Iris,

Iris,

Have you ever made Victoria sandwiches? If so are they good?

Dearest Anon,

I adore Victoria sandwiches! They're quite the delight, and Papa always asks me when I'll be making them next. We eat them to celebrate cases, birthdays, experiments, friendships... all sorts of milestones!

Ginebean doesn't know exactly when her birthday is, so we have celebrations regarding her birthday whenever she seems down. At this rate, she's going to be older than the judge any day now!

I have been getting quite interested in the process of preserves lately, whether they be pickles, jams, candied fruits, salted meats... anything that keeps food better longer! My uncle sometimes talks of the ice box he has which can keep foods frozen for quite some time, though I do prefer this method. It's cheaper, more reliable, and frankly, more fun!

All my love, Iris

Hello genshin,

What do you like about dogs?

Best,

Greetings,

I would have to say that I am not typically a dog person. However, there are some very noble qualities about them that I can truly respect. They are noble, charming, handsome... They are extremely loyal to those that they love.

I cannot help but adore them for their enthusiasm for everything they do. They love fully and unashamedly. They will immediately let you know whether they are happy or upset. They cannot help but wag their tails when they are pleased, or tuck them between their legs when they have done something wrong. They feel everything fully. They express everything fully. It is so easy not only to understand them but also to grow attached to them.

I do truly love some dogs, though I have only met a few in my life.

Thank you, Genshin Asougi

Dear Kazuma

You will never get it if you don’t ask Barok van zieks

Dear anon,

Assuming that this is in relation to the mysterious note I was given the other day, I asked Barok. He assumed it was about adoption as well, something that seems rather ridiculous, as I cannot be given up in that way anymore. I already have been adopted into a family and even so, I am at the age where I am now considered my own family of one.

Dear Gina, any updates on the move to 221B? What's it like? Best, πŸ₯

Dear πŸ₯,

I'm still trying to figure out some money so I can pay Mr. Holmes and all them. It feels wrong to not be able to pay for it, what with me being used to being on the streets and all. I know I don't need a place like his, yeah? But he's still just being so kind, and I can't really get why.

After a whole lotta convincing, though, it was actually Asougi who helped me make up my mind. (Asogi? Asoogi? I asked Toby and he wasn't too sure either. Sorry!) He basically said that he would pay for it if Mr. Holmes needed money, he just wanted to make sure I was livin somewhere safe. I moved all my stuff in yesterday, slept there last night an everythin.

(I think really his reason for sayin that, though, was that he knows what it's like to be lost and sad and lonely. I think he needs me there to help him feel better even when I make myself feel better.)

What do you think?

dear sherlock holmes: do any of mr mikotobas friends ever ask you to dance. if yes, do they say "go white boy, go" and if not, would you dance for them hypothetically

Dearest Ribbonroad,

I'm afraid to bring the mood down, but Yuujin does seem to be running out of friends. That being said, Jigoku was a rather large fan of the term 'jig', and therefore he and I ended up doing a lively jig together whenever we saw one another.

He did not use the phrase you mentioned, as I have never heard anyone use that phrase before. As for if I would dance for him... Ah, it would be hard to say no!

You have other work?!? grabby hands!

Indeed I do. I'd say my magnum opus would be this near 5,000 word epistolary I wrote about the Professor killings and such. It took me five months of research and writing and it was so fun and I am genuinely so proud of it. I have tons of other stuff on that account, but I love this story so much. I love epistolary and I'm fascinated by the stuff that happened before the plot of dgs.

Under the read more is a link and a description of the story and the work that went into it.

This story is an epistolary. If you don't know what that is, it's a story told entirely through documents. If you want an example of a really good one, the original version of Dracula by Bram Stoker is an epistolary.

I based the story off of a lot of things, but in particular, Dracula, various Sherlock Holmes stories (especially, of course, Hound of the Baskervilles), and original documents I found from the time period. I researched birth certificates, newspaper clippings, letters, journal entries, and even submissions to parliament. I talked to people who, like me, are really into the Victorian period. I asked my British friends for help on various aspects of life in England.

I realize it may not look like it, but a lot of fics take a lot of work. This one, I was writing before we knew that dgs would ever be localized. I had high doubts about it specifically because of the copyright surrounding Sherlock Holmes. I am so pleased that I made and released it when I did, as it came out a month before the localization. It's, in my opinion, a fascinating resource into what the story was like before the localization. I still haven't finished DGS 2 quite yet, so I have yet to see, for example, what Klimt's will ended up looking like. I based it half off of some random clipping I found on the wiki that I have no idea of the source for, and also a fanslation (not the dubbed one by I believe TaisaTheGamer or something along those lines, but a subbed one by a channel that's like Dai Gyakuten Saiban 2 or something).

So, basically, this is a lovely little melting pot of two or three translations, my own grammar edits, real historical documents, Arthur Conan Doyle, Bram Stoker, and some friends of mine. I am so proud of it.

To Seishiro Jigoku

Why?

Ten years ago, during that travesty of a trial against your close friend Genshin, you stepped up to the witness stand to defend him. You even destroyed said stand in your fury.

A few days later, when commanded by Stronghart, **you chose to put a bullet to your friend's heart**. You had a choice, and yet you chose to betray that friend you had tried to defend with all your might.

...

...

*Why?*

To my anonymous writer,

I don't think that it is possible to explain the kind of duress I was under on that fateful night. I fully believed in Genshin's innocence. He was my best friend. I would not have destroyed court property if I had not believed that I was correct.

When you are given an order by someone who terrifies and awes you in equal amounts, who holds their fate in your hands, who is urging, demanding that you do something drastic for the fate of yourself and your friends, what do you do? If I had not shot Genshin, I think Stronghart would have shot him instead. I do not believe there was any chance he would have made it out of that cemetery alive.

I was foolish, selfish, reckless, and manipulated. I was too much of a coward to stand up to this order, the time pressure and possibility of Yuujin being caught in the crosshairs... I can never forgive myself for what I did. I hope nobody can forgive me. I deserve every torture in the world.

But nothing I ever do can bring him back.

mr holmes on a scale of 1-10 how babygirl is professor mikotoba

My dear Ribbon,

I'm afraid I don't quite know the definition of the term you're using. Yuujin is a very mature man, which I suppose would make him the opposite of a baby girl? Though your use of it as an adjective rather than a noun compels me.

Yuujin is a man with a great wealth of knowledge and experience. After we had parted for ten years, he came back with a significant amount of grey in his hair. He had a delightfully well trimmed moustache to match, as well... it took everything in me to focus on the astonishing importance of the case I was on, rather than admiring my partner.

I would give him a 10, regardless of his babygirl-ness. Sherlock Holmes

NARUHODOU ALERT: THE GIRLS (asougi and van zieks) ARE FIGHTINGGGGG!!!!!!!

Augh!

I have done all that I can to prevent such a thing from happening, and have received countless letters already detailing how precisely Asougi feels about the man. He tells me both of certain incidents that have happened as well as how his personality grates against everyone else's.

He had told me that van Zieks is in a much brighter mood as of late, though, so hopefully the fighting should stop soon! Though I will admit I do not know the contents of this fight in particular.

Thank you for letting me know! Naruhodou Ryuunosuke

Sherlock or Mikotoba how did you meet???

Anon,

A gif of Yuujin Mikotoba in his London suit, looking intense and talking.

It is a story that I think of quite often. I had been staying with my friends in a hotel, but the two of them were looking for a flat, and I realized that I needed somewhere closer to my place of work. I brought this up to one of my coworkers--Dr. John Watson, to be exact--and he informed me that the brother of one of his friends was also looking for a flatmate in the precise area where I was looking.

When I arrived and we first interacted, he approached me with a list of things that would put off a roommate. His flaws, I believe he called them. He then asked me for a list of mine, which I gave him. It was an incredibly strange conversation. You may not believe, but he used to be quite a stoic man. He did not show many of his emotions, he was cold and calculated... so you would imagine my surprise when he told me to stand and walk to the middle of the pub where we had met.

He told me the steps to a dance. I thought doing it would make me look ridiculous, so he insisted on dancing first. I watched, I laughed, I joined in, and we looked ridiculous together.

People have said that Holmes is a man who does not understand social cues. Those people are wrong. He knew exactly what I needed at that moment, and I cannot thank him enough for such a warm welcome. We moved in that same day.

It was strange living with him, but I will treasure those years for the rest of my life. My apologies for going on and on, but it is a story that I hold near and dear to my heart.

Thank you for asking! Dr. Yuujin Mikotoba

Dear Sherlock and Mikotoba,

You two make an iconic duo. Between the two of you, who would you say is the Sinjin and who is the Burf? This is for science… I eagerly look forward to your response.

Dear anon,

Dear Sherlock And Mikotoba,

I have absolutely no idea to what you refer! That being said, I can tell you for scientific fact! That I am a Sinjin, and my dear Yuujin is a Burf. Perhaps if I get further information I would consider changing my mind, but I know deep in my gut that my initial reaction is correct.
