in the "don't go" fanfic
and honestly -
very symbolic to me as a lesbian raised in a mormon household.
i wonder sometimes if it's intentional; but either way, the metaphor for me is prime as some sorta deity -
and the unyielding grip? just feeling like that.
exactly like that.
and omg this - defiance of the kinda religious rhetoric meant to put a pin in people and be who they are only within the parameters of who they are allowed to be -
"you made me in your image, but i am more than that"
quite possibly the most intensive rejection of that rhetoric in the entire show and it's delivered by hordak! wth! like that's why i made that post about catra calling hordak by his name when she's tryna rescue glimmer - it got a bit slammed but dude c'mon - tell me that doesn't make sense
loss of identity, loss of self and even just being able to sense your own feelings -
that's clones. that's chipped. that's strict & abrasive censorship. & i'm genuinely sorry if i offend anyone - but that's bull shit.
the rainbows. the love. the glittery bits in the air just cause magic.
that's - well, that's magic.
cause that's what love is. and to me sometimes i think that's all the show's main msg really is.
and it's being screamed from the rooftops.
love is magic dude. powerful magic. y'all know that tho, i'm preaching to the choir here haha.
but even hordak and entrapta deserve it, honestly. dude is so moved by how much he cares for her he'd rather try and toss horde prime off the same platform hp made catra fall off of.
hell. yeah.
& entrapta spent almost a full season on beast island dude like - adora doesn't push him away after she legit murks hp's weird unsettling singularity-type consciousness out of existence - she doesn't try and reprimand him or get angry. she smiles at him and lifts him up. that's it.
cause just like everyone else in the damn galaxy, he's finally free. and that's all she ever wanted for anyone, on etheria or otherwise.

Realized that the top of Madoka's skirt is star-shaped and now I can't stop thinking about this
ID: Digital comic of Homura and Madoka from Madoka Magica. The comic has some panels and some free drawings. The page is tinted pink and purple, growing darker as the comic goes on. There are doodles of hearts, stars, and moons across the pages. Madoka tapping Homura's shoulder from behind. Homura's eye widens, filled with wonder as she turns to see Madoka seemingly glowing in her magical girl outfit. Text: "And to me, you were always a STAR" A panel of Homura and Madoka holding hands with just their hands visible. Text: " Guiding me forward with each wayward night" Madoka facing the right, bounding forward, intended to resemble the hallucination Mima has of herself, bouncing away from her through the town in Satoshi Kon's "Perfect Blue. Text: "Just out of reach" One of Madoka's red ribbon's flies in the air behind her. Homura reaches out for the ribbon, already holding onto the other ribbon. She seems to be shouting out. Text: "Just a little too far" The lines from Madoka's bouning swirl into chaos framing her lying down in water, crying yet trying her best to smile as her grief seed forms. Text: "The memory of something" A panel of Homura's hand holding a gun, her hand shaking. Text: "that died long ago." The scene fades into Homura on a rooftop, wearing Madoka's ribbon, looking down. Text: "Because how could you have died lightyears ago" Madoka walks, with yellow ribbons in her hair, talking to someone not seen on the page. Text: "When I see you here right in front of me."
Buff Charlie bout to have me actin up đł
Hear me out broâŚ
But didn't Anne win your "worst taste in women" pull. I guess that one's obvious though. She's the only one that got dramatically betrayed by both of her girlfriends.
Propaganda:
Vampire!Anne breaking the brooding angsty vampire trope by being her ray of sunshine self. Won't drink human blood no matter how hot Marcy claims it will be and no matter how much Sasha insists she needs it. Pretends like nothing happened. Gets irritable and annoying when hungry and her mom refuses to let her go out with her friends until she eats like, a piece of raw beef to get her shit together. Secretly wants to drink her friends' blood but she's so deep in denial she won't even admit it to herself.
Vampire!Sasha is THE brooding vampire stereotype, she's so edward cullen coded it's actually embarrassing. You have it all: the supernatural piggyback rides, the angsty distance, turning her face away because she can barely resist the temptation... Marcy thinks it's genuinely cool when she finds out and offers her blood a little bit too eagerly, while Anne just blinks and goes "sure. she's a vampire now. okay. this definitely won't awaken anything in me" while Sasha is throwing the typical tantrum like noooo im a monsterrrr stay away from meeee and it's all shits and giggles until she actually caves one day and bites Anne all of a sudden.
Vampire!Marcy is still her adorable but traumatized self who Anne and Sasha are very determined to protect and that includes feeding her, something that Marcy refuses to do for so long, still haunted by guilt. But then Anne craddles her in her arms and offers her neck to her and she just can't hold back - you wouldn't expect a vampire to be so docile, so small, and fragile, but that's precisely how Marcy looks when she feeds, her loves always making sure she's healthy and safe.
Happy Anniversary to Catra and Adora! I don't have any art or fanfic or interesting thoughts to share, but I just feel like I need to post something for such a momentous occasion as the Catradora Kiss-versary before the day is out! Crazy that was four years ago. Here's to the kiss that saved the universe!
(i literally fucking think about this all the time so this just gonna be a rant lol)
i really, truly think that people in general donât put the effort into understanding characters who are imperfect victims. for them, it destroys the appeal of victimhood. victimhood (especially when the victims in question are girls, women, femme presenting people, etc.) needs to be beautiful and tragic. think characters like ophelia, snow white, odette, juliet, the lisbon sisters. otherwise, their victimhood is no longer attractive.
catra is an imperfect victim. shadow weaverâs abuse did not make her soft, weak, timid, or fragile. it made her bitter, angry, and resentful.
i once saw a catra anti saying some bullshit about how they mightâve liked catra more if the writers had spent more screen time showing shadow weaver abusing her, specifically her when she was a kid.
this person wanted to see catraâs pain as beautiful. they wanted to see her ONLY as a child to be pitied, the little kid who cowered in fear instead of fighting back, and not have to acknowledge catraâs more complicated character traits.
i also think this is why these same people often talk like they love adora, like âadora deserves better than catraâ and all that shit. adora (to them) is easier to see as a perfect victim. shadow weaverâs abuse made her obedient and self-sacrificing. it made her put others before herself, even to the point of fucking death. adora is selfless and brave. sheâs so determined to be a perfect hero, to protect people, to care for people, to love people. these traits are easier to romanticize. it makes her seem beautiful.
if you ask me, this is a really fucked up way of viewing adora. i donât love adora bc sheâs a âperfect victimâ, i love adora bc she, like catra, is also flawed. adoraâs determination to be perfect leads her to abandoning catra. her inability to empathize with catra leads her to behaving the way she did in taking control. adora isnât fucking perfect.
(for context i do also think that catra was in the wrong in that episode too, but i feel like we donât talk enough about how badly adora was handling the situation. like seriously girl catra is here basically telling her âi donât trust you bc i donât believe that you could ever love me bc iâm inherently fucked up and unlovableâ and adoraâs immediate reaction is to blow up at her. it makes sense given what adora has just done for her, but itâs another example of adora being incapable of empathizing with catra. also calling her a stubborn brat? yeah uh that wasnât funny adora, especially not with the ways that shadow weaver talked about catra.)
but i love that adora is flawed, and i love that catra is flawed. theyâre not archetypes. no real person experiences abuse like they did and comes out perfect. catraâs intense fear of abandonment and resentment issues are a very fucking real response to the way she was traumatized. regardless of how ugly it is.
at the end of the day, i think that people canât wrap their brains around this concept and refuse to empathize with imperfect victims bc they donât want to admit that they, too, are imperfect victims. the perfect victim isnât real. itâs a fucking myth.
in real life, people are messy and complicated, like catra and adora. itâs why i love them :)
ugh i could literally go on about this FOREVER i swear.
Well, the very first paragraph of There and Back Again does establish "It was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort."
listen hobbit pussy could be mediocre (doubtful) but even if it was it's still followed by a 17 course homecooked meal and the kind of weed that would make sauron scared. lithe beautiful immortal elven pussy has no power compared to the simple, hardworking hobbit. and it goes without saying that you cannot handle dwarven pussy.

not the smoothest, but already a very favorite animationđ
(no shadows yet, it's too difficult for me)
I also made this d&d animation along time ago about how to have low-level players take on a mindflayer hive. Not sure if I'll make more like this, but if I do the audio quality will be better because I have a half-decent mic now!
26 year old obsessed with children's cartoons. Maybe some day I'll make comics and/or animations consistently
