When one of your girl best friends doesn't like your fictional crushes too
-(Y/n)'s POV-
I stood at the defense table, right beside my boss. Occasionally, I handed him some evidence, watching as his crime solving and observation skills broke down the opposing prosecutor. Phoenix Wright really was one of the best defense attorneys there was.
"As you can see, this picture does indeed show the defendant, Miss Wy Vern going into the shack, however, I'd like to present a new picture to the court. Something that clearly contradicts the witness's testimony."
I handed him the new picture, which he showed to the courtroom. "Oh my! This picture shows the defendant leaving!" exclaimed the judge and that got the jury talking.
"Mr. Kerr, if you really saw Miss Vern never leave the crime scene, then why does this picture show the exact opposite?" The witness, Mr. Joe Kerr, let out a loud cry and slammed his head on the witness stand. I smiled, looking at Phoenix. "Great job! Now to end this!" He smiled back and nodded.
"Wait! Your Honor! T-the defendant probably ran back into the building, knowing that there was a camera there!" said Winston Payne, the prosecutor, from across the courtroom and Phoenix slammed his hand on the table. "OBJECTION!"
'Goodness, his shout sent shivers up my spine..'
"The camera was set to take a picture a second after the door was opened, and as seen in this picture, the defendant is clearly outside the shack and the door is closed.
If the defendant actually stayed in the shack, then there would be another picture of her entering the house. Not only that, but your own brother, Locc Kerr testified that he saw Miss Vern in the gym during the time of the murder, thus giving her even more of an alibi with this proof. If I may, I'd like to present even more evidence to the court."
Another picture was handed in and it caused as much ruckus as the previous one. This time the picture, being half burned but still obvious, showed the witness entering the shack at least 10 minutes after the other picture was taken.
Mr. Payne yelped in shock. "Well. What were you doing entering the shack after the owner left? And why was the evidence you did being burned?" Mr, Kerr promptly began ranting about how the defendant should die, all while foaming at the mouth. I winced at his tantrum and turned to Phoenix. "Well, what now? We've basically proven her innocence, but what about the murderer? Who is it?"
He looked at me and smirked. "It's Joe Kerr. He wanted to get rid of Miss Vern in order to get a chance to steal her fortune. The victim, Miss Vern's friend, entered the shack, and Mr. Kerr, thinking that it was Miss Vern, killed him. When he found out the victim wasn't his target, he decided to grab the evidence and frame Wy Vern."
"Then where is the picture of him leaving the shack?" I asked, confused and shrugged. "Probably completely burned. This picture was in the process of being burned when it was found, so the other one was probably burned before hand, either that or it's being hidden somewhere."
Mr. Kerr, meanwhile, started cussing at the court, ignoring the judge's call for order. Suddenly, he leapt from the witness stand and ran toward the defense table, jumping over the defense table and tackling the two of us as we tried to move away. I let out a yelp as he forced me upward and put a knife to my throat.
"Let me go without consequence or this woman dies." he said and pressed it closer, moving the knife enough to cut my skin just a bit, blood starting to trickle down my neck. I let out an involuntary cry of pain and I saw Phoenix's eyes flash with rage. He took a step forward but then the knife was pointed at him. "Don't come any closer! I'm warning you! She'll pay the price!" He froze, the courtroom silent.
The court guards and policemen were all around the defense table and didn't move as he once again demanded to be let go. When one of the guards moved forward, Joe Kerr turned the two of us toward them and made another cut on my neck.
Just then, Phoenix moved and grabbed the hand holding the knife from behind. He quickly forced it away from my neck, grabbing me out of Mr. Kerr's hold and bringing me against his chest, shielding me with his body as Joe lashed out in anger, slicing Phoenix's jacket and drawing blood.
His rage was his downfall, however, and he was quickly tackled by the guards. Phoenix was trying to look like he wasn't in a lot of pain, but it wasn't working. "Phoenix!" I cried in alarm as his jacket was staining heavily with blood. There was quite the panic in the courtroom and I began crying, trying to figure out what to do. Paramedics quickly arrived and both of us were taken away to the hospital. I was given some stitches for my neck, and let out early, but I couldn't see Phoenix as he was still in surgery and was told to go home and rest.
I felt awful and began to cry on the way back to the Wright & Co. Law Offices. He had saved me, but what if he died from blood loss as a result! I couldn't bear the thought of losing him, I cared way too much about him. If I was going to be honest, I had been crushing on him for quite a while. Eventually I just passed out from exhaustion at his desk.
The next morning I woke up to the sound of the phone ringing. "Hello, Wright and Co. Law Offices, I said, a little groggy. "Hello, this is the Los Angeles hospital. Mr. Wright is ready to picked up and taken home. When can we expect you?" This jolted me awake and I responded quickly. "I'll be there as soon as I can!" Having said that, I quickly grabbed my coat, shoes, and a scarf and left for the hospital.
When I arrived, I made a beeline for his room and there he was, attempting to get a shirt on over his cut. I blushed hard. I had no idea that Phoenix worked out. As soon as he saw me, his eyes sparkled and I shyly approached him. He blushed too, and I offered a helping hand. He nodded and I helped him put the shirt on just as a doctor entered the room.
"(Y/n) (L/n)? Please make Mr. Wright takes it easy. His injuries will require a long time of healing. He'll need help with a lot of tasks and will need to take pain killers at least twice a day if not three." I nodded, gathering Phoenix's belongings. We took a taxi to his house and I helped him get settled in.
He was awfully silent throughout the entire drive and I got worried. "Phoenix? What's wrong? You've been really quiet." He looked down, then got up and waked over to me, reaching a hand out hesitantly. I blushed, looking at his hand. "Y-your neck.." "W-what?" "How is it?" I was shocked. He literally cut down his back with a knife and he was worried about some small cut on the front of my neck. He gently took hold of the scarf and unwrapped it, frowning at the stitches. "It's not that bad, Phoenix." He shook his head and looked at me with tears in his eyes. "But I couldn't protect you, and you got hurt.." I looked at him in shock. "You have it worse than I do! You've got a huge cut all the way down your back!" He grabbed my shoulders, looking at me desperately. "But you got hurt! You got hurt, (Y/n)! I never wanted you to get hurt! I love you and I froze up and you got hurt because of it!"
His arms wrapped around me and my heart raced "I- I.. I can't lose you (Y/n). Not you too... I can't have my heart broken again." I gently hugged him back, careful of his injury. "I love you too Phoenix. That's why I was so upset that you got hurt protecting me."
He pulled away and looked at me in shock, with a large scale blush on his face. "Y-you love me?" I looked at him amused as he asked bewildered, "A-am I dreaming? This isn't real is it?" I smiled and blushed, leaning forward, caressing his face, blushing as he leaned into my touch. "Does this feel like a dream?" With that, I closed the gap between us. His lips were even softer and sweeter than I'd imagined they'd be. When he finally kissed back, it was with a desperation and passion I didn't really expect from him, but it just made it that much more enjoyable.
Finally pulling away for air, he pressed his forehead to mine and sighed happily. "You have no idea how long I've been waiting for this moment to happen." He whispered this so softly, I could barely hear it. I leaned against him happily and just enjoyed his presence.
"I love you so much, Phoenix Wright. You're my hero." "I love you too, (Y/n) (L/n). More than you could ever know.."
Darkiplier x female reader - Dance With Me
----------------
Rainy weather was the perfect time to read. At least, that's what (Y/n) thought. The lights of a lamp and a crackling fire in the fireplace illuminated her figure, lounging comfortably on a couch as she flipped through the pages of a book.
It was her favorite activity especially during lazy weather such as rain. Settling down and getting cozy under a fluffy blanket with a cup of warm chamomile tea and a good book. The house was nearly quiet once again with the gentle sound of rain against the window panes and the comforting sound of the fireplace being the only disturbances.
The warmth of her environment made (Y/n) sleepy. Her eyelids drooped as she fought the inevitable slumber, wanting to continue reading but as the book slowly slipped from her fingertips, falling to the ground with a thud, there was a loud clap of thunder and the light of the lamp shut off. (Y/n)’s eyes shot open, her comfortable atmosphere shattered. The only source of light in the room was the fire which continued to burn.
(Y/n) knew she couldn’t read well in that dim of a light and she would become too warm if she sat directly in front of the fireplace. With a sigh, she curled up in her blanket and tried to adjust her eyes so she could continue reading. The storm would likely stick around for a while and whatever caused the power outage would take time to fix so she might as well get comfy.
Knock knock knock
The sound of three taps echoed through the house and (Y/n) looked around, trying to locate the source of the sound. “Reading in this light is bad for your eyesight, you know.” (Y/n) quickly looked toward the voice and her heart skipped a beat at the sight of the figure standing in the entryway.
Darkiplier, her boyfriend of two years, was dressed in a fitted black suit and a black turtleneck sweater, and leaned comfortably in the doorway, a small smile on his handsome face. It wasn’t his typical style, but it was nice to see him switch up his usual formal attire. However as she continued to look at him in the dimmed room something about him seemed off.
Darkiplier’s usual red and blue outline was almost invisible, making him look more human than usual. In the fire light, small bits of it flashed into view but disappeared again just as quickly as it appeared. His entire being just seemed to fit the mood.
“What are you doing here? Not that I’m unhappy with your visit, but it’s a little random.” He walked over to (Y/n), smiling as he placed a bottle of wine on a side table. “The lights went out, and I assumed you’d like some company. I know that nighttime thunderstorms can be a bit unsettling.” (Y/n) smiled and blushed at his comment.
"Well then, would you like to join me?" She opened her blanket to let him in, but he just smiled, "In a minute darling. Let me prepare something for us." He winked and wandered off into the kitchen.
(Y/n) left the couch and from a closet nearby, she took out a box of small unscented candles and laid them around the room, lighting them shortly after. The light sound of footsteps returned and (Y/n) turned around, spotting Dark with two nice glasses, pouring the expensive red wine into them.
She returned to the couch, and he smiled at her, his 3D effect more visible due to the candles. Dark joined her a few seconds later as thunder clapped again. It was nice, just the two of them sitting together.
Dark had summoned a record player and it softly played music as they drank the wine he had brought. The mood of the room just seemed to change for the better. (Y/n) was beyond happy.
"Just out of curiosity, what's with the candles, darling? Were you really having that much trouble seeing my pretty face?"
(Y/n) giggled, bringing her hand up and caressing his jaw. "You don't have to hide any part of yourself from me, y'know." Dark leaned closer, resulting in an Eskimo kiss, and he smiled. "I thought that my outline would irritate you, especially being this close to me." She smiled back, kissing his cheek. "You could never irritate me."
As she finished speaking, a new song began to play and Dark placed his glass down while standing up from the couch. "Dance with me?" He held his hand out and (Y/n) took it, her hand was soft and warm, something that Dark found pleasant.
He brought (Y/n) close to his chest and placed his hands on her hips. Her arms snaked behind his neck, and the two of them swayed to the music. (Y/n) rested her head on his broad chest. He smelled vaguely of expensive cologne and black coffee. It was an odd mixture, but it was comforting.
As they danced, Dark hummed softly, matching the song note for note. "How do you know this song? It's quite old." Dark looked down at her, with a sad smile. "It was quite beautiful back when it was first played. I wish you had been there with me." It dawned upon (Y/n) just how old Dark really was, but it didn't bother her.
"If I had been, I wouldn't be dancing here with you."
Dark smiled, leaning forward and resting his forehead against hers. "That's true. I'm glad we at least get to enjoy it now."
(Y/n) leaned forward and kissed his soft lips gently as rain pattered against the window and fire light danced across their figures. "So am I."
I finally started that YouTube channel I mentioned earlier. Sorry about the volume. I was using a laptop to record.
Put his first name into Google translate. His name is literally two kanjis and it means "jojo" so his name is literally "jojo higashikata"
