Can someone explain the Ohio memes?
For the record anybody who asks where I’m going to university is not going to get an answer until after I graduate
For someone who spends hours convincing herself that she isn't traumatized I sure do have quite a few traumatic experiences
thinking about how in why we build the wall from hadestown, the workers under influence, or rather as extensions of hades, one hive mind lost of individuality, sing about how the wall that they’re building keeps out the enemy (poverty) because the enemy is after their work.
“The enemy is poverty, and the wall keeps out the enemy.”
the work in question however, is the building of the wall.
“What do we have that they should want? We have a wall to work upon. We have work and they have none.”
now, hades says it himself:
“And our work is never done, my children, my children.”
and that’s what capitalism does, or rather, is. it’s a vicious cycle that relies on the fear of poverty, poverty created by capitalism itself, to keep functioning. it thrives on exclusion and fear mongering. and that’s why, in hadestown, what sets the riot in motion is love, expressed through song. if capitalism blooms when watered by hatred of anything other, anything that is not created by capitalism itself, then it is beyond important to keep the parts of ourselves and our communities that have not been touched by that hatred, such as love or music or art or writing or speech or alive. by doing that in the world we live in now, we keep hope alive of the world we dream about.
I think a lot of what people call radical feminism on tumblr is really feminism 101 but people don’t want to acknowledge that being born female means that in almost all of the world if not the entire world puts us at an innate disadvantage
Imma be real as a mentally ill woman one of the hardest things is that being on my period makes it extremely hard for me to stay emotionally regulated and yet men will use that as a reason to further discredit me and every other woman
Yall are so sweet seriously :)

Why must all fanfics who portray Autistic! Zuko make him an awkward turtleduck?? (Speaking as an autistic person)
I think it's related to an odd fetishization of autistic people as "soft" and "vulnerable" and "helpless." Making someone "autistic" is a way to "babyfy" them and make them more "cute" and "awkward." People not interested in actually writing autism accurately; instead people who want to write "awkward turtleduck" Zuko use "autism" as a crutch to further that characterization. Interestingly, I have read a few fanfics which try to write neurodivergent Azula, and it never looks anything like the common depiction of "autistic Zuko."
Full disclosure: I'm not neurodivergent myself, and I'm not sure what the best way to depict autism is. It just seems to me that common "Autistic! Zuko" portrayals aren't very accurate.
nobody wants or uses tumblr live
nobody wants the shop icon where the account icon used to be
nobody wants the new video player / image viewer (let us pause ! let us zoom !)
the only good feature recently has been polls and even that took way too long to properly roll out
we are STILL fighting in the trenches against spam bots
@staff pls take notes
