There is just something about Taylor Swift’s ‘Invisible String’ that makes me want to dance in the sunlight with ribbons and I absolutely adore it.

If you find that person
Who doesn’t tell you what the right thing is to wear, is always happy to take you anywhere
Who doesn’t take their lows out on you remorselessly, and doesn’t take all of your lows so damn personally
If you find that person
Who can put up with all your crap, can always see right through and know you’re more than that
Doesn’t try to change you, force you to fit their mould
That’s something you should pursue, watch it turn to gold
And it will, I’m certain,
If you find that one person
Who will ask you how you’re doing, has nothing to prove and will hold your hand whenever they can see a storm brewing
Encourage, motivate, feed you when you’re tired and it’s late
Maybe love will be great
But that’s only if you find that person
All day long there has haunted me
A spectre out of my lost youth-land.
Because I happened last night to see
A woman's beautiful snow-white hand
- Ella Wheeler Wilcox
the inherent romanticism of being thought of.
these violent delights have violent ends, and in their triumph die; like fire and powder, which, as they kiss, consume.
— William Shakespeare, Romeo & Juliet.
there is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
there is a rapture on the lonely shore,
there is society where none intrudes,
by the deep Sea, and music in its roar:
i love not Man the less, but Nature more.
— childe harold's pilgrimage, lord byron.
The Diary of Anaïs Nin, 1944–1947
Do not entertain a man just because you are bored. Do not entertain a man just because you crave validation. Do not entertain a man just because you are lonely. Do not entertain a man just because you don't see better options at the time.
Only entertain men that you intentionally and mindfully want to know better, to spend time with, to allow space for in your life. Your energy is so incredibly precious, ladies. So powerful and potent, capable of creating anything. Don't throw it left and right because you're afraid of confronting your emptiness.
If you feel like you’ve seen this alread, that’s normal. This list of recommendation has been previously posted on my first account @praestantias which has been deleted for some reasons. So here I am, reposting it.
Hating how elitist and eurocentric the dark academia community became, I would truly appreciate that you leave some recommendation of book written by people of color, for I noticed that I am guilty of the eurocentric part, but I am really want to educate myself and read more non-white books.
Thank you for your suggestions!
Maybe if I hadn’t been so afraid of rejection I could’ve shown you how much love I had in store.

Repeat after me:
I am the woman of my own dreams. I require no validation. My wish is my command. My life is my own, I build it. My voice is my own, I let it be heard. I am relentless in my dedication to trusting myself. I am insatiable in my thirst for the extraordinary, and I do not settle for the mediocre.
