A Massive Database of Evidence, Compiled by a Historian, Documents Israel's War Crimes in Gaza

The report Dr. Mordechai has compiled online – "Bearing Witness to the Israel-Gaza War" – constitutes the most methodical and detailed documentation in Hebrew (there is also an English translation) of the war crimes that Israel is perpetrating in Gaza. It is a shocking indictment comprised of thousands of entries relating to the war, to the actions of the government, the media, the Israel Defense Forces and Israeli society in general. The English translation of the seventh, and to date latest version of the text, is 124 pages long and contains over 1,400 footnotes referencing thousands of sources, including eyewitness reports, video footage, investigatory materials, articles and photographs. For example, there are links to texts and other kinds of testimony describing acts attributed to IDF soldiers who were seen "shooting civilians waving white flags, abuse of individuals, captives and corpses, gleefully damaging or destroying houses, various structures and institutions, religious sites and looting personal belongings, as well as randomly firing their weapons, shooting local animals, destroying private property, burning books within libraries, defacing Palestinian and Islamic symbols (including burning Qurans and turning mosques into dining spaces)."

[...]

"I wrote this so that in another half-year or in 100 years, people will go back and see that this is what it was possible to know, as early as January, and that those among us who didn't know, chose not to know."

Hello everyone, I have an update to make.

Donate to HELP AMIR GET BACK TO WALKING ! DONATE TODAY!, organized by mohammed shamallakh
gofundme.com
Hi, I am Sarah. 1. Who is Sarah? Sarah is the mother of the chi… mohammed shamallakh needs your support for HELP AMIR GET BACK TO WALKI

Sarah's son Amir was born with a condition which makes it difficult for him to move. In order to treat this, he used to receive regular physical therapy, a special diet of ground food, and special medicine; however, since last October, he has been unable to access these necessities of his life.

This has caused his condition to deteriorate. Along with these horrors, he and his family suffers like every other Palestinian in Ghazza; in a dirty tent without basic human resources.

In order for Amir and his family to evacuate and for him to continue his treatment, they need to raise €35,000. Since my last post about this campaign, they've only managed to raise €1,961; an obvious improvement from their previous number of 0, but still not nearly enough.

Amir needs this treatment to live. Please donate if you can and share this campaign so he and his family can survive.

The First Palestinian Athlete To Participate In The Olympic Games Died On Wednesday At The Nuseirat Refugee

The first Palestinian athlete to participate in the Olympic games died on Wednesday at the Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza as a result of kidney failure due to power outages and medical shortages as a result of the ongoing Israeli war and siege of the enclave.

Majed Abu Maraheel, who passed away at the age of 61, became the first athlete to be the flag bearer and represent Palestinians at the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996. Being a distance runner, he competed in the 10km race.

Since his breakthrough on the world stage, more than 20 Palestinian men and women have been able to compete at Olympic competitions.

"He was a Palestinian icon, and he will remain as such," his brother told Paltoday TV after the funeral.

"We tried to evacuate him to Egypt but then the Rafah crossing was closed (by Israel), and his condition kept deteriorating."

In his preparation for the Olympics, Abu Maraheel would often be seen on his daily runs from his home in Gaza to the Erez Crossing with Israel, which Israel closed in October after imposing a full blockade on the Strip.

Last month, it was reopened for the first time since then.

He would often have to pass through that crossing for his job as a day labourer in Israel. After participating in the Olympics, Abu Maraheel went on to become a coach for other Palestinian runners hoping to replicate his presence at the international competition.

Abu Maraheel's death highlights the grim fate of many Palestinians who are facing kidney failure in Gaza.

A report from the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor in March found that there were between 1,000 to 1,500 patients in Gaza with kidney failure, and that they are facing a "slow death" because of "a lack of medical and therapeutic services, medications and other necessities".

Israel denies blocking humanitarian aid into Gaza, though aid agencies say they are not able to get aid in because of Israeli restrictions.
