I’ve decided to upload my digital paintings from the advanced illustration class I took over the Spring.
I’ve decided to upload my King Lear illustration for now, because I’m pretty pleased with the fact that I know of a slightly different coloring method in Photoshop that...admittedly, is much quicker than what I was doing before.
I didn’t upload this from the class I took, but here—have an irritated chemist dude.
So, this is the result of my Twitch Stream! I’m pretty stoked that I’m back in the swing of things after Hurricane Irma, and I’m pretty happy that I made A LOT of progress on the page in the past 4.5 hours (although I felt like I wasted a bit of my time with Lazy Nezumi. I want to see if I was doing something wrong, because I only found it useful for two things.)
I also appreciate that the quote “Vaporwave Trash Child’s Baby” is now immortalized in a Facebook status of @arzeron‘s, and I got some good pointers for drawing babus from @galacticglaciers.
I’ve been on a roll for the past day or so.
Anyway, have some gothic angel amputation as done by a demon.
>tfw you’re writing a rough draft for something and it actually alludes to the fact that coffee beans might be extinct or absurdly rare by 2080—ergo, coffee would be an extremely expensive black market luxury at the rate we’re going at.
@freackthejester I’m sure he’d appreciate it, although I might want to do that sparingly.
...I just got a glitchy version of the taxes design a few minutes after I posted it. I have no idea how that happened, but here.
Here, have an animation for Star Trek’s 50th anniversary!
Even if it was technically an assignment for my advanced illustration course, I had fun with my sorry excuse for fan art (Yes, I grew up with Star Trek in the 90s. My parents and I would watch both TNG and Voyager together, and TOS on occasion.)
I also had fun revisiting nebulas and space as subject matter for digital painting, and this was a lovely excuse to do that, too. Also, this was actually the first time I’ve ever used overlays in something, to be brutally honest. You’d think I would have touched them at some point if I’ve known Photoshop for years...but nope. Not once.
I may have to make a Zelda 30th anniversary illustration and a Pokemon 20th anniversary illustration to accompany this as well, as I grew up with those, too...(and without parental influence.)
This was a quick and dirty typographic design I had in mind years ago, except that it was one of those ideas that I couldn’t execute to my liking at the time.
After a few years and a bit of spare time, and I’m more or less OK with what I can do for the sake of this particular design.
As a piece of advice to anyone who ever gets involved with clients from hell that attempt to stiff you on art work, design work, etc that I wish I had learned sooner instead of assuming that being too poor to afford copyright attorneys I know meant that I had to sit here and accept design theft...
...in the United States, you can take the aforementioned non-compliant client to small claims court, assuming it falls under that threshold. Different states have different thresholds for what constitutes a small claim, but overall, it should cover most artists on Tumblr. (I say this because even at my historic design rates and the extent of work I did, I manage to fall under Florida's $5000 threshold.)
Of course, I'm in this situation currently, so that's why I bring this up. Essentially, I wish someone told me that I didn't need an attorney while working as a lower-tier designer sooner.
I decided to go back to Pulse after being a borderline recluse for a year and a half (and forcing myself to go to Savoy two weeks ago after talking through some things.)
I remembered a conversation I had with @plaguenurse after she left a crochet Jotaro Kujo in my car. She left it there in hopes that it would go where it needs to go.
Long story short, there is now a crochet Jotaro Kujo at Pulse that I placed there because I feel like it belongs there. I couldn't articulate to you why I feel the need for it to be there, but I still feel like it belongs there more than it does in my car.
Greetings and salutations! I'm a graphic designer/illustrator, and this is my Tumblr. Feel free to check my about page for more info about me. Also, I only post my own things here—almost all reblogs will go to @dandyreblogs. Check that out if you're into aesthetics and other curious things.
