Artist Removes 1 Inch Off The Peak Of England’s Highest Mountain; Brits Want Their Inch Back.

Artist removes 1 inch off the peak of England’s highest mountain; Brits want their inch back.

It is still England’s highest mountain, but Scafell Pike is ever so slightly smaller now after an artist stole the top inch of the summit to display in a gallery.

Oscar Santillan, 34, was accused of vandalism after removing the stone pinnacle of the 3,209ft Lake District peak for an exhibition in London.

Ian Stephens, managing director of Cumbria Tourism, said: “This is taking the mickey and we want the top of our mountain back.”

Welp, it’s finally happening and I’m not ready

The folks are getting a divorce- yay! Dad’s an abusive alcoholic, mom is good and deserves so much better. Problem is, my mom, brother and I are being forced to leave the property and getting cut off. I knew this would come but we were counting on actually having a plan and money saved up, but we don’t. This is very sudden and scary and on top of all the bad shit that’s happening I have to say good bye to my babies, my sweet angels that I love so much. I can’t even express how much my heart aches right now, I’m just not prepared for this at all.

We have over 50 chickens that we need to adopt out/sell. Once they’re safe we need to figure out a plan for 4 horses who are my mom’s whole world. She thinks she needs to sell them, but these guys are everything to her, they’re the reason she’s still here today. I have a friend nearby who may be able to take them until we’re on our feet and can find a place to have them, but I haven’t asked her yet. Like I said, this all happened the last two days. I’m so overwhelmed and stressed. After we get the horses taken care of, then we’re going to try and get help from local organizations (social services I guess?) to get out of here and find a cheap place.

I’m obviously keeping Rex, I don’t need to tell y’all how important she is, and she’s cheap and easy to keep. Tatem (fluffy chaos) is staying with me too because same deal. Together they cost all of $20 every 2-3 months which I can manage no problem. I should technically find a home for my snakey, Cornelius, but if I can keep him I will. I’m probably moving in with my friend in NYC for now.

My dear, amazing, absolutely wonderful friend @friedgeppetto is going to kindly take in my pidgies (Piper, Carrie, Peter, lil baby) and our very favorite chickens until we can find a place to have them! Send them love and thanks if you get a chance for being so good, it makes my heart fill up with warmth that they’re willing to help. The birds that are going to them are: my 6 modern games (Flint, Barbar, Killian, Letitia, Dwayne, Laylani), Hazel, Momo (Sweeney’s baby), Tomtom (Barbar niece), Kiki (I’d rather not but she’s bonded to the latter two), Max, Wade, Pansy, my mom’s 6 bantam babies (Butternut, Filbert, Tallow, Hickory, Praline, and Litchi), the weird little serama guy Ferguson, and Capers (Millet’s daughter). Buckley, Sweeney, and two elderly rescues we have will probably also be going to them but it’s iffy.

Some of the bird’s already have homes lines up like my bachelor silkie trio (they’re going to become breeders, they’re gonna be stoked). A friend is taking the two bantam americauna pullets, Dali and Dori. Many of my brother’s orloffs already have homes but not all.

So, here’s a list of all the chickies:

Welp, It’s Finally Happening And I’m Not Ready

If you’re interested in any of them excluding the ones mentioned (or if you are interested in the ones mentioned I guess go for it and maybe you’d be a good match) dm me on discord (Quail#8005) or email me at rexandquail@gmail.com

We live in upstate NY and are now very limited on money so shipping is only possible if the other party pays for the cost, meeting up is subject to what we can afford in fuel. I’ll do my best.

I’ll be posting a full list of all the birds and their information, I just gotta get up to date pictures.

So yeah, life’s falling apart. I’m hurting so much I’m numb. But at least we’re getting out of here…right?

This 4th Of July, Celebrate The World You Want To Live In. Help Reunite Families By Freeing Imprisoned

This 4th of July, celebrate the world you want to live in. Help reunite families by freeing imprisoned migrants held on bond.

On any given day in the U.S., there are over 55,000 people in immigration detention including children. Every day, community bond funds raise money to free our friends and neighbors from immigration detention and make sure they are able to work on their case from a place of freedom.

Your contribution to the 2019 Freedom Day Fund at the Community Justice Exchange will be distributed across the immigration bond funds of the National Bail Fund Network to help post bond for individuals in immigration detention.

depression tips™

shower. not a bath, a shower. use water as hot or cold as u like. u dont even need to wash. just get in under the water and let it run over you for a while. sit on the floor if you gotta.

moisturize everything. use whatever lotion u like. unscented? dollar store lotion? fancy ass 48 hour lotion that makes u smell like a field of wildflowers? use whatever you want, and use it all over.

put on clean, comfortable clothes.

put on ur favorite underwear. cute black lacy panties? those ridiculous boxers u bought last christmas with candy cane hearts on the butt? put em on.

drink cold water. use ice. if u want, add some mint or lemon for an extra boost.

clean something. doesn’t have to be anything big. organize one drawer of ur desk. wash five dirty dishes. do a load of laundry. scrub the bathroom sink.

blast music. listen to something upbeat and dancey and loud, something that’s got lots of energy. sing to it, dance to it, even if you suck at both.

make food. don’t just grab a granola bar to munch. take the time and make food. even if it’s ramen. add something special to it, like a hard boiled egg or some veggies. prepare food, it tastes way better, and you’ll feel like you accomplished something.

make something. write a short story or a poem, draw a picture, color a picture, fold origami, crochet or knit, sculpt something out of clay, anything artistic. even if you don’t think you’re good at it.

go outside. take a walk. sit in the grass. look at the clouds. smell flowers. put your hands in the dirt and feel the soil against your skin.

call someone. call a loved one, a friend, a family member, call a chat service if you have no one else to call. talk to a stranger on the street. have a conversation and listen to someone’s voice. if you can’t, text or email or whatever, just have some social interaction with another person. even if you don’t say much, listen to them.

cuddle your pets if you have them/can cuddle them. take pictures of them. talk to them. tell them how u feel, about your favorite movie, a new game coming out.

Welcome to Australia...

Where an already endangered species is on the brink of functional extinction...

Welcome To Australia...

Oh, and 500 million animals unique to this country have already lost their lives, upon homes that have been destoryed and lives lost of people as well...

Welcome To Australia...

I mean... we're only living in a literal inferno...

Welcome To Australia...

415 fires. Fuck are we dying...

Oh yeah and people are just fleeing to the damn ocean, you know?

Welcome To Australia...

Do you want to know what Hell on Earth looks like..?

Welcome To Australia...
Welcome To Australia...
Welcome To Australia...
Welcome To Australia...

Because there it is in all it's unfiltered, firey rage...

There it is... my home from space...

Welcome To Australia...

This is only the beginning. Our country has not only entered a new decade, it seems a new dawning era as well, because this flaming apocalypse doesn't show any sign of stopping any time soon.

And you know what saddens me? I've never seen Australian tragedies trending here on this website. I mean it's been going on for months and only now does it seem to really be getting recognized, even if it is only at #9.

And I'm going to be honest with you here - the internet, and media in general is so American centric, this website being no exception. You'd think that an entire continent being on fire for several months with devastating consequences would have more recognition, but no, it really doesn't. The most notes I've ever seen on a post about the Australian fires is at least a few thousand, and that's about it.

So just... please. If you can, with this post or any other post in regards to the fires going on down here, reblog. Because the only thing that should be spreading like wildfire, is a post about a burning country...

This guy is my new hero. I LOVE learning about native food plants that just grow everywhere without human help.

The database is a little clunky to use (especially on a phone), but still loads of excellent information.

quick protip: if someone is crying or freaking out over something minor, eg wifi not connecting, can’t find their hat, people talking too loud, do NOT tell them how small or petty the problem is to make it better. they know. they would probably love to calm down. you are doing the furthest possible thing from helping. people don’t have to earn expressions of feelings.
