Dear Fathers And Everyone,

Dear Fathers and everyone,

Today was the day where Henry was going to have his trial.

And to cut it short so my tears no longer would drown the paper with my sorrows.

Henry Kilnt Van Zikes also known as the Storyteller of The Bailey was sentenced to death that day.

I knew he wasn’t guilty but knew that I couldn’t prove it otherwise and his attorney didn't even care for my brother’s life. he just wanted to be over with it

So yeah that's what happened.

But the only good news that I have right now is that I'm Pregnant with my fiance Lord Blackquill’s child.

We are planning to get married soon.

That's all I have to say for now

With love

Heather Kelly Van zikes

To Heather,

I cannot express how sorry I am that this happened. I wish I could have been there to help you. I wish someone could have been there in my stead. Most importantly, I wish that your brother was still alive.

I am sorry that I cannot be there now to comfort you. I hope only that you can surround yourself with friends and loved ones, and keep yourself safe from the cruelty that the world can sometimes bring.

Mournfully yours, Naruhodou Ryuunosuke.

Mr. Sholmes, Dr. Iris, what were your first ever encounters with Lord Stronghart like? What did you make of that man back then?

((yes I've sent this exact question to another askblog once. I'd like to hear your take <3))

Hello, anon!

Papa and I had very different first encounters with Lord Stronghart. When I first met him, he was old, and considered himself to be infallible. He carried himself with a gravitas of importance, and acted as though I were the least important person in the world. I know that's false! I am, in fact, rather delightful. He pretended I was a waste of time.

As for Papa, he told me all about it. Stronghart, rather than just ignoring people, was actively scornful and malicious back then. He regarded anyone who was quite obviously intelligent, or possibly even more intelligent than he, with active distaste. Scoffing at his every statement, not even looking at him...

Either way, he was very annoying!

Love, Dr. Iris

How did Naruhodo and the Mikotobas' boat ride home go? How have things been back in Japan?

Hullo, dear friend.

The trip back to our home country was certainly a bittersweet one. It was not my first time having to say goodbye to my second home, but it could be argued that this time was even more difficult. The three of us managed well enough on the boat, with plenty to do to keep our minds occupied, but as I lay awake in an empty bed, I longed to be with my partner.

I feel immense pride for those two fine young adults. They have been getting along better and better as of late, sharing an experience that few could possibly hope to understand. I long for such camaraderie myself.

Things have been successful in Japan. The three of us have worked hard to implement new ideas within our legal system, adding some contingencies in the hopes of stopping any situations like that of The Professor to happen in our country.

I would like to say I do not regret the choice to leave immediately, but I cannot say that in full confidence. I go back and forth on whether or not I made the right idea.

In short, the situation is complex but progressing smoothly. Signed, Dr. Yuujin Mikotoba

Hi Enoch! What can you tell us about your hand?

Ace-chaser,

A gif of Enoch Drebber from dgs doing the wave with his hands, reaching his left hand to his eye and adjusting his eyeglass.

You mean this old thing? I created it myself many, many years ago. It is a fully functional prosthetic, the first and only of its kind.

A gif of Enoch Drebber from dgs holding a finger in the air, moving it back and forth as he talks.

I created it piece by piece, I have to wind it frequently, and it must be oiled, which is a problem, as I am... currently away from my place of residence. It must be removed every night, and for that reason I tend to sleep with it under my body. I am afraid that someone will steal it from me, as it is something that seems very expensive.

A gif of Enoch Drebber from dgs holding his hands in the air, talking with a suspicious look on his face.

I will not deny that it was expensive. It took years to create. But it is something that aids me in my movement. Without a second hand, it is much harder to tinker. It is my most prized possession. I could not be more proud of having created it.

Thank you for asking.

Enoch Drebber

Question to Barok

I know Klint is a touchy subject for you but do you have any good memories you shared together? And..Does the acts of what he did still haunt you? What Stronghart did and how he manipulated you and Klint? -Ares S.

To Ares:

Klimt is a rather touchy subject of mine, yes. That being said, his relationship with me used to be quite good. He was my closest and only friend for quite some time. I smile when I look back on our early years, the summers in the sun, nights warming by the fire, catching bugs in our hands and going on hunting trips with my father. Our father.

I still have a difficult time believing that my brother could have killed someone. I know he did, I have come to accept that difficult truth, but I cannot follow any line of logic he may have used. Perhaps it was entirely illogical. What remains is that he did kill a man, and Stronghart used that fact to his advantage to ruin our lives, the lives of the families of men my brother was forced to kill, perhaps the entirety of law in London itself.

It will take me quite some time coming to terms with everything. It has been months since I was confronted with the news, and yet I have hardly been able to sort through the mass amount of emotions it still stirs from within me.

Thoughtfully yours, Barok van Zieks

Can I hold chuunosuke please?

Dearest Anon:

You are absolutely free to hold Chuunosuke! He seems to have a penchant for chaos, despite me not making him that way, so do watch any snacks you may have on your person!

Can I Hold Chuunosuke Please?

As Papa sometimes says, he makes for a crumby companion.

Please treat him with care!! Love, Iris

van zieks if you were on a sinking ship with ryuunosuke naruhodou and a pile of wine bottles which would you push off first

To Ribbonroad:

I have often been told of the dangers of water. I would never allow myself into such a situation, but for the sake of your answer, I would push the wine bottles off of the boat first. I have far too much of it already, and I am not a fan of the taste. Bitter and raw, fragrant and malignant.

I have never finished a bottle, and I have no plans to change this.

Lord Barok Van Zeiks,

We are immensely thankful to receive a response from you. The art of science is the art of collaboration. Every little bit propels us further into the future. We are disappointed to hear the falsity of the rumors, but some of our members have expressed concern there has been a misunderstanding. We are seeking information on a "land crocodile". A very large member of the monitor lizard family, theorized to be residing somewhere in the Indonesian islands. While dragons of myth would be ground breaking, all of our members agree that they reside firmly in legend.

We a currently drafting a separate inquiry regarding how how the exotic animals were maintained when they were alive. Our condolences on your fathers passing.

-Zoological Society of London

To the Zoological Society of London,

Lord Barok Van Zeiks,

Thank you for clearing up the confusion. My apologies for believing that you were referring to the mythical beast, I have a friend who is prone to flights of fancy, and quite possibly does believe that dragons, the great winged lizards, do exist. I have humoured him in his search as of late, and thus it has been on my mind.

Lord Barok Van Zeiks,

As for your true question of dragons, I do not know of this large lizard of which you speak. While my parents were world travelers, I have always much preferred to stay in my home country. I have not gone anywhere near such a place where you believe these dragons may be found.

Lord Barok Van Zeiks,

As for the exotic animals, I do not know if there is any particular way to know how he obtained them. I highly doubt it was in any sort of legal way. I regret to say that I do not have any further information that I can give you.

Signed, Lord Barok van Zieks

For herlock, what are your intentions for my friend and your self proclaimed “partner”?

-genshin

Dearest Genshin,

A gif of Sherlock Holmes/Herlock Sholmes from dgs holding a pipe in his mouth, eyes closed.

My intentions for my partner all depend upon what his intentions for me may be. I assure you it is nothing improper, and--

EGADS!

A gif of Sherlock Holmes/Herlock Sholmes from dgs shadowboxing to the front.

Detective Asougi?! You have been dead for many years! Am I conversing with a ghost? How could this be possible?

A gif of Sherlock Holmes/Herlock Sholmes from dgs posing.

Do not scare me like that, Detective! I know I frustrated you in life, but you do not have to frighten me so!

A gif of Sherlock Holmes/Herlock Sholmes from dgs pointing to the side and talking.

That being said, I have sent him a letter expressing my feelings towards him and asking him to come to England. Perhaps, if he cannot, I may visit him in Japan. I miss him dearly.

Frightened, Herlock Sholmes

"Barok, can you see this letter?" Is all the letter says. It's written in fresh ink, but the handwriting resembles that of his dead brother. 👻

No matter how I look at this, I cannot believe... and yet, when I ran my fingers over the letter, the ink smudged and spread as though it had been written moments before. The handwriting is undeniably familiar, the ink the scarlet he loved to use in his time.

So, all told, yes. I can see this letter.

Signed, Barok
