Then, the 13th century (mwahaha) , the Philippines joined the Yuan Dynasty's maritime trade network, linking China with Southeast Asia, India, and the Middle East.

Chinese traders settled in the Philippines during this time.

Chinese people kept coming to the Philippines as traders and workers, but there were conflicts with the Spanish. The Spanish and Chinese communities had tension, which led to violent conflicts and anti-Chinese campaigns.

Spain has uhhh. Fantasised about invading and colonising Ming dynasty China in the past which is hilarious because Ming dynasty China was pretty strong?
