Theyyam Dance Of Kerala, India
This is a popular ritual form of dance worship in the Southern states of Kerala & Karnataka which consists of age old customs, rituals & traditions; performed to glorify goddess Kaali.
This form of dance is always perfomed by men. This takes place in front of village temples.
Face paints are used and also decorative costumes are worn by the dancers.
Theyyam, all about being Gods and much more.

The Land Of Many Colours
India, the land of many colours - diverse landscape, culture, cuisine, festivals & attire contribute to this.
As we approach the festival of colours/Holi, I would like to present my beautiful, colourful country each day through my vibrant pics.
Today I present to you the multi coloured turbans of Rajasthan (a state in North West India) - a symbol of prestige, pride & status for the lovely people of Rajasthan.

Life Is A Journey
There are muddy roads; concrete roads; no road; stairs to climb; rivers & bridges to cross; hills to trek; interesting souls on the way; at times nobody; sunny days; cloudy sky; dark nights & cheerful mornings.
But the journey must continue as always. Agree?

The Smell Of The Village Soil
Ever ventured into the countryside away from the concrete jungle of the city & town, away from dust & pollution, away from competition & rat race?
If not, then you must visit the villages of India. India is a land with varied landscapes dotted with hills, rivers, seas & oceans, backwaters, sandy & salty deserts, fields & farmland and forests too. In fact there's so much to explore!!

This is a village up in the hills & mountains of India.

This village is in the heart of Thar desert/Great Indian Desert surrounded by sand where the only mode of transport is camel.

This village is down south in the state of Kerala where such backwaters & houseboats are a common sight and coconut trees on either sides.

This is a village in western India in the state of Goa where there is sea, farmland and some beautiful chapels & churches all over the place.

Another gorgeous village of India. This one is located in the eastern part of the country where the staple diet of the locals is rice & fish, hence glimpses of paddy fields & fisherman.

This is how an Indian village looks like - grandma sitting in the courtyard; smiling faces of children coz they are genuinely happy & not just posing for the camera; huts with pet animals roaming freely; muddy tracks with greenery all around.
πΈπΈπΈπΈπΈπΈπΈπΈπΈπΈπΈπΈπΈπΈπΈπΈ
Also, you would be able to spot some very hardworking women; children & cattle venturing into the nearby forest and of course simple & meaningful activities like watching the sunrise, sunset or perhaps counting the birds flying by. Way better than those unstoppable video games played by our children most of the time.

Welcome to a typical Indian village π€

Hampi: The Saga Of A Lost City
From the land of living rocks; a saga in stone; Hampi (a town in the South Indian state of Karnataka, India) is home to an ancient Indian dynasty called the Vijayanagara empire established in the mid 14th century where both art & architecture flourished.
Amongst the marvel of the ruins & the splendours of a bygone era, I am that soul who is busy chasing the sunrise & sunset- beautiful examples that both beginning & ending can be gorgeous.
