How I made my last-minute seifuku shirt

I came up with a school girl costume bc i thought it would be a lot of fun to paint paint paint X)

I first started sketching what the shirt looked like and what colors should I use. I decided to go with purple because I want to pair it with my lavender skirt (◑‿◐)

I used a plain white shirt (my mom had an extra :3 ), some masking tape and Liquitex Acrylic Color or acrylic paint. Simple as that! :3

It turned out to be okay (i think). It had a little paint on the sleeves because of my clumsiness hehe ooops. The paint I used was permanent and water resistant so curse my clumsiness > < I tried bleaching it but it didn't work so I just accepted my fate.

It's Easy To Blame The Weather After two days of heat, sweat, and extra-large water bottles at the sports complex, I finally laid my hands on Magnolia's Avocado Macchiato ice cream huhuhu 😭 Even though the sun was crazy the whole day, right when it was about to set, we all saw this little flare of color in the sky 🌈

School has just started but no one can stop me from going back to the sea. ✨🌊

Even in the tiniest details could make a difference. 😌💚

Australia's burning, unsustainable tourism slowly thrives in my island, bleaching corals almost everywhere. Being just a mere spectator in all of this totally sucks. A decade for change and action please. 💚 Let's do what we can, we have no time for wars.

There has been a whale shark interaction recently established for tourism here in my place and it was suspected for feeding. Whale sharks follow a migratory path for food in the waters and if the feeding and baiting goes on, then their paths are definitely disrupted. The province has been on the issue for quite some time now, and orders were given to the municipality to take necessary action. But from what I have heard, people operating the site didn't claim to feed the fish but instead baiting them. I personally don't know how that differentiates with feeding. I find it strange how people desperately find ways to protect the obviously wrong things.

I had zero knowledge of the whale sharks before I encountered them in Oslob, Cebu. Back then, they were feeding them with uyap (baby shrimp). I knew nothing about the massive ecological disturbance of the people and the business did to our waters. But I'm here trying my best to use what I had learned back then and do as much as I can. So far, volunteering has been my greatest achievement and I look forward to my contributions though small, at the very least it's enough to contaminate the minds of other people haha 😂😉

Little Discoveries

Hello internet

I was jam-packed with papers and exams and now that it’s all over, I’ll spend the rest of my days with my beloved laptop (without the guilt >:D). But but while I was busy with all those academic stuff, I stumbled upon a good book. A very very good book.

The Heritage Of Music by Katherine B. Shippen & Anca Seidlova with illustrations by Otto Van Eersel

Exploring the thoroughly shifting fashions and major periods of serious music. From the hymns, the classics, the romantics, to the compelling beats of modern jazz.

What I think:

Lovely. I love how it really tells the story of how the compositions were made of. I love how their music resonates to the life they had led and I think that their true feelings were expressed in the music. And yeah I really like it ^ ^

Oh and to think that Bach’s works were neglected and his sons turned away from his music. To think that it was rediscovered a hundred years later, and the world began to look at  his compositions in a whole different way today. (really, wow)

I also found an old music box and it plays Traumerei (Dreaming) from Kinderszenen Op.15 (Scenes from Childhood) by Schumann. Found it in an old photo album with little music boxes inside :3

I’m Baaack

Finally have the guts to return to this cave. A lot has happened over the past year that I didn’t even had the chance to arrange my thoughts.

One thing is I didn’t kept everything elsewhere and maybe I already made my mind explode before I even realized it so I think this is the good place to start (again). Really, it’s great to be back writing. Hello to this side of the internet, oh how I’ve missed you huhu 🌸

Scenery Practice 🌱

Found a beautiful photo set of From Up On Poppy Hill on Twitter and decided to paint them. I’ve got to say that I am actually learning perspectives and painting details in these works such the sunlight, shadows, and especially in painting them distinctly (when it comes to the distance of the trees and other objects). Scenery from films like Ghibli and Shinkai help a lot and I’m really trying to incorporate these ooh moments I’ve had right now, hopefully & eventually using it for another project which will be painting my favorite corners/places in my city. (yay soon)🌞🎨✏
