this part makes me so sad so so so sad
he's a leo.
he's incredibly tidy. if his parents leave the house in a mess, he'll complain but proceed to deep-clean it anyways.
he's a stickler for other people's safety. if he notices someone's shoelace is untied, he'll tie it for them, regardless of the circumstances (ie. smack-dab in the middle of a sports game)
on another note, he seems to have a fixation with tying people's shoelaces for them.
he's weak for sweets in general, not just coffee jelly. sweet tooth saiki!
he has a huge soft spot for kids. this probably stems from his failed childhood friendship with akechi.
he's scared of bugs because he can't read their minds. this implies that powerless!saiki might be a lot shyer, more anxious, and even pricklier, since he doesn't know what anybody's thinking.
he's totally a mama's boy. he learned his moral compass from her, does whatever she wants, believes he was born an esper to protect her, etc.
also, the notorious zebra print blazer was because of his mom.
he's so much of a people-pleaser that he'll sacrifice his desire for anonymity and normalcy; he'll insert himself into situations, stalk people, and use his powers even if it means the spotlight will fall on him.
not only is he a people-pleaser, he's a drama queen. he'd rather concoct elaborate plans to avoid somebody instead of simply rejecting them.
he's a one piece fan.
his favorite arcade game used to be whack-a-mole, and he thought destroying all the moles meant he'd won. he was banned because of this.
his glasses are colored glasses from his childhood toy box. wording implies that he's been wearing this same pair his whole life.
he likes baking/cooking, mostly because he gets to eat the sweets that he made. (househusband saiki... heh.)
he smiled a lot more freely as a kid. when he wasn't wearing a dazed expression, he looked like quite the cheerful child.
he helps kaido out with classwork by simply handing him his own work.
he rarely gets sick, and when he does he can cure himself by turning his body into an inferno through pyrokinesis. however, this means he knows next to nothing about medicine.
similarly, he's tragically naïve about the internet.
he's good at singing and likes karaoke (preferably singing by himself).
like kaido, he gets seasick. however, he fervently denies this. he seems to think himself impervious of the maladies regular people suffer from.
he has a bit of a girly run.
he likes using takahashi as a joke. "it's everyone's favorite, takahashi." he also hates takahashi because of his strong resemblance to akechi's childhood bully, takashi.
he likes hot baths.
when he walks home from school, he follows this routine: he stops at the convenience store, picks up coffee jelly, puts it back on the shelf, then continues home. ...incredible. he seems incapable of not staring at any nearby coffee jelly.
he may be willing to downplay his smarts/talents to avoid trouble, but he'll get competitive when he's with akechi or kusuke.
he's hesitant to cause his friends any harm, but will freely maim toritsuka, so long as the damage is immediately reversed.
he won't hesitate with kusuke, though.
I try new styles
honestly one of my fav things that isn’t ever talked about with Kusuo is that he is honestly when you actually examine him, a pretty normal teenager. He’s insecure, he cares a lot about his mom and is scared of making her mad, he gets invested in other peoples drama, he dislikes PE, he hates being spoiled for things, he has an embarrassing crush that his friends judge him for, he has an awkward relationship with his dad and fights with his brother, he wants to be protected.
Like underneath all the unfamiliar stuff, he is honestly Just Some Guy.
Poor quality doodles because art block is strong but SNUFKIN GAME
Me waiting for fanfic updates like a 1920s woman waiting for her husband to come back from the war.
You have a lot of thoughts about Sanji and how the Germa modification may come back to bite him later in terms of his own free will (& I agree that it will eventually come up)—but do you have any thoughts about Luffy having a mythical Zoan and whether Nika might be bleeding over into him? Zoan fruits supposedly have a will of their own especially after awakening, and I’m guessing mythical humanoid ones might take that a step further.
I remember being super unsettled by Gear 5 up until Luffy officially reiterated that he’s Luffy, going to be the pirate king, etc. There was something really eerie about it to me, like I was legit concerned that we were looking at something that wasn’t Luffy anymore.
What does it mean for Luffy, who ultimately is a personification of freedom and free will to be potentially a reincarnation of Joyboy/some sort of prophesied person with a destiny? Does it run kind of counter to his whole character? Is it fine so far because Luffy and Nika/Joyboy are so similar, and could that change?
Interested if you have any thoughts about it! Love your character analysis videos.
I've said this on twitter ages ago BUT somehow I don't think joyboy is gonna be a reincarnation or anything. I feel it's just the gum gum fruit itself has a will that it couldn't carry out 800 years ago with its previous user, and it's now found Luffy who can help carry out its will with Luffy's own. Ie, Luffy has not been forced on a path as the chosen one, he's simply so strong of mind and soul that the fruit has found someone to help it reach its peak form and power.
People like Luffy are a rarity, in terms of their pure determination and guts. Luffy makes his own path, and now he's yanked into the soul of his devil fruit, and has forced it to awaken for his own gain. But, since one piece is about continuing wills, it also makes perfect sense that either joyboy or the fruit itself has a will that Luffy is picking up. This is by no means fate, and is instead Luffy tearing the world apart due to who he is.
I also do think there's a possibility of devil fruits overtaking someone's mind and soul, but I don't know! Haven't seen that happen yet I think, so I'm keen to find out!
Also thank youuuu! 🫶
it's them 😭

Can't understand? let me help you
"Hey do you know if hanako kun seal come off, the entire world will fall in disrray..... * that was close-!!* *heart thumping*
This reminds me of this
and this
Hanako's seal + threat of Hanako being very dangerous and difficult to control + future of the school is being destroyed + Sakura wants everything to be destroyed and uses Hanako and Yashiro to do so + Hanako is sometimes represented as a "dinosaur" or a giant monster + Hanako's own repulsion towards himself + Hanako is seen with this dark shadow on his chest that sometimes spreads across his body = Will everything be destroyed by Hanako?
I add even more The fear that Hanako seems to feel for himself if he loses the seal. He's the first one I've seen that likes being sealed, for some reason.
The ghost boy can transform into a highly destructive and out of control monster that can destroy everything in sight unless someone restrains him.
So let's think a little, what if Tsukasa is removing all the Yorishiros so that the passages between the supernatural and the world of the living are freer, and this gives strength to this "God", the more seals removed, the stronger he becomes.
What if he is doing this to release the creature living in Hanako, so that he becomes stronger and can fulfill his wish, but this could lead to a problematic future.
Yashiro has a kind of purifying power, but we saw what happened when she did that to Tsukasa.
What if Yashiro is the one who has to stop Hanako? Considering that she will only die if she takes out all the yorishiros then…
If that God grants a wish to whoever takes out all the yorishiros, which are seals, it means that this is very related to him and his power, the seals can keep that "God" contained. Knowing that the creature lives inside Tsukasa, and that it probably also lives inside Hanako, would make him stronger and he would take control again.
If all the seals are removed, including Hanako's, does the creature take control and Yashiro dies from trying to contain and save Hanako in the process?
So he would kill the girl he loves, the same way he killed his beloved brother?
It's a little crazy, but it's still a possibility.
He tries to save the girl he loves but in the end it's his fault for her death? (my heart hurts just thinking about it ;~;)
But what does Sakura have to do with it? Could she be a Kannagi who wants revenge? Why does she want both supernaturals and humans to disappear from existence? And why would Tsukasa agree to this? Many questions…
It was a random thought I had when I saw the image of Hanako worrying about his seal. It could all be nonsense in my head. Maybe someday I'll organize these theories better
I got the most wonderful package delivered today. The first of many BSD orders I have pending.
I'm eagerly awaiting my copy of volume 25. It's on the way~!
