not too long. His immediate family is safe for now. His extended family not so much unfortunately. We likely won't know the extent of how bad it is until things calm down a little. I will note that a lot of his loved ones who have been hurt are in the West Bank, not Gaza. If you have not been paying attention to the situation in the West Bank you should take a look, it's getting pretty bleak there too. I will keep things vague to respect his privacy.
You can buy the design above on various products (shirts, stickers, etc) here. All designs found here (Redbubble will show you a random product, click on each to see more product options). Thank you to everyone who has helped out so far!
Sharing some of my birds again since they have been some of my more popular fundraiser designs, particularly on stickers. The dove, sunbird and bulbul are also some of the works I'm most proud of artistically, being hand drawn and edited in sketchbook and not making use of any open source assets or fancy tools or anything. I'm not much of an artist but I poured a lot of extra energy into trying to improve this year because it seemed like a good way to earn some money for my friend and a good place to put my extra energy when I was too worried about him to focus on my research.
As usual EVERYTHING I RAISE is for my best friend to support his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the raids and economic devastation in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries.

Did you know NASA makes their astrophotography open source? They're one of my favorite resources. Since I started fundraising for my Palestinian friend I haven't looked at using them as much, but I'm still trying to mix these beautiful photos into my designs occasionally. This James Webb photo shows the Wolf–Rayet star WR 124 and the nebula M1–67. The above design can be found HERE. Some examples (shirts, sticker, acrylic block, notebook and pin):
As usual ALL PROCEEDS from my shop go to my Palestinian best friend to help him support his girlfriend in remaining safely in America until things calm down and to help his other loved ones around the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the raids in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries. He will donate anything his family doesn't need to the Palestinian charities he works with.
It turns out that Redbubble collections cap out at 100 products, so I have temporarily removed my handful of products not related to Palestine and from now on I will dedicate my whole shop to this. My designs can be found here on my main page.
Here's one other astrophotography design I have in my collection:
Thank you to everyone who has helped out so far!
I made this flag with old open source art nouveau patterns.
As usual ALL PROCEEDS from my shop are for my Palestinian best friend to help him support his loved ones. I've recently learned that some of the money I've raised has made it through to people he has in Gaza to help them purchase food, I'm very happy to hear this.
Here are a few sample product photos with this design, all products found here:
You can find my full shop here. To see a design on different products click on the display product and scroll down or go here to browse by design. I try to use a wide range of different styles so there's something for everyone. Here are some examples:

No new design approvals seem to be happening with the holiday, so here are my most popular Palestine designs so far (shown here on stickers):
I want to thank everyone who has pitched in to help my best friend. For those who have not seen my posts my best friend in the world is Palestinian, and a lot of his friends and family all around the Levant are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the increasing Israeli raids in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries (West Bank stuff in particular has been rough for them). We're also on limited budgets as grad students, and I really don't want him to feel pressured to neglect school to support his family. He's an absolutely brilliant scientist and deserves to be able to focus on his research (as well as he can through the emotional toll this has taken of course). So, I'm selling Palestine related art and ALL PROCEEDS will go to him to help him get his loved ones through this. Honestly I didn't expect fundraising like this to do anything, but you all have been amazing!
I have a really happy update, his girlfriend should be arriving here in America imminently! You all helped pay for her flight and are helping cover their housing, so thank you so much! I really hope you are all enjoying the stickers, shirts, mugs and all the other stuff you have bought! From now on all money raised goes to supporting her stay here and continuing to give my friend the means to help his family back home. Anything he doesn't end up needing he is planning on donating to the various Palestinian charities he works with.
All designs above (and a ton more) are found here (Redbubble will show you a random product, click on each to see more product options). They're available on stickers, shirts, pins, and many other products. Some examples:
The pinkwashing of the genocide in Palestine is ridiculous. First of all gay rights is not an excuse for killing little kids, at all. Beyond that though, opinions on homosexuality are far from a monolith in the region. My Palestinian best friend and his very traditional, religious family are not homophobic in the slightest. My own white American family took decades longer to come around on gay rights than they did. Would it have been okay to bomb a large portion of the south in the 90s? Should my husband have been killed as a child for being born into a very standard (and very homophobic) sect of Christianity around then? Large swaths of Palestine are roughly where America was not so long ago. Laws are ambiguous (because occupation), some people are cool with gay people, some aren't, many don't really have an opinion. Some areas have a visible queer subculture, some don't. It varies, just like everywhere.
NONE OF THIS could justify the current violence (and PLENTY of queer Palestinians are being killed right now), but I think it's particularly absurd because Palestine really isn't that different than we were not so long ago, and most of us can agree the indiscriminate slaughter of Texans a few decades back would have been bad. Israeli propaganda would have you believe every Arab wants all gay people dead. This is ridiculous.
For more on gay rights in Palestine look at Al Qaws.
In light of this I have added this simple design to my shop (click here), I've seen a few people here expressing they want something like this for protests.
ANY AND ALL PROCEEDS from Palestine related sales through my Redbubble shop will go to my Palestinian best friend (same one mentioned above) to help him bring his girlfriend over to America. Any left over will be used to help his family/other loved ones affected by the war.
Recently this tatreez + keffiyeh design in my fundraiser has been selling well so I wanted to reshare it:
As always EVERYTHING I EARN from my shop is for my best friend, a Palestinian grad student living in America. The money is sent home to support his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the raids and economic devastation in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries.
This design has been particularly popular on less common products recently, like phone cases. Here are some example products:
You can find the design here. The keffiyeh is an open source pattern, the tatreez I drew in FlossCross.
Here is a sample of my other work:
You can find all of my work in my shop HERE. You can filter by product with the menu on the left side of the page or go here to browse by design. Generally stickers are the most popular (and have the best profit margins for the fundraiser).
Thank you so much to everyone who has helped out! We really appreciate the support.
A woodcut style dove wearing a keffiyeh over a poppy. The official national flower of Palestine as of 2016 actually seems to be the Faqqu’a iris, but many people will tell you that it's the poppy. Regardless of how official it is (often a vague thing when it comes to national symbols anyway) the poppy is an important national emblem for Palestine. It features the four colors of the flag (black, white, red and green) and is also said to represent blood shed on the land. Honestly I see it used a lot more than the iris (though both are lovely plants).

Design cut from from "Traité historique et pratique de la gravure en bois" by Jean Michel Papillon, 1766. I really prefer this one on the notebooks (pictured here) and stickers! Shop: https://www.redbubble.com/shop/ap/152993630
This translates to "Palestine in our hearts". Poppies are common in Palestine and are often used as a symbol, representing the colors of the flag and blood shed upon the land.
As usual ALL PROCEEDS from my shop are for my Palestinian best friend to help him support his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the raids and economic devastation in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries. You can find this design here, it's a pretty good size and shape for printing as a poster. Here are some various product examples:

As always ALL PROCEEDS from my shop are for my best friend who is Palestinian. The extra income will help him support his friends and family in Palestine and around the rest of the Levant who are being hurt directly and/or financially by the attacks on Gaza, the raids and economic devastation in the West Bank and the collateral damage in surrounding countries.

Starving grad student running a small Redbubble shop (initially for side income, now for fundraising for my Palestinian friend). Made this blog to share my designs, found here: https://www.redbubble.com/people/fairiedance/shopMy best friend (an absolutely brilliant scientist and compassionate social activist, seriously the best person ever) is a Palestinian grad student studying in America, and a lot of his friends and family are being affected by the genocide in Gaza and the fallout in the West Bank and surrounding areas. I have started selling Palestine related designs in my shop. EVERYTHING I RAISE he sends to his loved ones to help in various ways as the situation progresses.Designs not related to Palestine have been removed from my shop for now (probably for good at this point).
