Ooh I really like the idea of placing your writing day at the end of the week so you always have something to look forward to, that’s such a sweet ritual :)

I’ve been wanting to try out flash fiction Friday’s as well so maybe I’ll give that a shot!

summary:

Izuku didn't get into U.A. and Katsuki did and that was supposed to be the end of it. But a chance encounter at the convenience store reminds Izuku just how much their relationship hasn't actually ended. Even if their new normal isn't exactly...normal. And not exactly new, either, since not a year has gone by since they were four in which Izuku and Kacchan were not, somehow, together.

i came across the phrase 'what we call writer's block is almost always ordinary fear' in a writing textbook once and it seriously changed how i approach writer's block though. usually im able to recognize my hesitation to write as a fear that whatever i write will inevitably turn out bad, so i focus on trying to shift my mindset so that i can get words on the page first and make them sound good later

when its a lack of inspiration though, it helps to read other things, watch shows/movies, listen to music, look at art, etc or even just write a poem or smth short and irrelevant to the project im trying to work on before going back to it

I feel like my writer’s block just comes and goes randomly and it’s really not helping me fight the urge to procrastinate lol

I like to think that teacher!Izuku has an apartment near campus where all of his Pro Hero friends sporadically drop by, sometimes bloody, sometimes with coffee, sometimes through the window cause they felt like it, and they look over Izuku’s shoulder while he grades and give running commentary or listen as Izuku describes the quirks/attitudes of his students or vents his frustration about them. All of the more consistent visitors have their own mug in his cup cabinet. Katsuki has two bc he’s a sore loser and doesn’t like to be outshined. Everyone thinks the Dynamight mug is his but actually that’s Izuku’s.

One time Denki comes in through the window at 2am like a drunk elephant, horrifically tangled in Shinso’s capture weapon (he was messing around with it and couldn’t figure out how to get free, ended up making it worse) and Izuku, startled and still half-asleep, throws a pen at him because it’s the first thing he sees and they’re both so embarrassed about the whole thing they swear each other to secrecy.

i love thinking about bakugo getting hit with a time travel quirk and his symbolic nightmares become a very tangible and chaotic new reality. sth sth learning how to move on as a better person without letting your past and shame control you, even if it's gonna follow you for the rest of your life in one way or another.

i don't think bakugo should atone repeatedly for his childhood sins, but i also don't really agree with the sentiment that their childhood wouldn't affect their adulthood. i think a lot of their little habits (the good and the bad) were formed during their childhood and as a result of their friendship and falling out, i think sometimes that catches them off-guard in their adulthood and leads to unexpected situations that require them to manage their emotions well so it doesn't end in unjust accusations and yeah.
