I’ve been working on my current rebranding from weliad to Dandy Rebel, and other than the first letter, I think I have the general draft of how I want the first part of the logo ready to go.
Also, I swear that these aren’t the final colors. I just wanted to fiddle with them because I usually use turquoise as the color I draft things in, so I figured that it’d be fun to make an orange and turquoise halftone during the process, before I do proper inking, make a vector version of the file, etc.
Ok, so I was 7000 shy of winning NaNoWriMo until my left hand decided to cramp up and hate me. It really hurts. My knees are also aching.
I'm letting a few friends read the alpha draft of a story I have wanted to write for a long time. (Because hooray, Google Docs!). I also think I want to slam out the whole book's rough draft before 2018, and then edit next year.
And I have a job interview for a design production job tomorrow, and that's super cool.
I'm also gonna go back to doing comic live streams on Saturdays. I miss doing comic stuff.
I’ve been to a lot of places. :’D
…I just got a glitchy version of the taxes design a few minutes after I posted it.
I have no idea how that happened, but here.
I finally made a motion graphics version of my thing. It’s alive! It’s also terribly compressed, but eh. I can still say I did a thing in After Effects!
This was a pain to make, though. Predominantly because of file sizes. However, feel free to use it for whenever you’re in an internet argument (although you are automatically losing by virtue of the fact that you are in an internet argument. Never forget that.)
I’m almost done with the coloring for the main character of the webcomic I wanna work on (specifically, how he appears on the intro “cover” page)—but then I realized that I was using the exact same colors as the Jazz Dixie Cup for some components of rendering, and then I kinda devolved this into something that would fit in a bad vaporwave YouTube video.

For real though, this made me happy. I enjoy making jokey stuff with my own work sometimes. It relieves stress.
I found myself revisiting an old drawing that touches upon a lot of the same fears and feelings I have right now—and I have to say that I’m pretty happy with what I can do these days with my speedpainting skills... even if I don’t have a lot of time and I’m kinda weirded out by the sense of deja vu.
>tfw you’re writing a rough draft for something and it actually alludes to the fact that coffee beans might be extinct or absurdly rare by 2080—ergo, coffee would be an extremely expensive black market luxury at the rate we’re going at.
I decided to combine Inktober’s Day 3 theme of “Roasted” and Inktober’s Day 5 theme of “Chicken” in order to make one weird comic idea that’s been on my mind for the past couple of days.
It’s definitely some dark humor. However, it’s something that came to mind because I was thinking about how one of my great-great grandmothers knew how to snap chicken necks with her bare hands, and how distanced I am from that as a modern human who hasn’t really seen a chicken get killed at all. It’s kind of a bizarre thing to think about, really.
I’ve officially completed my own logo. Again. For the umpteenth time now. It’s going to have other applications other than this, but I figured that showcasing it on black lace would be nice.
In Love with Love, 2018
I’ve finally decided to finish this stupid thing after keeping it on hold for about five years—and loving someone not for the person, but because you desperately want to be loved seems like such a terrible thing to make an illustration about, but I finally finished it.
I’ve been on a roll for the past day or so.
Anyway, have some gothic angel amputation as done by a demon.
Greetings and salutations! I'm a graphic designer/illustrator, and this is my Tumblr. Feel free to check my about page for more info about me. Also, I only post my own things here—almost all reblogs will go to @dandyreblogs. Check that out if you're into aesthetics and other curious things.
