Mori ignores him. "I can't tell where Dazai's plan begins and your stupidity ends, but regardless, such information should have never come out of that mouth of yours. What did you think? That such treachery will be forgiven and you will be made an exception? By the rules of the mafia, you are a traitor."

When one of Dazai's plans go too far, it inadvertently leads to Chuuya's death sentence. While in the dungeon cellars together facing the consequences, Dazai takes care of Chuuya and tries to save him.

“The hell is this?!” Chuuya exclaimed, almost loud enough to make Dazai have to pull the headphones from his ears. He struggled to suppress his giggles at chuuya’s response, it was exactly what he was hoping for.

Kouyou’s laughter soon filled the space. “Well, well it seems our little Chuuya has quite the secret admirer.” She said between giggles.

Dazai only wished he’d had a video feed too, oh to see Chuuya’s face at what was surely sitting in front of him right now. A bouquet of roses, the brightest red Dazai could find. Stage one of his game, his masterful plan to get all of his favorite reactions out of his tiny slug.

“My, my, Chuuya, it seems you’ve had quite the effect on someone. Is there a note?” Mori asked, also sounding equally as amused.

The Envelope

Something horrible in Dazai's past comes back to haunt him in the form of a brown envelope full of pictures.

He expects to be abandoned and shunned, but for all his precision in foreseeing outcomes, he finds that he is not the best at predicting the emotional reactions of those that care about him.

Slowly, Dazai bends down and picks one of them up in a shaking hand.

Kunikida has never seen him like this.

"I don't understand..." Atsushi is saying, but he stays with Ranpo, Kyouka and Kenji where he is, "What are those pictures? What's going on?"

Dazai is terrifyingly held together and calm and collected, his eyes half-lidded and hollow, when he gathers them up from the floor and straightens, when he moves towards the desk and sets them by tapping them against the top, and then carefully puts them back in the envelope.

The silence that follows after is deafening and unbearably long as Dazai stands there with his back to the room, his head bowed, his eyes hidden by his hair.

"I'm going to kill him," he whispers, so quietly it took Kunikida several seconds to make it out.

In one swift motion, he turns with the envelope in hand and storms out of the office.
