9. Eastern Bluebird (Sialia sialis)
The Bluebird is probably my favorite bird to regularly photograph. In fact, seeing them around my house was part of what inspired me to get into bird photography in the first place! They just so obviously know that they're beautiful and are always positioning themselves to be seen by everyone. I swear, this one was striking a pose for me!

7. Carolina Wren (Thryothorus ludovicianus)
The Carolina Wren has recently become a favorite of mine. They have such an immediately recognizable song that will never fail to get me to look out the closest window when I hear it. Today, one even decided to take a seat in one of my plant pots for a bit, I wonder if she's looking for a place to nest!

4. Snowy Egret (Egretta thula)
Sometimes I think that Herons and Egrets are just nasty little freaks that hang out in smelly mud all day, but then I see them also give off such a beauty that really shines through the brown and green marshes.
I particularly like this photo, it feels so elegant, clean, and magical. Trust me I say that it smelled like a million eggy farts

6. Brown Thrasher (Toxostoma rufum)
The Brown Thrasher is the state bird of Georgia (my home state), so it felt special to photograph them in nature. They're really beautiful actually, there's something about their warm brown feathers in the sunlight that makes me happy. They also have these piercing yellow eyes that really stand out.
If you didn't know, there's a few professional sports teams in Georgia named after birds: the Atlanta Hawks, the Atlanta Falcons, and of course the Atlanta Thrashers. Growing up, I always assumed a Thrasher was an equally large and badass bird of prey.
In reality, they're small and cute and I want to hold them :)
