"came back wrong" what about Came Back Afraid. You used to be brave. Too brave maybe, defying the odds at every turn, a fighter, cocky, playing with fire, first to throw yourself at the enemy. Until one day it all caught up to you. You came back, somehow, but now you know all too intimately how it feels to lose, to die, to be destroyed. Now you flinch and freeze and cower at the slightest provocation. Who even are you now if you can't be brave? The grave may have let you go, but the mortal fear still grips you tighter than ever.

I realized that every time I do art for my fic I can never keep Akari's design straight, so I finally sat down and made a character ref sheet for myself.

Anyways if you happen to be curious about what this is about, I recommend checking out my fanfic Tightening the Hinge, a time-travel fix-it retelling of PLA where an adult Akari is sent back in time by Giratina to redeem Volo through the Power of Friendship. Things begin going sideways immediately. Giratina is not having a good time (but Volo absolutely is).

i dreamt that Pokémon ZA came out and there was already a Tumblr post with a screenshot of the game where AZ says "I came to acquire this hotel when the previous owner passed away" but his model just had the same blank eyed smile the trainers usually do in idle and the post zoomed in on his expression and was captioned "did you kill that man, az." and then someone reblogged it captioned "you're looking in the wrong direction" and it was zoomed in on floette with an equally empty smile. implying floette killed that man.

Dragongirl kidnaps a maid instead of a princess by mistake; comes back to her lair after a hunt to find the coins and gems in her hoard have been organized into neat piles sorted by type, value, and kingdom of origin.

I love how a common solution for when you don’t know who to ship Luigi with, is to just ship him with everyone 

I wish I could write fics, because I DESPERATELY want a fic where like both Bowser and King Boo decide to break in to kidnap Luigi one night, but they accidentally do it the same night.

So Luigi just wakes up to them fighting in his room and he just assumes he's still asleep so he doesn't really react much, because this is the weirdest dream he's ever had.

And then both of them are yelling at Luigi to ask which one he PREFERS kidnapping him, like a competition, and keep being like "WELL MY CASTLE HAS LAVA SO HE CAN BE WARM IN THE CAGE!!!" "HE WILL DECORATE MY MANSION IN THE PAINTING ON THE MANTELPIECE!!!" Etc etc.

And Luigi, assuming he is asleep because this is too weird to be reality, just goes "I don't even WANT-a to know what my subconscious is-a trying to tell me." And lays down to go back to sleep, confounding both Bowser and King Boo.

It would also be hilarious if they both decide to just stay the night, because neither of them want to be the first to leave and let the other one win. And so when Luigi wakes up and they're still there he's like "THAT WASN'T A DREAM???!"

Cue both Bowser and King Boo trying to out-rizz each other to Luigi, like "Do you regularly dream about me?" "CLEARLY HE MEANS ME!"

listen ok i get it. i get that giving luigi thunderhand in brothership would be way too overpowered in a world designed around electricity. i understand. but wouldn't it have been funny for luigi to be able to instantly solve everyone's problems because he has access to unlimited electrical power

Look I love unconditional devotion love stories as much as the next person, but there's really something so deliciously raw about conditional devotion.
