“If you want to awaken all of humanity, then awaken all of yourself. If you want to eliminate the suffering in the world, then eliminate all that is dark and negative in yourself. Truly, the greatest gift you have to give is that of your own self-transformation.”
— Lao Tzu
Puja arrangements make me so happy because THE TEXTURE, THE COLOUR CONTRAST, THE OVERLY SPECIFIC SYMBOLISM, THE SLIGHTLY OBSESSIVE ALIGNMENT JUST WOW.
Plus red-yellow-orange kicks ass

On the subject of Manipur, there is a reference to the state as far back as the Mahabharata. Chitrangada is a princess of Manipur who marries Arjuna. In most accounts she is a warrior princess, probably from a matrilineal society, who does not accompany Arjuna back to Indraprastha after his years of exile.
Representations of Chitrangada in art: 1. By Pobsant Roockarangsarith (X); 2) Ramendranath Chakravorty’s 1941 woodcut of Chitrangada and Arjuna and 3) Avik Chakraborty’s Royal Ladies of Mahabharata: Chitrangada.
I love these mosaic tiles. They're essentially cheaper as they're made out of leftover waste from other random tiles but the way they fit and their little cracks and prints look like a piece of art.
They also make a place look lively and colourful and a little messy in a very adorable way.
Yeah I wish I could find out the origins of these.
