why do people project onto huntlow then use that as evidence that it’s a “bad” ship
it’s OKAY if you personally don’t like the ship because of your headcanons but the ship itself is not problematic in the slightest
and whenever you guys say “hunter isn’t ready for a relationship”
i’d like you to know that people with trauma are deserving and capable of being with someone else romantically 👍🏿
Israel occupied Palestinian Rafah 2 days ago and began the second phase of the displacement plan. The Israeli army is besieging Palestinians in the Al-Nawasi area, southwest of the Gaza Strip, near the coastline
Why on Earth should our children live their life in that horrible situation? Why on Earth should the children be killed in vain ?

stop. stop. it is not just the women and children of gaza. it is not just the mothers. it is also the men. the fathers, the uncles, the vendor, the neighbor, the barber. stop dehumanising them. they are also being killed. they are also being bombed. they are also losing loved ones. palestinians are also losing their fathers and brothers. stop it. stop erasing the pain and suffering of palestinian men. they deserve our love, care and voice just as much as the women and children do.

Pairings: Widowed! Fem! Reader x Lovesick! Tanjiro
Word Count: 5.3k
Warnings: Previous Rengoku x Reader, Angst (but also not?)with bitter sweet ending, but def some fluff moments, SEASON 2 SPOILERS, Character death, Pining, Depression, lack of eating, grief, crying, delusion, maybe mental illness?
Summary: Tanjiro has finally won you over. You are finally his, but how is he supposed to respond when you begin to call him by your ex-fiances name?
Tanjiro has so much love to give. He couldn't help it, after the passing of his whole family he needed to transfer it to someone. Nezuko holds a good portion of it, and so do Zenitsu, Inosuke, and his master, and of course the Hashiras, but it was nothing compared to what he felt for you.
You came into his life so suddenly, falling in love with you was so easy. The passion in your voice when you talked of demons, you hated them, but you weren't like all the other slayers. You felt compassion toward them, they suffer so much, and nobody deserves a cruel death. You were kind, even to creatures who didn't deserve it.
You never wanted to be a slayer. You were forced into it when the village of your family was slaughtered. It was your duty, whether you liked it or not. He vowed to extinguish Muzan so that you wouldn't have to fight anymore.
He fell for your personality. So, teasing, knowing just how to make blush and stumble over his words. The perfect mediator between the three of them, knowing what exactly to say to make each and everyone happy. You were so soft-hearted, but fierce, having some sort of sisterly protectiveness over Nezuko.
But you weren't his. Only a couple days of knowing the flame Hashira, you fell, all the while he was healing at the butterfly mansion. He wished he convinced you to train with him there instead of leaving you alone with a high-rank demon slayer. But he couldn't turn back time.
He could understand, Rengoku was stronger than he will ever be. He would be able to end the demon race if you asked him to. He was kind too, and loved by all. The two of you were a great couple.
Even so, envy tore at him. He hated himself for it. He couldn't even be mad at the two of you. He loved you both so much.
Selfishly as he felt, he was glad that the five of you remained on missions together. He didn't know what he would do if you told him that you would stick with Rengoku. He didn't know why you decided to stick with his group, but although he shouldn't, he felt his heart beat faster. He wanted to know if you wanted to stick with him rather than the group. He would never ask.
So here the five of you were, walking east to kill a demon that seemed to be targeting elderly people. You sit on top of Nezukos box, facing behind Tanjiro, kicking your legs out mindlessly. He doesn't mind the extra weight, he says that it helps him with training, but in reality, he likes the idea of supporting you, as silly as it sounds considering you can easily walk.
“It's not fair Tanjiro! Why do you get to carry all the pretty girls? Y/N-chan~do you want to get on my back?” Zenitsu complains pulling on Tanjiros feet. He is now holding three people's body weight, without a sign of distress.
He quickly argues, not wanting to give this up. “Sorry Zenitsu, but I think it's a good idea for Y/N to stick with me so that she can watch our backs.” It was a ridiculous response. No demons are coming to lurk in the day. But Zenitsu just whines and cries, still on the floor being dragged.
You glance down at the blonde. “Wow, Tanjiro, how impressive, being able to carry three people with no sweat.” He blushes and smiles. Another thing he fell for, is how often you complimented him, with no malice intent, simply because you truly believed it.
“It's no big deal, really! I guess the Butterfly Mansion trained me pretty well,” He says, tilting his head back to get a look at you, you grin at him and his eyes light up, before turning back ahead.
Suddenly, his back feels lighter so he turns around. You were gone. He blinks. “Hey! Give me the demon! And the both of you get on my back! I am stronger than the both of you combined!” Inosuke shouts before trying to pick him up. You were perched upon one shoulder, giving the boy a small, cute wave while Zenitsu was being held, much less gently, in his other arm.
“Hey! Inosuke, put them down! Look at Zenitsu, he is obviously uncomfortable,” He scolds all the while you laugh, and Zenitsu cries out, “Save me Tanjiro!”.
“And why should I? I have to prove that I am the strongest demon slayer out there!” The boar continues and you smile softly before jumping off of his shoulder and in front of him.
You tap the snout of his mask playfully. “Sorry Inosuke, but I think that title goes to Kyojuro. I watched him carry five Hashiras with no sweat.” You sigh and stare off whimsically. “I miss him.” Inosuke drops the blonde with a huff but doesn't say anything.
Tanjiro smiles softly, and hurtfully. You called him by his first name. Nobody, other than maybe the other Hashiras calls him that. He knew it was real, but he thought that maybe with this trip it would go back to what things were like before you met the flame wielder. Maybe he could pretend it never happened. He was wrong.
Zenitsu stands up and taps on his shoulder, with a knowing smile. He was always good at picking these things up. Tanjiro smiles back with a small nod, and stares back at you, who was teasing Inosuke and making him even more angry. You wore that smile that lit up the room. He couldn't help but stare.
If only things were different.
You arrive at the town in the late evening and immediately Tanjiro asked the group to split up to track the demon. Zenitsu and Inosuke went left, while you, him, and Nezuko, still in the box, went right.
You didn't have a strong nose like he did, but your eyesight was sharp. It was easy for you to spot demons in the distance, better than a normal person. It made the two of you a good team, while he closed his eyes to track the demon, you could spot any threats approaching. That's exactly what you guys were doing now.
He takes a deep breath, and suddenly he can sense the trail of where the demon was at. Above. They were hopping from rooftop to rooftop snatching up helpless people. “You got it?” You whisper, trying not to throw his focus off balance.
He nods with a small grunt and you nod in return. “They are up on top. I don't…They don't smell that strong, I can kill them, if you want to stay here.” He always asked you this. He knows how much you hate doing this. If he could make it a little easier on you, he would exert himself more.
You reach up to pat his head with a smile, while he refrains from blushing. “My Tanjiro, so kind. You trying to leave me?” You tease and he rapidly shakes his head. This was basically routine for the two of you, but every time it makes his heart pound. My Tanjiro. Even if you were teasing him, he loved when that word fell from your mouth. “Sorry, I can't let you do that. Besides, now that I am engaged to a Hashira, I have to get some training in!”
His world stops. Engaged. You never told him the two of you were engaged. To be wed. He gulps. Did he ever have a chance now? He was spiraling and he misses the way you are frantically yelling his name.
Suddenly, there is the smell of your blood and he is on the floor. He blinks back into reality, to you above him, eyes squinting in pain. His eyes travel to the gash in your shoulder and his eyes widen. “You with me? I was screaming your name! The demon is here!” You had pushed him down and taken the blow of the demon's claws when he went unresponsive.
He lets out a shaky huff, mouth slightly open as the regret seeps in. His eyes go wide as he stares at the large gash, without tended, you could bleed out.
He lets himself look away, and toward the demon who was now licking his blood-soaked claws with delight. He was tall, abnormally skinny, and what he could tell, weak. Like he had only consumed two or three humans. When he catches Tanjiro's stare he grins maliciously. “My my, your girlfriend, tastes fantastic. C'mon, can't I just have another bite?”
You are trembling above him. He feels nauseated at the smell and pissed at the sight ahead of him. He ignores the demon's words and instead takes to helping you. He quickly manages to turn you over and leans you against a wall. He grabs a bandage from his pocket and hands it to you. “Place it on the wound. I have to kill him first before I can apply medicine. You're going to be fine. Completely fine.” He reassures mostly himself because he couldn't bear to think of what would happen if you were not.
You smile at him and guilt continues to pull at his feet. If he wasn't so distracted this would never happen. He should have expected you to say something like that. I mean it wasn't uncommon for people to get married that quickly.
He stands to his feet and glares at the demon, before raising his sword. The creature can't even mumble another insult before his head is cut off.
It makes your eyes widen. You have never seen Tanjiro move so quickly.
He doesn't spare the demon another glance before he is turning back to you. He kneels in front of you, eyes wide and worried. “Are you alright? C'mon, let's get you to an inn.” You nod with a small groan before trying to pick yourself off the floor. “Hey, don't move. I got you, keep the bandage on the wound. It's going to be alright.” He picks you up effortlessly, and sprints toward the closest inn, as you groan into his chest. “I'm sorry. It's all my fault. Can you use total concentration breathing to help with the pain?” You nod and focus on your breathing. Adrenaline was pulsing through his veins as he nearly screamed at the poor old lady that own the place for overnight stays.
He quickly pays for the room, before slamming the door shut and setting you on the floor. He quickly sets Nezuko down across the room, trying to leave some breathing room away from the blood. Then he grabs all the medicine he has in his kimono from Ms. Tamayo.
He gently pulls off your kimono, unphased for the first time at the thought of undressing you due to the circumstances. He daps the medicine on and you hiss. His hand flinches at the noise and the guilt comes flooding back gain. “I'm so sorry, Y/N. I don't know what has gotten into me.”
“It's alright. I'm okay. I just really hope this isn't too bad of a wound.” You pause with a wince when he begins to wrap your shoulder. “My crow told me we have a mission with Kyojuro.” He pauses his movements.
“All of us?”
“Yeah. So that you can figure out more about your fire, or whatever breathing you have.” Your response comes out shaky and he tries to stay completely focused. But even so, his mind drifted. He wondered what that was going to be like, watching the two of you actually interact for the first time. He was gone when he found out about your relationship status. In a couple of days, he was going watch someone he is in love with act like an engaged couple to someone else.
He had to take a deep shaky breath as he finished wrapping the wound. “Alright. I finished, does it feel alright?”
Your head falls forward onto his shoulder and he blushes slightly. “Yeah. Feels fine. Thank you.”
His eyes soften and he feels tears begin to form. “Don't cry. I am fine. Just tired,” You mumble into his neck and he wraps his arms around you and does cry softly. His body softly trembles and he feels you use your good arm to wrap his back, trying to soothe him.
The two of you are asleep in one another's arms by the time Inosuke and Zenitsu found you.
Tanjiro hates that he likes Rengoku. He hates that he idolizes him, and looks up to him. He hates that he wants to be like him.
It would be so much easier to hate him. It wouldn't hurt as much.
He watches every interaction between the two of you. Watches the way you giggle as you feed him bento boxes, the way you stick so closely to him, the way you look at him like he is the only person in the room. The way Tanjiro looks at you.
The worst of it though had to be when you needed help. You always used to turn to him, trusting him completely to stop the demon. He didn't need you to be strong, he knew you didn't want to be, he just needed you there. But now, he watches you grip the flame Hashira kimono with wide, fearful, eyes. He could barely stand it, so Zenitsu pulls him away.
He listened to you when you babbled on in his lap about wedding plans. Cringing and having to excuse himself when he saw the way the two of you looked so fondly of one another, the way he kissed you so gently. What Tanjiro has been thinking about since the first day he met you.
You teased Rengoku, the way you used to tease him, but unlike himself, Rengoku knew what to say to make you blush in return.
Envy. He has never felt this until he met the flame Hashira.
Everything that Tanjiro wanted, Rengoku had. The strength, the charisma, the kindness, the technique, and now you. He had wanted to be Rengoku.
The thoughts clouded his mind until the Harishira took his last breath.
You screamed, you sobbed into the bloody body that was never coming back and Tanjiro watched feeling his own tears drip down his face. Heard his own yelling fall from his mouth.
When he heard the soft final speech come out of his mouth, guilt once again pulled at him. This entire time Tanjiro has been lusting after his lover, and still until the end he was kind. He must have known, because when Rengoku whispered, “Take care of her for me. She loves you, you know.” in his ear, the flame Hashira still smiled.
He watches him lean closer and whisper something into your ear. Tears fell and you gripped onto him, how desperately he wants to know what he said to you. But how could he ever ask?
He watches you kiss one last time, and he didn't feel angry, jealous, or hurt, he felt dread. He realized at this point that he would rather watch you get married thousands of times to different men if you didn't have to experience this pain.
But what could he do to stop it? He can't save someone who is already dead.
You became a shell of a person. He understood, he had gone through it. He was patient. They all were.
You didn't speak for the first month. He began to get worried. You would stare far off into the distance, for long periods of time. You didn't eat. He basically had to beg you every meal.
The only time you spoke was when you visited Rengoku's brother and father. You were kind and gentle to the boy and he adored you, even in your broken state. You had that effect on people.
He watched you carefully. He made sure you didn't leave his sight for too long, your scent was so distressed, he didn't know what you would do. Nezuko could sense it too, tears would fall from her eyes when she buried her face into your stomach and chest.
Inosuke was quieter, also grieving, and Zenitsu would refrain from making lustful jokes about you. It was strange, all of it.
The five of you are staying at the butterfly mansion to heal. You lay in bed, way too early to be asleep and Tanjiro comes in bringing a plate full of food. “Afternoon, Y/N. How are you feeling?” He asks softly and you turn toward him with a small, hurt smile.
“I'm okay,” The same answer as usual. He was fine with this answer, some days you would say, “I don't know”. Those were the roughest, the days you wouldn't eat for hours, where you didn't leave the bed. So, he was grateful for “okay”.
“I brought you food. Udon. Zenitsu bought it from the store nearby. It's really good. I think you'll like it.” You stare at the food for a long period of time in silence. “Please eat. For me?”
“Okay.”
He sighs and sits down in front of your body. “Thank you. I'll leave it here, alright?” He pauses to wait for a response. A slight nod. “Okay, great. I'll see you tomorrow, Y/N. Sleep well.”
He stands up, but your soft voice makes him turn around. “Tanjiro, do you want to hear what Kyojuro's last words were to me?” He did, desperately.
“If you are comfortable sharing with me.”
You go quiet for a long time, and Tanjiro thinks that you changed your mind. “You don't have to share, Y/N.”
You shake your head. “He told me that you were in love with me.” It's so quiet that he can barely hear it. His shoulders drop and his eyes widen. He stares unable to move, your glazed eyes keep him pinned. “He told me that I should marry you instead.”
He gulps. Thoughts flood his brain and he opens his mouth to speak, but he can't. He doesn't know what to do. The only thing he could manage to get out was, “W-Why?”
You turn around, staring at the ceiling instead. “You are kind. You can protect me. You are strong. I know why he said it Tanjiro, you are the best option for me.”
His world seems to flip. For months he internally begged for those words to come out, but now he doesn't know what to do. “Is this what you want?” If you are only going to try because Rengoku said so, he would still be happy honestly, but he doesn't want you to suffer.
Silence again. “I don't know. I love him Tanjiro, you know I do.” He ignores the pain in his heart. You turn toward him. “I want to try. I think he is right. I'll be yours. If you'll have me, of course.”
He stumbles forward, and kneels down next to your cot, before grabbing one of your hands. He leans forward in a bow, forehead touching the back of your hand. “I’ll have you. I promise to protect you with my life, Y/N. I won't make that mistake again. I won’t let you get hurt.”
You smile at him and use your other hand to pat his head. You let out a small laugh, and Tanjiro looks up hopeful. This was your first laugh since his passing. “I'm not completely useless Tanjiro, y'know I am a demon slayer.” And you were teasing him. This had to be a good sign.
He nods his head. “Yeah of course! I was just saying, just in case.”
“I know. But Tanjiro…” You drop your hand and he hums, waiting patiently on the floor next to you. “I want to go slow. I just don't think I am going to be in the right headspace for a while. I'm sorry.”
“Of course! I understand completely! Don't feel sorry Y/N, I am willing to wait years if I have to.” You smile softly at him and he presses a soft kiss to your hand before standing up. “Okay, enjoy your meal Y/N! I will be in my room, call me if you need anything.”
When he walks out of the room, he is blushing like a maniac. He walks to his room with wobbly legs, not believing this is real. He knows he shouldn't be thinking like this, especially because you are still so hurt over Rengoku, but he can't help it. He has been waiting for this.
He vows to treat you as well, or maybe even better than the flame Hashira, for Rengoku's last request. And maybe for his own personal needs as well.
You were right, it was a slow process. You guys have been “dating” for a month and there has not been much progress. The two of you haven't even kissed yet.
He wasn't upset about it. If Tanjiro was anything, he was a patient man.
What was more important was your mourning process. He has been with you every single day, on the days that are easier he talks to you about it, and on the days that are harder, he holds you. He tells you how he misses the man too, and he hopes it makes you feel less alone.
He doesn't stop his missions, making one or two-day trips with Zenitsu and Inosuke, leaving Nezuko with you just in case. She provides you with comfort, whenever he comes home late he always finds the two of you curling up next to you.
After a month, you have been leaving the house to go outside. The first time he sees you in broad daylight, he smiles so wide, that you were forced to smile back. “How are you? Are you feeling alright?” He presses and you hold onto his hand. Another thing that the two of you were allowed to do. He loves it.
“I'm doing good.” Not just okay. Good. After two months of grieving, you are beginning to recover. He was unbelievably grateful.
You began to get back into training, with Tanjiro guiding you. You began to eat more and sleep less. You began to laugh and smile again.
And the two of you were doing perfect. He almost passes out the first time you sit on his lap mid-conversation with Inosuke. The boar left the room immediately and you lean your head on Tanjiro's chest and gaze up at him. “Can you sleep next to me tonight? I feel so alone.”
He blushes. “Yeah, of course! Do you want to ask anyone else too?”
“Just you.” He goes silent, wrapping his arms around your frame, and nods. His face is burning up, but by god, he is so unbelievably happy.
That night was the first night you kissed him. It was soft, just a small goodnight peck, but even so, Tanjiro brought his fingers to his lips in pure awe.
He lays in a cot next to yours and stares. He can't help it. He is in awe of the whole situation. He never thought that this would truly happen. He thought this fantasy would remain in his dreams.
But of course, not everything is sunshine and rainbows.
He wakes up in the middle of the night to hear your sobs. Your eyes were closed. You were having a nightmare. “Don't go. Please don't go.” He hears you mumble. He quickly shakes you awake, and your eyes fly open in fear.
This was when everything all began. Maybe if he stopped it earlier it wouldn't have progressed. But how could he if this is what you needed?
You cling onto him, sobbing into his neck. “Kyojuro. Oh, Kyojuro, you're here, you're here. Kyojuro!”
He freezes in place. Were you still dreaming? “No, Y/N, it's Tanjiro,” He says softly near your ear.
The sobs don't stop. You shake your head. “I missed you! How could you leave me all alone!”
He gulps, closing his eyes, as you tremble on him. He hates seeing you like this. You must be dreaming, so he should do what he promised to do. Protect you. “I'm here. I know, I know. I'm sorry Y/N, I didn't mean to leave you. Shhh. You're safe, I'm not going anywhere.”
“Oh, Kyojuro. Kyojuro.” As each name falls from your lips he feels his heart getting stabbed. He holds you tightly, rocking your body back and forth hopefully lulling you to sleep. He can't take much more of it, especially since he thought things were going so well.
You do fall asleep, still clinging on to him and the second he senses your rhythmic breathing he lets the tears fall into the night.
He expected you to have another one of those days when you woke up. The days when you don't leave the bed. But it was quite the opposite, you seemed to be more ecstatic than you were in days. Training with Inosuke, teasing Zenitsu, and hanging off of himself.
Maybe what he did was right. It helped put you to sleep, now you are well rested. It helps with recovery.
“Kyojuro!” Everyone freezes when they hear your calling. You are running toward him back from training, as he sits on the steps of your porch. He stares at you with a blank face when you approach him, slightly panting from the run. You quickly kiss his cheek, and grin at him. He touches the spot with his hand, completely shocked. You have never done that to him. “Tanjiro, why didn't you respond to my call? I know you could hear me!”
He must have heard you wrong. He was thinking about last night too much and it got his mind all strange. “Oh! Sorry, I was a little distracted. What's up, Y/N.”
“Just wanted to say hi to my fiance.” His eyes go wide and he blushes. He grabs the back of his neck nervously.
“O-Oh. Fiance? I assumed we were just….dating.” Of course, he has daydreamed about being your fiance the second you asked to try being in a relationship with him, but he assumed not due to you wanting to take it slow.
You cock your head to the side. “Of course, we are not dating. Do you…not want to be engaged to me anymore?” Your tone drops and he quickly stands up.
He shakes his hands in front of his face. “No! I love being engaged to you!” And just like that, your smile is back. He heaves a sigh of relief and smiles in return.
You pull him down to sit next to you on the steps and cling to his arm. He blushes profusely, due to your proximity, but tries not to squirm. “So, tell me about your flame breathing.”
He furrows his eyebrows and looks down at you. “You mean the discovery of my sun breathing?”
You blink at him and then laugh. “Oh yeah! Silly me, tell me about it.”
He blacks out talking to you about it, the whole time thinking about last night, what he had heard today, and now this. Was he going insane? Was his own jealousy of Rengoku causing this? He doesn't know and doesn't understand it.
But, honestly, he doesn't mind it. Even if he may be going a little crazy, he now has you, and that's all that matters.
Every night you seem to have that dream. You always wake up, cling onto him, and call him “Kyojuro”. He learns quickly that if he plays into the role it makes it end quicker. Besides, he enjoys having your warmth around, and in these moments you finally kiss him. For real, not a peck on the mouth or cheek.
Of course, he has kissed you for real, with you calling him by his real name, but in these moments he swears it's more passionate. Desperate even. He knows what he is doing is wrong and every morning he feels guilty for it, but he can't seem to stop. He loves the fact that he is not the only desperate one in the relationship.
He had tried once, truly. But when he kept denying his identity you would get angry. You would throw anything near you in your half-sleep state and threaten him. The only way to calm you down was to reassure you that he was Kyojuro, and he will always be with you. He never tried to deny you again.
But he was fine with it, in the morning you had no memory of it. Plus, you only accidentally call him that a couple of times. And you always end up calling him “Tanjiro” the next time. So really, it's fine.
You are currently in between one of your missions, and you guys were resting for the night. The last mission had gone well, in fact, you did what he missed so much. You clung to his kimono when a particular demon scared you. It was adorable, and just what he needed to end the creature in a heartbeat.
Now, Tanjiro lays his head in your lap, with his eyes closed and a small smile on his face. You are playing with his hair gently. “I think you should grow your hair out, Tanjiro.”
He opens his eyes and smiles. He pretends it's simply because you like long hair on men, not because of Rengokus' hair. “Hmm? You think so?”
“Yeah. You have such nice hair, Kyo”
He doesn't even flinch now. “It's Tanjiro, Y/N.”
“Hm? Yeah, I know, that's what I said,” You respond with a furrowed brow. He sighs, and nods, knowing best not to argue.
But he doesn't mind it that much. You know who he is really, and that's all that matters.
A couple of weeks go by and it's gotten worse. You call him by Rengoku's first name more than his real name. Now, everyone seems to notice. You guys can't go anywhere without causing some confusion with someone. He tells them his name is Tanjiro and you call him Kyojuro. It's bound to cause confusion.
He brushes it off. Besides being called by Rengoku's first name is a compliment.
Zenitsu and Inosuke have been getting upset at you. You don't understand why. He always saves you from the interrogation from his friends. He is protecting you like he promised both you and Rengoku.
After all of this, the only thing that actually upsets him now is when you call Nezuko, Senjuro. Rengoku's younger brother's name. That was the first fight the two of you had. You denied and denied that you called her that, but he knows you did. He heard the sad growl that slipped from her muzzle.
The two of you ignored one another until you had that dream. Like usual he lets you latch onto him and call him Kyojuro all you want. He kisses you deeply in the night.
You don't call her that as much.
But Tanjiro was fine. He didn't mind it. He had you, and that's all that matters.
“Kyojuro!” You call from across the meadow. A pit stop from your next mission.
He puts on his role in less than a heartbeat. He was so accustomed to it, it was like second nature to respond to Kyojuro, almost as if it was a nickname.
“I'm right here, Y/N!” He yells in response, a grin on his face. You come sprinting over and you jump on him. He twirls you around in a hug and the two of you laugh, foreheads pressed together.
“I love you, Tanjiro,” You murmur. The first time you have called him by his real name in days.
His cheeks flush and he smiles. “I love you too, Y/N. My beautiful wife,” He responds, before pressing his lips onto yours.
You called him his real name in the moments that matter. That's all he needed.
Besides, he was happy. He has what he wanted for so long, you. He would be your ex-fiance for you, the stars or the sun if you wished him to be. He would be whoever you want him to be, as long as you're here with him.
