It takes Glinda four hours to stop crying. It takes her four days to realize that Elphaba shouldnât have died. It takes her four weeks to figure out what sheâs going to do about it. And it takes her four years before she finally manages to succeed.Â
Itâs the longest four years of her life.Â
~~~
Glinda keeps her promise. She does not order Elphabaâs name cleared, and she does not issue a pardon. She allows her citizens their celebrations, but she also makes sure to see that all the posters are torn down, the banners burned, and the paintings scrubbed clean from any buildings. She erases all signs and evidence of the Wicked Witch and what she may or may not have looked like.Â
She erases all signs of Elphaba, so thoroughly that, sometimes, Glinda sits in her room with a pen in her hand and a blank sketchbook in her lap, and she is afraid. She is afraid of forgetting.
Is it true you were her friend?
~~~
Sometimes, Glinda has dreams. She dreams of rose petals and snowfall and secrets whispered into the night. There's a certain peace to these dreams, even if she always wakes to tears dripping down her face.Â
Most of the time, though, Glinda has nightmares.
~~~
âWhat do you mean âleaveâ? Oz needs you!â
Glinda sighs, a hefty thing filled with hope and fear and longing and regret. Itâs been years, and itâs been hard, but the truth is: Oz doesnât need her anymore. Not the way it used to. It can last a few months on its own.Â
âYouâll be fine,â she tells them. âOz is in good hands.â
âWill you at least tell us where youâre going?â
The Good Witch turns her head to the west, her eyes finding the distant horizon.Â
âIâm going home.â
~~~
Tell me a secret.
Promise me!
Hold out, my sweet.
Is it true you were her friend?
~~~
Glinda sways, the adrenaline of the moment fading as she feels the weeks of travel, the months of planning, the years, really, of worry and guilt and sorrow and grief wash over her with the force of an avalanche.
It rumbles and breaks and crashes against her, burying her in hazy white that creeps over her vision so slowly she doesnât even realize whatâs happening until she feels herself fall, and the ground rush up to her as her world fades to black.
The last thing she sees is the unmistakable sight of green skin.
~~~
âYou can let go now, Glinda,â Elphaba says.Â
Glinda just shakes her head and buries her nose further in the dip of Elphabaâs neck. She canât quite breathe, but the idea of letting Elphaba out of her arms terrifies her too much to care. Sheâs drowning and burning and slipping from reality, something like hysteria clogging up her throat.Â
She canât. She canât she canât she canât.Â
 âGlinda?â Elphabaâs voice has softened with concern as she realizes Glinda isnât just crying. âHey, itâs okay. Iâm not going anywhere.â
Glinda doesnât believe her. Canât believe her. Because Elphaba has said it before. Elphaba has promised she wouldnât leave her before. But she did. She left. And the moment Glinda opens her eyes or dares to let go, itâll be like she died all over again.
And she just- she canât.
Felt like I should make something silly after my last post
Also, Wicked fandom, who is responsible for the ship name for this OT3 being âGliyerabaâ when âGelphiero/Gelphiyeroâ is right there and sounds so much better
Also, how do Spotted and Tiger react to Cloudkit? Especially Spotted now that we've seen her speech about letting kittypets in!

Tiger: You're telling me, small Fireheart is kin to this ball of snow that's almost as big as Brindleface's kits despite being like a moon younger? No, no way. I admit if it had been freshly named Fireheart I would've probably rolled my eyes, but Cloudkit is just a kit, and he will only remember the forest... That makes him Clan now.
Spotted: I just... Look, if Fireheart lied about not visiting kittypets, how much has he lied to Bluestar? And she just lets it pass? Hmm, I wonder how uch she'll let it slide with this one
Just some designs for Gelphie daywear from my fic! Iâve been meaning to do sketches for a while I just never got around to it.
For me I think my favorite designs are Glindaâs stripes from Chapter 12, and Elphieâs casual from Chapter 16. Let me know your faves! Iâll hopefully have more of the casual fits from chapters 20+, and updated formal fits from the first half :3
hordak is such a ridiculous man because my brother really came out here with the COOLEST fucking entrance and he was genuinely being set up as such a scary and threatening villain
like look at this he actually looks so fucking cool when we first see him. i honestly thought he was going to be our main villain for the entirety of the series.
but then we see him interact with entrapta and then the realization suddenly hits that not only is he the most awkward person ever he's also just turned into like WifeGuyâą the second entrapta talks to him.
absolute fucking loser i'm just obsessed with how hard he tries to just act like a normal villain; like he has the scary armor, the dimly lit lair and throne, even his voice sounds scary like.
he even has his own weird little minion and whatever the fuck shadow weaver is. generally, his whole scary vibe and plans for world domination set him up as a proper villain, but then he meets entrapta and all of that just CRUMBLES and is tossed out the window.
10/10 i'm a fan of the progression.
Wicked is a story about everyone being doomed because two gay people thought they were straight.
no no cause the thing is- i think its super curious that within the wicked fandom glinda is really fucking popular. we love our little blonde witch over here.
but the casual wicked viewers, people just watching a movie, are almost always anti-glinda. I've seen a couple of like post-wicked-coming-out-on-peacock-first-watch videos on tiktok now and they're all like "fuck glinda, she's not her friend"đ
