Explaining my latest au because I have nothing better to do!

This is. Really long.

So the entire thing focuses mostly on death pact (and not just death pact again). The main character I guess is Tree

This whole thing stems from the fact Tree seems to not really care about death prevention as much as I thought he did? Like obviously he isn't the least caring of it but there's like the funny plant and also I think I remember him pushing bottle into the pit when it wasn't necessary (my memory isn't too good though idk if he had a reason why or not) and just

You can probably see where this is going. One of my earlier posts talked about how most of my aus are about murder. This is no different. Tree murders ppl lol

Anyways the setting of the au is different from the actual show. The first season of bfdi happened and most stuff in bfdia except with less competition elements, idfb is irrelevant and about the time of bfb four and x don't show up. The tpot hotel is there though (it was a abandoned hotel in the au that was rebuilt and given electricity basically) and the whole thing is like the contestants living in this sort of town? Like thing? Except the only meaningful building is the hotel (other locations are gelatins stakehouse (abandoned and basically used as a storage place, gbs factory ofc, the clubhouse of awesomeness (freesmart doesn't have a fallout here) and uhh nothing else I think))

OKAY BACK TO THE PLOT STUFF SORRY THIS IS SO MESSY so the first time is when Tree accidentally knocks bottle down a hill and she shatters. And he isn't as upset about it as he feels he should be so he kinds just stands there looking at the shards for a bit before going to recover her

It is notable that the recovery center has to be maintained and if there are too many recoveries without maintenance it'll break down.

Bottle isn't upset when recovered and the whole thing isn't a big deal, it was just an accident after all

So then tree starts to think about like what if it wasn't an accident. And obviously these are not good thoughts right?

So anyways then he kills someone else not by accident. Who it is doesn't matter what matters is who he kills didn't see him so he's like 'oh I'll just recover them and it'll be no biggie, no one saw me' except someone did see him. Pillow did.

Sometime before when the au takes place Pillow had been basically exiled because she had started her whole death = good luck thing and again the recovery center can only handle so much in the au so she was kicked out but she didn't really leave and had been basically stalking everyone. She sees tree kill this person (and he was not good at it, it was very clumsy and he was very lucky he wasn't seen by the person he killed. Hmmm. Luck. I wonder what Pillow thinks of that!) And is like 'oh interesting wth is he doing that for' and then proceeds on with her day

Tree doesn't immediately recover the person he killed though because that could raise suspicions so instead during like a role call thing to make sure nobody is dead the person isn't there and are recovered. No one suspects a thing. And tree thinks great now I can go back to normal!

So the next night he kills someone again. And again he is very lucky to not have been caught or seen.

This continues for 2 more days until people (mainly most of death pact and also Golf Ball because she's the one who has to fix the recovery center most of the time) have had enough and start to interview the people who have been killed and others. This is very stressful for tree because he has to interview the people he murdered about himself even if they don't know it was him. It'd probably be a good idea to stop killing people now because its getting riskier. (Also he does these interviews with Fanny just wanted to bring that up)

So he kills another person the next night specifically gelatin idk why just go with it. Pillow is now very interested because again Tree is not good at this and in her eyes this is basically proving her theory, because he should have been caught by now but wasn't and she thinks its because he was killing people. But she doesn't do anything (yet)

Gelatin is interviewed and tree isn't too concerned because like obviously he didn't see him! But gelatin did see something in the corner of his eye before he was promptly squished, which was something green. Which narrows down the potential subjects very much. Luckily gelatin doesn't know what specific green (it was too dark) or anything else of note. In fact the fact he saw something green isn't even really taken into consideration that much by anyone else. Luckily.

Tree is very on edge now though so that night he does not murder anyone and just goes for a normal night walk (which isn't really normal in the first place because normally he doesn't like talking walks out night because he is plant and walking takes energy) when he encounters Pillow

He's shocked because he had no idea she was even still there and Pillow is like 'hey I wanna kill ppl too lets work together' and tree is hesitant at first but she convinces him because she says she'll help him not be so clumsy about it so that there's less chance of him being caught and even says that if there is any chance of him being caught it could easily be blamed on her anyways (which wouldn't be incorrect, just not the full story) its seen as worth it for her because more death = more luck so to her there's basically no way anything bad could happen

So now they're both killing people, death pact is getting more and more agitated but nothing bad really happens

Except one night tree is doing the normal thing you know murdering someone and at this point it doesn't even really bother him anymore because he's gotten comfortable that it'll all be fine

But then he finds out fanny had stalked him that specific night. She had been suspicious for a bit, pushing it aside at first because she does like him as friend (in a fanny way) but soon there are too many dots that just demanded to be connected. He would randomly walk out at night during the nights of murders, he seemed really nervous during interviews, the green thing… So she pretended to be asleep and when tree left (most groups share a hotel room, not beds though) she followed secretly and what would you know, she was right

Now obviously she is very very disappointed and also furious and tree is panicking and is like 'wait let me explain!' So she's like 'okay explain' (but mean) and he doesn't actually have an explanation so she says 'I'm telling everyone' and starts to run off

Tree doesn't want to kill fanny because they're friends but its either her life or his at this point and in a really impulsive move he attacks her as she's running off. Most of his other victims were really easy to kill but fanny puts up a fight and he is considerably roughed up but in the end she is killed. But if tree was found with obvious evidence of a fight and fanny was found dead then even more people might suspect him, so he just kinda lays down and sleeps so that the next morning he could be found and would say the killer went after him and fanny but only managed to kill fanny

His plan works black hole and marker specifically find him and the body and ask tree who killed her and attacked him and he panics so instead of saying something easy like, oh idk, pillow he's like 'uhhh I got no idea!' So they're like 'oh that's okay we can recover fanny and she'll tell us!' So now tree is really panicking because this whole thing is going to end really badly

He tries not to let it show and follows them to the recovery center and they type her name in and

All the comes out is a pile of scrap plastic and wires

You see that night pillow had been up to her own shenanigans and killed golf ball. While she was doing some much needed maintenance on the recovery center (the death frequency had really gone up) so now the recovery center doesn't work. Everyone freaks out, tree isn't sure if he should be relieved (he won't be found out) or sad (his friend is dead forever now and its 'kinda' his fault and his actions have actual consequences now)

Everyone is on high alert and tree considers stopping this whole thing but pillow convinces him otherwise and they work together more often and more effectively. Tree feels more guilt now though.

People are dying too often and now there's only so many left. At some point tree has been spending a lot of time with black hole because black hole is very reasonably stressed because everyone is dying forever and black hole is also trying to distance himself because he doesn't want to kill every ESPECIALLY now because again. Forever die. Tree sees/hears this and is like 'omg he's like me' (but internally. And he's also very wrong and also delusional.)

At some point, and this isn't really plot important but I wanna say it, the freesmart gang minus ice cube because she's DEAD decide this place is not worth it and leave using the freesmart super van. Pillow watches this happen. Don't ask me how she got there because that isn't the point but she ends up purposely standing in the road as they drive (this is decently far away from the hotel area) and nobody recognizes her and everyone freaks out because there's a person in the road so Pencil swerves the car. Uh. Directly into a giant rock. A giant, damaged rock. And the rock falls onto the van and crushes pencil, bubble had popped from the force of the swerve earlier, book gets her leg crushed by the rock and Ruby is fine and Match is also 'fine' (her girlfriend(pencil) just died and she was just in a car crash so about as fine as she can be really).

So anyways now there's like ~12 (excluding Pillow) people left in the hotel area place because everyone is either dead or left. Most of death pact, minus Fanny and Bottle and Pie, are alive thankfully! Tennis Ball is also alive but he's depressed because his girlfriend is dead also. Nobody else matters.

Now up until this point Pillow has been compliant in not killing and death pacters but now she tells tree 'hey I'm gonna kill someone now (either remote or pen. Idk which yet) and tree is like 'uh don't do that that is my friend' and pillow is like 'okay who cares' so tree is like 'I care' and they argue and in the end Pillow suddenly decides its fine! All good she won't! And its a bit suspicious how she just suddenly switched up but tree doesn't push it.

Then marker goes missing. He's just gone. Tree freaks out the most out of all of them because he doesn't want his death to be his own fault. They find marker though and he's alive! His left eye was stabbed out though. Ouch! Marker is tended too, black hole and tree talk about how stressed both he and tree are

Tree confronts pillow later and she says basically 'you're lucky I didn't outright kill him' so now tree doesn't really want to work with her in fact with so few people he doesn't care about (non death pacters, basically) he's not really as ready to keep killing anymore, but pillow likes killing with him! She finds it a little bit more fun than killing on her own, for now at least, so she says 'keep doing or else I'll tell literally everyone'

Tree has a plan though. He pretends to agree, and he's actually gotten much better at lying at this point. So a few nights later they plan to kill another person. Tree leads the person put to be ambushed by Pillow. Except… Once Pillow kills the person (doesn't matter who, just isn't tennis ball or a death pacter) tree yells and is like 'EVERYONE I GOT HER' and everyone wakes up and its pretty easy to see hey, pillow killed someone! Because she did! And tree looks pretty innocent!

Pillow is strong but it's a outnumbered fight especially because black hole, having enough of this, impulsively sucks her up. He's a bit shell shocked after doing so (even if she killed everyone (so he thinks) that's still killing. doesn't feel nice. (This is another thing tree sees as them having something in common. Again, he's delusional)) but hey its okay! Everything's over!

And really things were okay for a bit, like a week or two. Kinda. Most everyone is dead now but at least nobody else will be! right?

Tree tells himself just one more time, to get it out of his system. That's what he said the first time too. And many different times. And it never was just one more time.

He leads someone, this time a death pacter (he's sleep deprived and also sunlight deprived at this point. Not doing good. Also its either pen or remote, again.) Out in the pretense of like hey how about a relaxing walk. And he kills them.

Black hole sees him.

They sorta stand (or float) there for a second because neither knows how to react. Black hole is like 'hey you didn't actually kill everyone right' and tree is like 'uhh… I kinda did' (and he admits because black hole would never kill him, right? They're friends! And also again he is not doing good)

So they stand there still. Staring at each other.

Black hole starts freaking out because everything is falling apart and it has been falling apart again and again and again and tree says 'hey its okay I understand!' And talks about the whole 'we're kinda similar because of this' and black hole is speechless because tree is again, delusional

So anyways tree is dead now. No more murdering, yay! Sure there very, very few people left, like… ~7? And black hole went back into space but there's no more murdering. And maybe the recovery center could be fixed one day, once tennis ball gets his stuff together.
