Fun fact about Bernice and Thatch

This is a fun little fact that I wanted to share with you peeps here because I don't think I ever really did before. Sooo, allow me to go into detail about it now. I think that a lot of people don't understand why I themed Bernice's outfit the way I did. (Granted, I only draw her in the striped and dotted turtleneck, but she does have other long sleeves she wears. I just forget to actually draw them and default to her turtleneck, lol) So, allow me to enlighten you peeps a bit here! Looking at Thatch and Bernice, Obviously there's a lot different about them. Bernice has a Devil fruit, usually dresses fairly warm, tends to keep her hair messier, but withing reason, and has her outfit themed more around a darker purple and black color palette. (With a few splashes of either white or yellow depending on the outfits.) Something I think a lot of people fail to realize is just how cold it would get sailing all the time. You can argue that 'it wouldn't be cold' or that 'most everyone would be used to colder wind coming off the sea', but you have to think as well that something like that wouldn't be the same case for everyone. Especially if you're on different ships. Depending on how fast the wind is moving would depend on how fast the ship moves. Sooo, Bernice wears what she does due to actual weather and temperature reasons. Thatch is obviously on the opposite end of the scale. He wears his outfit due to his work on Whitebeard's crew, doesn't have a devil fruit (Thank you, Blackbeard, for that -_- ), keeps his clothes fairly clean despite his work in the kitchen, and tends to make his hair nice. His outfit is usually themed around mostly white, but he does have some yellow in it. I'm sure you can already see where this is going, but let me geek out for a moment here. Obviously black and white are opposites on a grey scale. So you could see that much with their outfits, yeah? Now here's one better for you: yellow and purple are complementary colors on the color wheel. For those of you that aren't really art savvy, basically complementary colors are colors that sit opposite of one another on the color wheel. (Red and green are one, orange and blue are another.) Now knowing that, and knowing just how their outfits are described, do you see where I'm going with this? In short, Bernice and Thatch are an opposites attract pairing, but on a deeper level. And don't worry, for those of you that think I only themed it around the uniform Thatch wears, I did not. I'm actually going to be working on a few pieces in the near future where a lot of their outfits are themed around this idea :3

A few random whitebeard’s headcanons:

- In hot weather Atoms can be seen laying flat on his back sunbathing no matter how busy it gets on the main deck

- Whitebeard actually likes to banter with his kids about his health, it’s a guilty pleasure seeing his kids worry about him (smh someone get this old man)

- Rakuyo frequently overhears crew members secrets purely by accident. Rakuyo had trouble keeping it to himself so he avoided long conversations, worried it’ll slip out, cause when he starts talking he can’t stop, having no control of what comes out, but he found comfort in telling it all to Curiel, Curiel doesn’t care for rumors or secrets so he doesn’t mind having Rokuyo act as personal podcast while he works

- Haruta enjoys mysteries from mystery books, mysterious rumors, to Mysterious islands. He’s all up for it until it gets too paranormal, he’ll try to disprove it but once he can’t, it scares the crap out of him. (He’ll be thinking about it for weeks)

- Thatch loves telling spooky stories, he’s so good at telling them that he scares himself sometimes (Marco is tired of him having “surprise sleepovers” in his room (with the addition of Haruta and Jozu sometimes) these nights he actually go to sleep on time instead of pulling another all nighter to finish paperwork)

- Jozu is naturally superstitious and Thatch’s stories doesn’t help one bit, he gets struck with insomnia some nights (you can catch him asking Thatch was the stories true the next day or asking his other brothers if they believe it’s true, he just needs a bit of reassurance)

- Whitey bay bought all of Haruta clothes when he joined, she daunted on him a lot when he was younger, he ended up with her taste in clothes and some of her personality

- Izo has to make his kimonos himself, it’s one of the many forms of art he enjoys but like any artist, he’s got bad spending habits, spending chunks of his funds on different textured n patterned fabrics, different threads, and whatever else the shop owners swore he needed, he started giving half his money to Marco to hold for some type of control.

- Izo wrote many letters to Kiku, so many it could’ve became a travel log, it was later burned up with the moby during the paramount war.

- Rakuyo loves cats but has cat allergies, he sneezes like crazy with his eyes watering with no control as he nuzzles a kitten.

- Kingdew has pollen allergies, also of sneezing variety.

- Vista has an affinity for cats, he doesn’t take any in because of how of Rakuyo gets.

- Thatch has an affinity for all animals especially the large vicious ones, “Why bad if friend shaped” mentality. (He’d fold immediately if he seen a lion taking a nap with its paws covering it’s face)

- Marco has an affinity for birds (ofc) but gets irritated with them if they come bothering him too much, he still ends up feeding them. When he’s grumbling about the birds Thatch calls it “family drama”.

- Blamenco’s whole division holds pride in their craft, him included, they got a friendly rivalry with galley la workers (even though some of them are from galley la, it’s fun to to talk shit even if it’s your old friends) Galley la is always loud with banter and laughter when they come by to pick up materials.

I have two moods

You can take this as a vent? As much as I wanna say that it isn't, it kind of is...if that makes sense- Basically, to sum up a lot of my absence from social media, apparently I have depression :D I didn't think that I did, buuuuttt I've gone to the doctor's over it, and a lot of the health problems are have basically tie into depression...so here we are now! Yes, I'm working on it. Yes, it's a lot. Unfortunately, I don't really feel comfortable talking about it/what's led me to this point (which is saying something since I have a therapist and feel uncomfortable opening up to even them about it-) Bottom line: I should, SHOULD, be back to my regular schedule soon...I hope- (and if I disappear again, then you guys know why XD)

Calling all One Piece Fans!

So, I actually have two separate projects that I'd like to do collabs for. Firstly, I'd like to make a crew with all ocs! I have the details posted on Instagram (or at least did) so if you're interested in this, don't be afraid to comment! As of currently, no one has actually joined the collab, so there is definitely room left to join. The only rules I can remember off the top of my head is 1. You unfortunately cannot use a current/ existing oc. Since this is an all oc crew, everyone that joins the collab will be working on their ocs and their lore/ how they mingle and come to know one another. (In other words, it wouldn't be fair to your current existing ocs to actually have to change their lore to fit the crew's, if that makes sense-) and 2. There can only be on oc per person. Going further into depth on this, a lot of the oc lore that'll be exchanged will actually be done via discord. I'll actually create a server for everyone that joins to go discuss details and such, and then the info can be shared publicly from there. I still don't know if this collab would remain restricted to just art, or if it could also swing in the direction of writing as well. Either way, this is one of the two projects! __________ The second project that I'd like to do an open collab for is a Zine. And currently, I am on the fence about who I'd like to make the Zine over. I'm Stuck between Thatch, Rosinante, Heat, or Fukaboshi. Why these four specifically? I personally like these characters, and the amount of content there is on them is absolutely DISGUSTING. There definitely should be more!! I am going to for sure do a Zine, but I want to know who would like to have a hand in it, and for which character (Because if I can actually find enough fans for each character, then I can actually make a zine for all of them, lol.)

Part three of the concept designs :3 Up next on the roster is the crew's favorite giant man, Woton. (Though, on days he can quickly be considered a gentle giant...even if he won't admit it, lol.) Woton is actually an ex-marine, but is the crew's shipwright. At the time that he was originally taken into consideration but the crew to join them, he was actually trying to hunt them down. When Lee originally parted from her brother's crew, he tried to hunt them down in order to kill them. However, the reason he couldn't pull himself to was due to the fact that they decided to help him, nor did they ever try to fight his own men while trying to get away. The second time that they had an encounter was at the next island that they had docked at. Somehow, Woton's crew got mutilated by another pirate fleet, and most of the surviving men had sustained severe injuries. Lee's crew tried helping the best they could- and had even gone as far as to convincing the island's doctors to teach them what to do to help. During that time, Woton decided to interrogate Lee about any potential knowledge she had of the One Piece or affiliations with Gol Roger himself, yet after coming up short handed from what the World Government told him, he quickly came to the conclusion that she was innocent of their claims. In return for helping him and his men, he offered to repair the damage that they had done to her ship, resigned his position in the Marines, and ended up joining Lee's crew. Now, while this man does have a short temper on days, he can be just as patient. his favorite pass times include looking after Kimchi (and willow while she was a part of the crew)- though, it seems more like he was involuntarily assigned that job- managing the crew's finances, and collecting rare coins and gems...what, a man can have his hobbies, can't he? At the time of joining, Woton was 28. He is also the only member of the crew to have devil fruit powers.

A Pawsible Problem- A Whitebeard Pirates Fan Story (A small excerpt from a Patreon Exclusive story)

Is this probably evil to post only a tidbit of this story here? Yes, yes it is. Do I have good reason for this?...Yes, actually. Long story short, I'm currently looking to find a way to leave my job and have a full time sustainable gig from home. My main goal/ my dream goal is to finish the children/tween chapter book I am working on so I can make the art for it. But, as to be expected, that's easier said than done when you're trying to balance a job still, as well as art and animation. Sooo, I'll be doing this to gain people's attention in order to get more people to support my Patreon. Don't worry, my art isn't stopping, but until I can find a way to leave my job and make more time to actually be able to pump out both my art and writing 24/7, this is the only way I know I can get peeps to head over and support it. Ah, but don't worry! if you aren't able to support my Patreon, then please do wait. It may take some time, but with the progression of this story, I will be uploading a full version of it to Itch.io as a downloadable version, it'll probably be something you have to pay for, but maybe like a dollar or so at most. (Yes, I want to be able to write and draw for a living, but I don't want to bankrupt people doing such, lol.) Anyways, the full version of this is going upon my Patreon, for now, here's just a small excerpt from Chapter 0: Please note: this is a randomly selected paragraph of the two that are a part of the chapter. While the chapter itself is not very long, it's only the precursor to the main book. ___________________ In a clearing where the trees parted had been a winding road that stretched on forever. The dim lights of the vehicle stood as a small flicker of a flame on the night drive in comparison to the light show that was taking place in the sky above. Between the low hum of the engine and the distant sound of the thunder, it became vacantly clear that the chirp of crickets had been snuffed out before their symphony could begin. Within the small cramped confines of the car that continued its trek down the road were two passengers. A man’s hunched form was over the wheel of the vehicle while his eyes squinted on the paved road ahead. The other passenger in the crosswise seat had been curled up. Their rhythmic breathing gave away the peaceful state of slumber that had befallen them. They couldn’t be blamed for it, the need for wanting sleep. Not many could find the beauty in nature. Well, I guess that wasn’t the case for them. The road ahead might’ve stretched on forever, but at the end of the journey would be their new home. Change was always a big deal. The thousands of ways people handled it came in all various sizes.

Keeping true to what I do best with my art, the first thing I've decided to draw after getting out of a rut I've been in was this beauty

It's a late art trend, I know. I originally saved this as something to draw with Bernice and Thatch (hence the lighter female outline where Marco is, I started it but never got back around and decided to restart with a different character, lol), buuuuttttt...I figured these two were far more fitting for it XD

Ok, soooo, I'm gonna have to break this down into a multitude of parts, lol, so please bear with me here. Basically, the next few parts that I am going to slightly be spam posting out are all concept designs of members of Lee's old crew, the Meadow pirates. However, because the descriptions of each member is too long, I have to break their info up into individual posts. (I tried making a master post on them, I'm sorry in advanced ;-;) Sooo, getting right into things, we'll start with Willow (or Kadie as her concept image lists). So, Willow was never really an official member of the Meadow Pirates (the name of Lee's original crew). A lot of the reason for this was because Lee would not accept her as a member of the crew. (Aka, she really wanted to, but Noko had told her it was for the best to find someone on another island to take care of Willow instead in order to assure her safety.) While she did sail with them for a few months prior to what happened to them, she eventually was left with an elderly woman who was glad to have a kid to treat as her own grandchild. A lot of the reason Willow was on her own was due to relations her home island people had with Marines. For some reason, the Marines were very crooked and usually taxed the residents of the island amounts of money. And if they couldn't pay, they were usually the first to be pushed out to protect the marines from pirates instead of the other way around. Willows parents actually tried to start a rebellion to try and run the Marines off, but unfortunately both were killed in the process. And due to Willow being their daughter, most of the island people were afraid to take her in/ couldn't afford it, leaving her neglected by both the Marines and civilians. Lee's crew decided that they would take her to at least give her a temporary home until they could find her a proper place to live. At the time of being apart of Lee's crew, Willow was eight.
