Dark Skies...

Reflections... The events I remember are the messages of my life.

The passage of time is calculated in short mental notes.

The soft voices in my mind are whispering the cadence of music.

Musical voices of children... it is those children that make me a father.

Sunset is the end of the day. It brings a sense of completion to the wanderers in attendance. And yet sunset is not the end, but the beginning. The start of the next phase. It is a birth as much as a death. ….dennis

 A child of the ages created from the sands of time. Not blue or azure, but red. Desert red, as is expected from a creation of and for the desert southwest. While it is normally a placid and regressive puddle, there are the times the red beast roars to life.  Again, screaming at the stars that it is indeed alive and well!! "Thunder crashing, Lightning flashing right through the middle of it I go dashing..." Moments in time are how I see light. It happens every day in one way or another. Seconds? Minutes? Perhaps a bit longer. I search for those "Moments in Light"...d Captured in Canyonlands National Park,Utah.

        Dragons The night can hold many dragons.  As a child, they live under the bed.  As a teen, they hide in school tests.  As a adult, they can hide in the sky. The building clouds on a spring evening very quickly turn into giant behemoths that spew fire and scream at the earth with voices that thunder across the plains and into the ears of the adults huddled safely fearing dragons.  Well perhaps not fearing, but certainly aware that dragons are out there,  lurking in the soft fluffy clouds of spring. The weather is a part of nature we all need to be aware of and respect...dennis

Empty your troubled mind into the vast Nevada skies. Let your heart see the the options that life offers in the arms of nature. Fill your soul with the incredible possibilities that lie around the corner... dennis

The space between this and that, Between here and there. Spaces not left or right. The space where imagination weaves wonders...dennis

We all walk through life not really observing the view. We put one foot in front of another as fast as we can. The destination is our goal. I suggest, that is not always the best path. I submit that the journey is the goal. The destination is the result of the journey. I seem to be traveling a bit slower on my journeys recently. Taking time to observe the steps in front of my feet, but not forgetting to peek back at the steps I have just past. This journey of life is not designed to be all about the result or the destination. You see, the destination is death and the result is similar. Life is, in its nature, a journey as opposed to a destination. Live your life a bit slower and look for the forest bridges to cross. When you reach the bridge in the forest, stop and look back. Stop and look forward and thank God for the beauty of life and the wonderful experiences we encounter on the journey. May your destination exist beyond your horizons.....dennis
