hi! came here from the Carolina wren post, if they nest in the flower pot like you said, will you update us? thanx! :D
Definitely will update if they do! They actually nested in a different pot on our patio a few years ago so I’m hoping they do the same again :)

7. Carolina Wren (Thryothorus ludovicianus)
The Carolina Wren has recently become a favorite of mine. They have such an immediately recognizable song that will never fail to get me to look out the closest window when I hear it. Today, one even decided to take a seat in one of my plant pots for a bit, I wonder if she's looking for a place to nest!

10. American Pekin (Domestic Duck)
Spring has sprung and that means I'm spending a lot more time sitting by a lake and watching ducks. It's a nice reminder that sometimes you just gotta let the water roll off your back and rest in the sun.
I just adore the vibes these guys bring, I can't be sad when I'm around ducks. They're truly nature's equivalent of just being a silly little guy

5. Little Blue Heron (Egretta caerulea)
I've since gotten better at immediately identifying Herons and Egrets, but when I first got interested in bird photography, I would often get really frustrated when trying to find the difference between them
My mind still sometimes to struggle to grasp the fact that these are the same animal

8. Osprey (Pandion haliaetus)
Most times I look up and see a large bird flying, I assume it's either: a.) a Vulture b.) a Seagull Recently, I've been able to see that a large amount of these giants birds I see flying around water are actually Osprey! However, I prefer their cooler name: The Seahawk.
These guys are basically bad-ass versions of seagulls, and it's sick. I love their white feathers! They also have a HUGE wingspan. Easily one of my new favorite birds to see around!
There's even a couple of protected nests near me, so I might update from time to time. Here's the most recent photo I've taken, which I assume is an angry momma waiting for her husband to bring home dinner.

4. Snowy Egret (Egretta thula)
Sometimes I think that Herons and Egrets are just nasty little freaks that hang out in smelly mud all day, but then I see them also give off such a beauty that really shines through the brown and green marshes.
I particularly like this photo, it feels so elegant, clean, and magical. Trust me I say that it smelled like a million eggy farts
