Villain leaned beside a sliding glass door. “You never told me you were leaving,” they said as Hero walked out, a long plate in hand.
The plate was tossed in the air, along with all the skewers used for kabobs. “Vil-Villain?”
“That’s my name. Don’t wear it out.”
“What are you- why are you here?”
Rolling their eyes, Villain pushed off the side of the house, bending down to pick the plate, which Hero so shockingly tossed, up. “Heard there was a cookout in town- figured I’d check it out. You feel like making a medium-rare steak for me? I’m not much of a burger or hotdog person.”
“You’re not supposed to be here,” Hero declared, hands shaking like a teacup chihuahua.
“Yeah?” Villain stuck the plate out, offering it to Hero. “You weren’t supposed to just…up and leave without a word. I thought we were closer than that.” As Hero clutched the plate, Villain bent down to pick up one of the skewers. “Guess I was wrong.”
Because I just had surgery and I can.
Villain hasnt been seen for a week. Thinking they are planning something big, the hero tracks them down only to find them recovering from a surgery they had to get as a result of an injury the hero inflicted on them.
Hero/Villain is in hospital recovering from surgery when they receive a "get well soon" card and a gift from the villain/hero.
Hero goes under for surgery. Unbeknownst to either of them, the villain ends up being the surgeon and only realizes when they see all of heros scars while prepping for the surgery.
Hero just had surgery for something and instead of resting is pushing themselves to get back go wor. Villain finds out and flips, ordering them back to bed where they take care of them.
*Forgot to post this from back right after my surgery but*
Hallo! Could I get some fluff where Hero wakes up in Villain's arms, but doesn't realise immediatly and cuddles, while Villain is VERY confused but not against it? +Very proud of your recent follower gain! Great job, but never feel pressured to overwork yourself on this blog.
Thank you so much! I'm very happy with how things are going with my blog too, and don't worry I know overworking leads to burn out, so I always make sure to pace myself and take breaks when need be!
[Hero] slowly started fading into consciousness, but their body still felt heavy and fuzzy around the edges. They ached from last night's battle, but none of that mattered because of the warm embrace they felt around them.
Countless times [Hero] had awoken from their restless nights all alone and in pain. Having to drag their bruised and bloody body out of bed and into the shower to lick their wounds and take care of themselves. But this morning, they weren't alone. They weren't sure why, but they were sure they were going to enjoy this for every second they could.
[Villain] braced themselves for a fight as [Hero] began to stir but their body completely froze as [Hero] snuggled into their chest and arms, smiling. [Villain]'s heart and mind raced with possibilities and implications.
Did [Hero] know it was them? If they didn't, is this ok? If they did... did they like them the same way [Villain] liked [Hero]? Maybe they were hit by a love potion or mind control device. Do they have a head injury?
[Villain] felt their head go light and heart soar as [Hero] smiled and curled more into them.
i am this close to writing a book with the “hero gets betrayed countless times by the people they risk everything for and that one last blow just does it for them and they end up at villain's house, and villain says ‘they betrayed you, didn't they’ and hero just nods and after a few minutes of silence hero goes ‘i want revenge on them, all of them. not a petty, useless one; i want flames, i want war.’ and the villain who has been waiting for this the whole damn book goes ‘well then, my darling, then set it all on fire.’ ” trope
not a prompt, may actually write this but i can write something similar to this particular scene/trope
"Did you ever truly love me?" Villain asked in a chocked, broken voice as tears blurred his vision.
Villain saw raw sadness and guilt flicker into hero's beautiful features, twisting them up so her expressions were fully transparent. In that moment, villain felt fleeting hope that the two of us could love again, that we could be the lovers that she always wanted them to be.
But hero's face turned into a blank slate as soon as villain's hopes got up, turning devoid of the love that she once showed villain.
"No, villain" she whispered, turning her back to hero. "I never did. "

“You do everything for Hero, don’t you?” Villain patronized them, an unsettling grin rising on their face. Hero’s sidekick felt adrenaline course through them, already not liking the turn the conversation had taken. They kept silent, adamant not to give Villain the attention they so clearly wanted.
“You’re their soldier. You do anything and everything for Hero- you live and breathe for them.” Villain continued. Sidekick bit the inside of their cheek hard, restraining themselves from rising to the bait.
“If only they knew, how you feel about them.” Villain mocked, a deceivingly sympathetic expression on their face. Sidekick gulped, clenching their shaking fists.
“You know, Hero cares about me far more than they ever cared about you.” Villain continued. Sidekick rubbed their face, feeling the familiar burn of tears lingering at the back of their eyes. “You’ll never have a chance with them, and you know it.” Sidekick immediately felt what little self-preservation they had left disappear, and they launched themselves at Villain in a rage.
“Shut up. Just shut up!” Sidekick screamed, fists flying at Villain before they could even register what they were doing. Villain fell to the ground, but Sidekick didn’t care. They didn’t think, just punched and punched and punched-
“Sidekick?”
Sidekick froze, their fist only a couple inches from Villain’s beaten and bloody face. They turned around, heart pounding, and they met Hero’s shocked eyes. They glanced at Hero, at Villain’s barely conscious form behind them, and tried to come up with an explanation. Sidekick tried to talk but their mouth felt sewn shut. Their lips wouldn’t move, and all they could hear was the sharp ringing sound reverberating in their ears.
“Sidekick, what have you done?” Hero’s eyes were blown wide, a frightful expression on their face.
“No, wait, Hero, I-” Sidekick tried to justify, walking up to Hero and looking up at them.
“I don’t want to hear it.” Hero said with an icy tone, shoving them aside and walking over to Villain. Sidekick reeled back, the disappointment in Hero’s voice hurting more than any punch or blow could. They watched as Hero knelt down and touched Villain’s cheek in an intimate gesture that made Sidekick feel sick to their stomach. Villain was right. Shaking their head, Sidekick turned around and bolted, tears blurring their vision as their shoes slapped against the pavement.
Rival had that glint in his eyes, she noticed, the one he recently has when they play.
"Things don't look too well for you, don't they?"
The perfect, still, poker-face Heroine mastered kept away any information he tried to get.
"That is what you have said last time."
He frowned a bit, but his eyes kept their shine.
"So you do have a plan..."
"Hopefully."
"Then I shouldn't eat your knight..."
"If you doing this is in my plan."
Rival leaned in and squinted at her. Sometimes, just sometimes, he was too dangerously cute. Heroine hated to admit that to herself, but the way her lips urged to smile at his sight left no doubt.
"So you DO want me to do this...!"
"You can try to interogate me all day, or actually think for yourself."
Hero almost let out a chuckle as she answered. He pouted again, adding a frown and a crooked nose. She finally let out a laugh, dropping her straight face.
"You're a pleasure to play with..."
Rival was quite for a moment, his smile was... It has never been that soft. God her heart beat so fast.
"I can say the same for you."
He blushed a little and looked away. Scratching his scalp, Heroine used the distraction to take mental notes.
He brushed his hair, which she doesn't remember him doing in any other day they met. A warmth grew in her as she hoped that she read the signs right. His clothes were nicer, too. He replaced the usual seeatshirt and sweatpants with a polo shirt and jeans. The shirt's sleeves were shorter, which was nice and...
He has a scar. Right at the back of his forearm, barely noticeable.
"That's it. I'm not eating that. It reeks with a scheme."
Hero knows that scar. And she knows that man. Villain grinned at her.
"Knew this was your plan. Scared now?"
She immediately returned her poker face.
"Plans change."
She played her move quickly and quietly. Villain took some time but made finished his turn.
"I'm gonna win this time, I can feel it."
Hero didn't respond or banter back. She didn't say anything for the next few turns, no matter what he tried to do to tease or make her laugh. He grew more worried each turn.
"Hey ummm..."
She needs to finish this and think of the next step. This was her chance to catch him once and for all.
"You good?"
Looking up, she noticed his worried expression. It was completely geniune when she smiled and reassured him.
"Yes, just got lost in thoughts for a bit."
He smiled back.
"I actually had something weighing on me too, mind if...?"
"Go ahead."
He took a big breath. That moment, she knew what was about to happen. What she wished one of them will be brave enough for. She wished for this ever since they first played her. Ever since he truly challenged her. Ever since he took his loss with a laugh and adoring eyes.
"I know we only ever meet here to play, and that I have annoying jokes and... And an annoying self..."
Even the dread she felt didn't stop her from chuckling.
"But I like... I don't know... This. Playing wit- Even when you win. So you I thought..."
The fact that she knew of his identity didn't stop the butterflies she felt. Making her wish he was who she sees now. Just a softhearted, clever guy she met at an urban chess.
"We could go get ice cream aft-, or something less childis- I mean... Well you-"
This is her chance. Even if not for love. She showed him the best smile she could master.
"How about coffee tomorrow? I know a perfect place."
A coffee shop 50 meters away from a police station. It will be easy.
He smiled shyly and let out of all the air he held in his lungs.
"Sounds perfect..."
His blushed and relieved face turned her stomach. Imagining how he'd look at her tomorrow, when he'll realize who she really is.
But now Heroine must forget about it. She'll smile and laugh and be happy, genuinely happy, that they like each other.
They were chess partners, and she can't allow him to guess her next move.
Villain was especially slow today. They had been off for the entirety of the week, but today it was like fighting a different person.
"Say," Hero asked in between punches. "Is something wrong?"
"Huh? Since when do you care?" Villain scoffed and landed a punch on Hero's jaw. They barely felt it.
Hero retaliated by punching Villain's gut, which caused them to grunt and double over in pain. Hero swore they hadn't hit them that hard.
They slowly approached their enemy, trying to look as nonthreatening as possible. Villain hated the pity in their eyes.
"Stay away from me." They growled and attacked Hero once more. This time, Hero didn't fight back.
Instead, they wrapped their arms around their nemesis, preventing them from moving. Even that small amount of pressure earned them a pained hiss.
"I didn't hurt you that bad." Hero stated. "Who did this to you?"
"That's none of your business-"
"Tell me." They demanded.
Villain sighed. "Supervillain."
"Your boss? I thought you guys were a team?" Hero questioned.
"A team?" Villain chuckled. "We're villains, Hero. As soon as I stop being useful, the alliance is over. Considering how many times I've lost to you this week, I'm lucky to be alive."
Hero felt their stomach twist. This was partially their fault. They knew they had just been doing their job, but they still felt responsible.
"You're coming with me." It wasn't a question.
"No way." Villain struggled against Hero's arms. "I don't need your pity nor your help."
"As a hero, it's my job to take care of those in need." Hero declared as they scooped them up into a bridal carry. "That includes you, whether you like it or not."
"I don't like it." Villain sulked.
"I know."
