Thinking about them (Taash)
Cottage. Quiet | Chapter 02 [ Ao3 Link ] [ ch. 01 ] [ ch. 02 ] Word Count: 4500 Rating: 16+ Summary: After a heart to heart with Ma', Taash and Harding visit their local market.
If you enjoy the fic, please consider leaving a kudos or a comment. It does help me stay motivated!
Authors Notes under the cut.
Authors Notes: This chapter went through a few different outlines before I settled in on this one. I thank @grimrevolution for helping guide me in the right direction. The Good: I pushed through and finished it. Usually I drop projects once I start, but I actually feel like this will be a fun project to keep up with. I've met so many great people on here who are insanely talented writers, and they've been nothing but supportive. It's giving me motivation to keep up with my practice. This fic is still just me living out my sapphic farm fantasies through the two. I don't know why I adore the two as much as I does, but I does. The Hard: It's been a challenge to combat imposter syndrome and feelings of inadequacy. Teaching myself how to not compare, but to observe and learn. Always practice. Self-growth or some shit.
Cottage. Quiet | Chapter 02 [ Ao3 Link ] [ ch. 01 ] [ ch. 02 ] [ch. 03] Word Count: 4500 Rating: 16+ Summary: Ma, Harding, and Taash deal with an unwelcome guest.
This one took a little while longer to get out than usual. My writer's block seems to be flaring up and I'm a little emotionally shaken, but it's out! I think I'll take the next chapter to finish off some light fluff and filler, and then fall back strong with where I'm hoping my story to go.
As always, thanks for reading! I really appreciate every single one of you.

I don’t understand Taash hate
I don’t know if I’ve said this before but I occasionally see people say “oh Taash is rude and mean, and they don’t respect others yet expect respect with their pronouns”
The respect part especially gets me because correct me if I’m wrong Taash never demands respect from anyone except maybe the Dragon King and their mom. Even with their pronouns, I don’t even think they do as much as correct anyone even in the scene with Isabela when they get it wrong
They’re not even rude either because like a lot of times when they’re talking about what other companions do, for example Emmirich’s “death mage stuff” and “corpse stuff”, it’s very clear, or very clear to me, they are saying it like that because they don’t know anything about it, the same way I would call what an IT guy does “computer stuff”
(Also used Emmirich specifically as an example because I’ve noticed Emmirich girlies, no offense to Emmirich girlies, get really defensive about anything that’s even sorta negative towards him. Seen it with Taash and Harding’s interactions with him but this is off topic.)
And if Taash is too mean of a companion for you to even consider liking them??? Bro this the game being criticized for everyone being too nice if they’re too mean I think you’d go into cardiac arrest hearing any companion dialogue from the previous 3 games. Not specifically someone like Morrigan or Fenris literally any of them
Honestly the way Taash acted in Veilguard reminded me of how Karlach acts in BG3 except Taash is just a lot more chill and less energetic
Also to say Taash has the worst story in the game is insane when Harding’s exists (no disrespect to Harding I just think that her questline sucks)
Back on the Emmirich topic except it’s on topic with Taash, Taash being weirded out or cautious about the shit Emmirich does is literally the most normal reaction to Necromancy.
I am Ahmed Hammad, 26 years old 🍉
married, and I have a child that I had two months ago.
I have lost many members of my family, including my father, brother, and sister, as a result of the war on my country, Gaza.
I used to work as a cleaner at Shuhada al-Aqsa Hospital, where I was injured by the bombing two weeks ago.
I can't support my family and my little child is malnourished.
I now live with my wife, mother, and son in an unlivable tent.
I can't work, I can't provide treatment for my sick mother, and I fear for my child's future. I want him to live a normal life.
I am unable to protect my child and my mother. I hope that you will help us, save us, and save my child from this war. Please help us. We cannot escape this tragedy.
After I got hurt, I can't work to provide the simplest things like food and healthy water, everything here is expensive, other than that, my baby needs care greatly, he needs formula (because he does not breastfeed from his mother naturally due to health problems in his mother)
Every day, my baby needs formula
Needs diapers
Needs winter clothes
It also needs a place to live in to settle in that is livable and has no diseases or insects
Thank you❤️
I hope you donate to us
Everyone who donates $20 will save my child and save us all. I hope you will help us.
Donate even if it is a little
I think where the “you’re just mad people are critiquing a game you like” crowd gets me the most is that I’ve read all their critiques. I was legitimately surprised on my first run that some people took Veilguard so personally and were vitriolic so I went through and read what they were saying because I was like “what did I miss?” That’s my first instinct when something confuses me is to dig. (Oh hey I applied this to the game too! Crazy!)
And when I started breaking down what they were saying was when I started getting annoyed because their arguments were either in such bad faith, reductive, or just plain wrong. Like Orientalism in the game? Fair! But I have not seen talk of that get anywhere near the amount of traction as “Solas should have torn down the Veil and him and Lavellan should have had elf supremacy together and they didn’t so game bad.” “I missed a bunch of stuff then blamed BioWare.” Or “I didn’t like how it played out so writing bad.” Or “They didn’t say the Maker enough and I counted.” That last one is my favorite. Oh and “the language is too modern” and they’re specifically talking about Taash because they don’t want to admit nonbinary people make them uncomfortable.
But wow I don’t see that energy from the other side at all. I don’t see them even trying to understand or read why people like the game. I try to encourage people to read your meta write ups as well as my own and they either just want to pick a fight because I have the audacity to love the game rather than hear me out or step outside of that negativity for like two seconds. Here we are two months later and they’re still acting like Veilguard broke into their house and beat them up and stole their sixty bucks then took a piss on the old games.
do y'all ever have inside jokes with like. yourself. yeah you can't fuck him you'll end up on the ceiling... incomprehensible
not to be dramatic or anything but this makes me wanna commit crimes
i feel like i would be fixed if i could just sit and listen to taash infodump about dragons for four hours while i nap. preferably while cuddling. that would make me whole i think
