How many times do you think Zoro lost him in their previous lives?

Luffy and Zoro interaction was perfect on episode 1127!!
Luffy laughing and kicking his feet bc he was happy to see Zoro and asking him if he wanted his help. And of course, Zoro denied his help while also told him to focus on his own opponent.
I love them!!
Watching Luffy scream his voice hoarse as Zoro gets eaten by that flower thing in the Baron Omatsuri movie was my ZoLu Roman Empire.
And then canon events duplicated that desperate scream with Kizaru v. Zoro at Sabaody.
Honestly, both events were traumatizing, but bless your ZoLu biases, Oda-sensei.
Also, I just LOVE that while Zoro is the crew’s strong, fierce protector, Luffy is also SO PROTECTIVE OF ZORO! We need more protective Luffy fics where he saves/spoils Zoro. Get to work, writers!!!
The whole way down to fishman island, zoro and luffy are attached at the hip and eagerly attempting to show off their cool new moves to eachother and i think that’s neat.

Sometime in the hashira training arc, when Tanjiro got busy helping everyone gain their slayer mark, Inosuke started to get jealous and lonely about it. He never said anything because he knew preparing for the battle was more important, but he couldn’t stand not having any of him. So, one night, he went through Tanjiro’s stuff and stole the old hilt to his sword. He reasoned that he wouldn’t miss it, he has a new one- a more important one, so he doesn’t feel bad when he takes the beat up piece of metal. He keeps it in his pockets and clenches it when he gets nervous, and waits for the war to end so he can hold Tanjiro’s hand next.

thinking about how none of the strawhats have ever known a luffy without zoro.
everyone joined the crew to witness this oddly content and peaceful, terrifying duo. their dynamic is sweet and funny, almost gentle, something you would expect from childhood friends who have been next to each other for so long they don’t always need words. and then again, they are something else when they are in battle.
they trust each other like they are extensions of themselves, they know each other inside and out like they are telepathic, they get each other so completely.
i’m sure everyone who joined the crew looked at them and must’ve thought at one point that there has never been a time where they have not known each other. until nami tells them, oh, they met a few weeks before i joined.
the shock that must come from learning their bond is nearly as young as all of theirs, and not a product of existing next to each other for years.
how baffling it must be to watch them save each other like it’s breathing, to rely on each other without question or thought in fights, and to realise they only spent such a marginal time alone before everyone else began to join them.
to never know a luffy without zoro, or a zoro without luffy, it must be hard to ever imagine a time where they weren’t by each other’s side.
