I think I like the more subtle acting in this show. Like right here I think Arajin is understanding that when he talked down about Honki people (as a result of his own trauma about events in the past), he was belittling the sentiment keeping Matakara afloat without his brother. Before this he had been too absorbed in his own imagined problems to think that Matakara was struggling with something himself.

bucchigiri?! I agree! I like how he’s slowly starting to show his empathic side + acknowledge his actions/people ofc it’s baby steps but it’s a start hopefully as the story progresses we get to see more of these moments

twelve episodes is nothing in this economy. bucchigiri deserved exactly thirty-nine episodes and a movie that toed the line between retelling and direct sequel to the original series

bucchigiri?! exactly in some perfect world this started off as a gag manga in the mid 90s that had a short run but then got a longer OVA adaptation in the late- 90s/early 2000s that would be even more bonkers with its symbolism and humor gayer and darker in tone… sadly we r not there the 39 eps and the movie being a line between a retelling and direct sequel reminded of utena I really wish this was longer like I want to know more about all these characters and the story I need there to be like 12 “filler” episodes that are actually just as important as the rest of the plot I wanna see the slowburn between arajin and matakara also everyone deserves to have their own episodes that also tie back to the main themes of the plot this also goes for other shows btw I think other shows should also get more than just 12 eps. I may not always have time to watch more than 12 but there are so much anime w potential that are begging for a longer runtime
