—CHAPTER TWO: little things
pairing: Javier Peña x f! reader
previous part | next part | masterlist
a/n: a little look back in time, a little insight into what’s going on, a lot of pain and angst but maybe some hope ? these two a easily carving out a place in my heart, I hope y’all are as invested as I am bc there is def more to come
Falling in love with Javier had happened pretty fast.
It wasn’t the exact moment you saw him, but it may as well have been.
There was a gorgeous kind of levity to him as he hid his laughter behind the neck of the bottle of beer dangling so casually from his grip, a beautiful kind of stoicism to him as the mood around the table died off and the blonde man sat beside him pulled himself to his feet, tossed a few bills down and shuddered him with a sturdy hit to the shoulder. He surveyed the crowd out of what seemed to be genuine curiosity, scanning the field just like all the single men seemed to be, but there was a reverence in the delicious color of his deep eyes, something you didn’t know how to quantify as they landed on you. There was a depth to him that words could just never come close to describing.
Maybe it would have saved you a lot of hurt if you had turned away the second you caught sight of him across the bar, but even at his worst, even as you cradled yourself, desperate for warmth beneath the thick woven stitch of the dark tones of the afghan blanket thrown over your shoulders, you couldn’t really imagine doing it different.
No one made you grab your glass and meet him at the bar. It was all you.

I don’t mean to sound like a bitch but I’m genuinely clueless and it might be because I don’t create on here but I don’t understand why y’all always upset about the “reblogs to likes” ratio. Imo Tumblr isn’t really the best place to post content since literally nothing you do here is monitizable but I guess it can be to get commissions. Or do y’all just genuinely like gif making and such that you just want people to appreciate your work? I just basically wanna hear your reasoning as to why the ratio bothers you
We just want people to appreciate our work. It’s as simple as that. The majority of us make content purely because we enjoy making it. We’re not looking to make money from it. Making gifs, edits and fan art can take hours, even days. Someone liking our work is nice enough but reblogging it means that more people will see it and therefore will lead to more notes. By just liking a gifset, edit, fan art and not reblogging is basically saying you don’t think it’s worth showing other people and it’s just really disheartening.
Frankie Morales x Reader
Word Count: just under 4400
Tags: Pining, Fake Dating because Frankie has an annoying coworker, cursing, my roughly unedited terrible writing, I don’t think there’s anything else?
A/N: Okay, y’all. I wrote a thing. It literally would not have been finished without the constant support of @rzrcrst. I’m just going to put this here and yeet myself into the void. Let me know what you think. Or not, it’s whatever. Gif credit to @pascalplease (let me know if you don’t want your gif used, sweetie)
The bar was crowded and loud, but you still heard Frankie’s quiet curse as he pulled his cap further down over his eyes.
“You good, Frankie?” you asked with a nudge of your shoulder.
He huffed and curled in on himself more. “You remember me telling you about that girl I work with? The one who works the gate?”
How could you not? He had complained about Kelly almost as long as you’d known him.

My advice to people, but especially kids, who are invested in celebrities, be they actors, musicians, bloggers, youtubers, authors, whatever, is to keep your distance. No matter how happy their content makes you, no matter how strong the pull of a special interest/hyperfixation/obsession might be, it’s important to step back every so often.
Do you find yourself following them on all forms of social media? Do you follow their friends and family, who might not even make content themselves? Do you research their lives? Step back. Just because they are famous doesn’t mean it’s okay to engage in stalking behavior.
Do you find yourself getting anxious if you miss a video, or they upload off schedule? Step back. I know they can help you through dark times but you can’t rely on them all the time.
Would you be devastated if they turned out to be a not-so-nice person? Step back. You can only trust them as much as you trust any stranger. Don’t see yourself up to be shattered if they fall off that pedestal you put them on.
No matter how much somebody interacts with their audience, the relationship is still parasocial. Just keep that in mind. Don’t put all your trust in a stranger. It’s okay to enjoy these people and their content, but keep your distance and step back.
Meet Saraya: she was experiencing a mental health crisis. Police came and tackled her. She is 15.
Saraya Rees is a 15 year old biracial girl from Coos County, Oregon. After being abruptly instructed to stop taking her antidepressants by a local pediatrician, Saraya went into psychosis. In her manic state, Saraya poured a small amount of gasoline on the floor. Her parents called Coos Health & Wellness in hope that that would send mental health advisors, Coos Health & Wellness sent the police. While still in psychosis, the officers arrested her, questioned her without her family or lawyers present, charged with attempted murder and assault, and sent her to juvenile prison for 11 years.
ELEVEN.YEARS.
This is not justice.
This is inhumane.

yall better be just as outraged about this as you were about notre dame
Oof okay this is just me being a tad frustrated overall but:
I'm... pretty fed up with the situation on tumblr right now, not gonna lie. Yes this is about fics, and yes I do have the right to complain about it.
Because yes, I write for myself. That's absolutely true.
But I write everything what's happening in my head down for you, and writing takes a LOT of work. I would not be staying up late at night, typing sentences away on my phone or on my laptop if it wasn't for readers.
I would not be trying to make pretty sentences and come up with metaphors and check over grammar again and again and again if not for you.
I would not be editing my fics so much I almost cannot stand to look at them anymore to the point I question the quality of my writing if not for you.
Don't tell me stuff like "yes but we are reading it! There is no reason we should be forced to leave feedback" because that's not what I'm asking of you. That's absolutely NOT what I'm asking of you. I don't want to force you to do anything and in the end I cannot at all because I'm just a simple blog in my corner of the internet but it all boils down to this:
Give your writers exposure.
We work harder than you readers would ever know to get those stories you love out and it's so freaking hard to get it on paper. It takes so much energy and yes it also takes energy to comment, I understand.
But I assure you, taking the time to write a 20 word long comment is WAY less energy than the writer did to get 9000 words out with cohesive plot and creative writing.
So please, reblog. Reblog the fics you read. We writers depend on you.
UNDER CONSTRUCTION!!/ 14.8 billion years old. (jk I'm 25). she/her. welcome to my on fire garbage can blog! you're friendly neighborhood mom friend. I DON'T WRITE SMUT! I am absolutely horrid at that!
