You hold the power to a happier mind in the palm of your hand.
I’ve noticed a need for mental health resources in this little circle I write for. Unfortunately, the United States especially is not great about advertising these resources, so their existence is widely unknown. These resources are mostly U.S. resources, however going through your country’s healthcare system, your employer, or your university for information should put you on the right path.
I will maintain and update this list as I have time and more information, but I wanted to get something out ASAP.
Please, do not entrust your mental well-being to strangers or venting areas. You deserve proper attention and respect paid to your pain, and at any given time, you can approach someone going through an equally tough time and end up feeling unheard.
You have control over your mental health to a certain extent and that, to me, is empowering. Healthy habits as well as affordable treatment and even online resources can help get you on the right track to a better life, and put you on a path to healing. Please also check with your university, if you attend one, as they will have counselors and other information available to you.
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: Available 24 hours. Calls in English, Spanish.1-800-273-8255
If you’re considering suicide, I beg you, call this number. You will not be harmed or taken to a mental hospital. Just tell yourself, “If I make it through this call then-” and start setting small goals in the world of the living for yourself. One step at a time. No matter how badly you feel about yourself, someone, somewhere, cares about you. This is an excellent resource to use if you’re considering acting on those thoughts.Talk to another human who is ready to help you 24/7.
Mental Health America (MHA):
This is the absolute BEST online hub for locating mental health resources in the United States. If you live in another country, you should have similar resources, so please do a quick Google search to check. However, they provide universal information such as nutritional information, healthy habits, etc. They also have a screening tool to help you decide what action you can take to improve your situation.
Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Helpline: call 1-800-662-4357
They will help you find treatment for mental health and substance abuse issues. Free, 24/7, in Spanish and English.
“I can’t afford therapy” MHA info on how to proceed
Excellent information on how to speak with insurance and tap into other resources in order to address and improve your mental health. Group therapy is a great alternative to individual therapy, which is more expensive. There are even free support groups (maybe not so much in the world of COVID) that meet online and you can speak with others facing similar issues.
LGBTQIA+ resources for mental health
Resources for those with the specific needs that may exist as a member of this community. These include crisis text lines, directories to local resources, assistance with finding discrimination-free treatment for mental and physical health issues, and information about caring for your mind in a world that isn’t always accepting of you as you are. They also provide educational tools for family members to help better understand LGBTQIA+ individuals experience.
Therapy for Black Girls.ORG
“ Therapy for Black Girls is an online space dedicated to encouraging the mental wellness of Black women and girls.” Using this resource Black women and girls can find a therapist who may relate to them on a more personal level, and better understand their challenges and experiences.
Racial stress Information and resources American Psychological Association (APA):
The self care section of this is near the center. You can reach it through the “related” link directly to the right under the header.
People of color face unique challenges in the United States. The APA provides information on how this can impact parenting, how to take care of yourself as you experience racial stress, and resources to help with a multitude of issues you may face.
MHA National “31 tips to boost your mental health”
There are things you can start doing RIGHT NOW to improve your mental health. Don’t let others be in control of your well-being. Asking for help is of course encouraged, but at the end of the day, you want to hold the reigns and control your life. From healthy sleep to exercise, all these tips have been proven to have a positive impact on your mental health.

You meet him at the first day of a museum summer internship. Because he’s in all of your courses, the two of you begin to text about the work assigned to you, and then eventually about things other than the internship. Tsukishima Kei is devastatingly sarcastic, funny, sharp, and a little bit cute. You keep the last bit to yourself as the friendship becomes more and more cherished.
。o° ✧༺ ✿ ༻∞ ❀ ∞༺ ✿ ༻✧ °o。
R u okay
You look at the chat on your phone. You had forgotten that you added Tsukishima to your private story a week ago, and posted a crying selfie. You’re a little embarrassed and debate your response.
Honesty always works best, right? Just got into a fight with my parents, you type back.
You see his bitmoji pop up, and then down again. Then up again. He’s typing.
Wanna ft?
Yes, you reply.
。o° ✧༺ ✿ ༻∞ ❀ ∞༺ ✿ ༻✧ °o。
“You’re going to regret it,” Tsukishima says. Through the call his voice comes out crackly and distorted, but no matter how much white noise your phone expels you can tell your best friend is disapproving.
“It’s ice cream. I don’t think anyone could regret eating it,” you offer as a rebuttal, peeling the cover back. “Plus it’s mint chocolate chip.”
“Which just means you’re going to finish the entire pint,” Tsukishima points out, “not feel hungry for real food, and then crash from your sugar high and spend the rest of the night depressed.”
“Sounds like the plan,” you reply, digging in. The first spoonful melts into your mouth and you shiver, grinding the chocolate chips against your molars. “Mmh...”
“Have you eaten anything other than ice cream today?”
This you have to think about. “Soup? An apple?”
“Why do I even bother with you,” he sighs.
“Because you love me... oh! Brain freeze!”
Tsukishima rolls his eyes, but he stays on FaceTime with you until your parents get home, snaps you at 8 to remind you to eat “real dinner—this means vegetables”, and responds to your text at 12:03 in the morning when you’re at a sugar low, needing but unable to cry. He tries to fill your emptiness with his blunt words, and you try your best to swallow them.
。o° ✧༺ ✿ ༻∞ ❀ ∞༺ ✿ ༻✧ °o。
“So you two just don’t talk anymore?” Your friend Yuki asks, pushing her pasta around her plage with a fork.
“Mmhm,” you say, mirroring her. “Well, it’s not like I’m loosing sleep over it. Besides, he’s a third year, and has to worry about being vice captain of volleyball and applying to university and all of that...”
Yuki shakes her head. “That’s so weird though. You guys seemed so close... and not to mention cute—”
Before she’s even finished her sentence, you’re shaking your head. “We were only friends. And not even good ones at that! I was always unloading on him, he never told me anything about him and I never asked. I’m at a better place now and I hope he is too.”
Yuki shakes her head. “Well, do you miss him at all?”
“Of course, he was my best friend,” you say. The admission takes you both by surprise, and you rush to shove a mouthful of pasta into your mouth before you can say anymore.
Yuki smiles brightly. “Well, you don’t need him anymore! You have me now!”
Long after both of you have gone home, you think about Yuki’s statement. You don’t need him anymore. It’s true, you think, technically. You don’t get into frequent fights with your parents anymore and you no longer rely on social media to broadcast your insecurities and you no longer need anyone else to fulfill your need for attention. Was that all he was, someone who gave you attention? Someone who made you feel a little less alone? The thought makes you sad. You fall asleep feeling a familiar loneliness.
。o° ✧༺ ✿ ༻∞ ❀ ∞༺ ✿ ༻✧ °o。
You’re mildly surprised when you see he’s responded to your instagram story. Thanks, you reply.
He likes the message.
。o° ✧༺ ✿ ༻∞ ❀ ∞༺ ✿ ༻✧ °o。
Did u hear? Tsukishima collapsed yesterday.
You’re already on your way to meetup with a fee friends when you get the text message. Doubling back, you search for a contact in your phone, then press it frantically. When nobody picks up you text one of your friends: Sorry, won’t be able to make it today, something came up.
Then you reply to Yamaguchi: where is he now????
When you see Tsukishima Kei, pale, skinny, and exhausted, look almost at home in the hospital bed, your emotions explode. He looks surprised to see you. You’re surprised that he’s surprised, and also a little angry, and also a little upset.
“You,” you hiss. “What the hell are you doing here?”
Tsukishima has the audacity to laugh. “That’s my line.”
“Is it really? Wow. I can’t believe I respected you so much. I thought you were a smart guy. I thought you knew how to take care of yourself. I didn’t know you wanted to be an anemic.”
He winces. “It’s nothing. Why are you here anyways? You don’t need to be here. I didn’t ask for you.”
You walk up to his bed, place the plastic bags with vitamins and bananas and his favorite energy drinks and a slice of strawberry shortcake on the nightstand, and leave without a word.
He texts you three hours later with a picture of an empty plate. Thanks. I’m sorry. I was embarrassed. For u to see me like that.
Take care of urself, you respond. You’re genuinely concerned for him.
Yeah, he responds.
Then: Will you come again?
。o° ✧༺ ✿ ༻∞ ❀ ∞༺ ✿ ༻✧ °o。
“I think I’m going to go,” you tell Tsukishima, pumping your legs to go even higher. He sits on the swing next to you, watching you amusedly. You are talking about the summer festival.
“It’s going to be crowded,” he says.
“Snacks,” you continue. “Fireworks. Friends.”
“Aren’t you going to be a seventh wheel?”
“Besides the point, Tsuuuukki. I’ve been waiting all year for this.”
He looks at you. You smile, “What?”
“Nothing.”
“Rude.”
“That’s me.”
“Yeah, yeah,” you laugh. “Hey, the sky is so pretty right now.”
“Yeah,” he hums. You don’t know what he’s smiling about but you smile anyways.
。o° ✧༺ ✿ ༻∞ ❀ ∞༺ ✿ ༻✧ °o。
“Is that... Tsukishima?” Yuki wonders put loud. “Yeah, I think that’s him! Y/N!!”
Your yukata is not fitting right. “No, he said he wasn’t coming,” you argue, twisting around trying to fix the bow.
“Who said that?” A familiar voice cuts in, amused. You look up to see none other than Tsukishima Kei. He pulls you to him and turns you around, tying your ribbons tighter.
“Thanks,” you mutter.
The festival is crowded and loud. You have to strain to hear him, but his response makes you smile.
“Anytime,” Tsukishima says.

Why was it so cold? When did it get so quiet?
So many questions ran through Bakugou’s head but all he did was grab the blanket and held it closer to him as he tried to get rid of the coldness he felt. He stayed that way for a few seconds before his eyes shot open and he sat up, his eyes darting around the room. It took him a few seconds to realize he was in a hospital room. “What the fuck?” He mentally groaned at how parched his throat was. He looked around the room again and grunted once he noticed there wasn’t water to be found.
Looking over at the table next to the bed he saw how there wasn’t anything on it besides a remote for the bed, another remote for the tv and an empty vase. It didn’t bother him that there wasn’t any “Get better soon” bull crap his friends would get him while recovering from the latest villain attack. He knew they meant well but getting all of it back to his apartment was such a pain in the ass.
Speaking of which, what the hell even happened? All he can remember was fighting against one of the villains and when he was close to landing a solid hit on them- he blacked out. He guessed that another villain helped with knocking him out. Remembering that pissed him off to no end. Katsuki Bakugou was definitely not someone who would get knocked out so easily. He looked down at himself and saw the many bandages littering his arms.
The young ash blond was so deep in his thoughts, he hadn’t noticed the nurse walk in. His vermillion eyes looked over at the doorway when the sound of a clipboard falling onto the floor and a loud gasp caught his attention. There was a girl who he guessed was a nurse. He noticed right away how her eyes were wide with shock.
“Why the hell are you looking-” “Doctor! Doctor Yamamoto! He’s awake!” The nurse interrupted him as she called for the doctor, head out in the hallway and glanced over at Bakugou every now and then. He heard a pair of footsteps quickly making their way to his room and a tall, skinny man entered. He had straight black hair and brown eyes and oddly reminded Bakugou of one of his friends, Hanta Sero.
“Ah- how are you feeling Bakugou?” Doctor Yamamoto asked him after sending the nurse out to get Bakugou some water.
Bakugou put his hand on his neck. “I feel like shit.” He managed to say. Yamamoto hummed at his response as he looked at the clipboard he picked up when he entered the room. He asked him a few questions, writing down all of Bakugou’s responses. The nurse, who was named Hana, came back and handed Bakugou the glass of water. Bakugou took it and immediately downed it all. Once the glass was empty it was set on the table as Yamamoto cleared his throat.
“So due to your current condition, you’ll be on break from doing any hero work for the time being. A few months at most.” Bakugou’s brows furrowed. “Why not just call Recovery Girl? Have her use her quirk, and I can go back to beating villain’s asses in a few days.” Neither Yamamoto or Hana said a thing for a few seconds.
“Well Recovery Girl can’t because she’s-” “Visiting family so she’s not here.” Yamamoto cut off Hana. Bakugou groaned. Great. “We’ll return in a while, your file has to be updated. Hana will return with food for you to eat. So in the meantime, just turn on the TV.” Both Yamamoto and Hana excused themselves and walked out of the room.
“Doctor do you really think it’s a good idea for him to turn the TV on?” Hana asked as they walked away from his room. Yamamoto nods. “Nothing important is happening today so there shouldn’t be a reason for any of them to be shown on the news.”
Bakugou sighed in irritation as he reached for the TV remote and turned it on. For a few seconds, he just sat there in the bed going through channels to see if any would interest him. None of them did and he decided to stop on one of the news channels. Bakugou was about to turn off the TV, nothing was catching attention, and right when his thumb was about to press the power button, a very familiar name was said.
“Former pro hero Deku was spotted at the park with his two grandkids. What a heartwarming sight to see right?” The news woman let out a small laugh as a picture of an old man and two kids sitting on each side of him appeared on screen. Bakugou’s eyes were close to popping out of their eye sockets. What the hell was happening? That couldn’t be the Deku he knew. Deku wasn’t an old grandpa. The guy was nineteen the last time he saw him for crying out loud!
Bakugou wasn’t even paying attention to what the news people were saying anymore. He just sat there speechless for a few moments before boiling anger started appearing.
“What the actual FUCK!” Bakugou shouts out loudly, confused about everything that was happening. He hadn’t noticed Yamamoto enter his room again, Hana appearing seconds later holding his tray of food and they were both breathless since they ran to his room.
“Turn the TV off-” Yamamoto quickly went over to the bedside to reach for the remote but Bakugou held it out of the doctor’s reach.
“No! What fucking day is it? Tell me what day it is…” Bakugou asked him fuming. Neither Hana or Yamamoto answered right away. “Answer me dammit!”
“The question you should ask is what year is it.” Hana said quietly. Bakugou looked at her, his glare only scaring her.
“Why the hell should I ask what year it is?” The ash blond looked between the two in front of him.
“Bakugou,” Yamamoto sighed, he didn’t want him to find out this way. “you’ve been out for decades. Sixty-six years to be exact.”
Be safe out there, ladies!

_Fall Season_
Because there’s almost thirty of them on the team, they take up the whole bus
There’s an unspoken rule about letting Aoyama get on the bus first so he can choose any seat all for himself
Before the bus drives off, Iida is telling the rest of the team to put their seatbelts first because safety first
Less than half of them did so
Bakugou has to yell from his seat to shut up or else they’ll get there late
The bus driver is pretty chill. Everyone refers to her as “Aunty Wheels” after everyone witnessed her use either roller skates, a skate board, scooter, ect
Kaminari came up with the name
Aizawa, Hizashi, Toshinori and Kayama take up the first two rows
Aunty Wheels will have music playing in the over head as she drove the bus
They’re sadly all clean version
WAP eventually came on but it took everyone a while to recognize it
Mina, Denki, Hagakure, Tokage, lowkey Monoma, Uraraka, Midoriya and yes, Todoroki too are almost screaming the actual lyrics
Iida tries to stop them
They only got louder
Someone posted a video about it on their stories
When they’re fifteen minutes away from the school they’re going to, Aizawa will ask the bus driver to turn off the music for a bit before turning to look at them
Everyone quickly shuts up when they see him turn to them
“When we get there only have your adidas pants, jackets zipped up to hide the costumes, and your drawstrings. The faster we get the equipment out from under the bus, the more practice time we’ll have before preforming. Understood?“ “Yes sir!“
Costumes are uniforms they pay to keep
Instead of the costumes having a specific gender, they’re unisex
The hair style varies because of the length of someone’s hair
Short hair = one bun, medium length = two buns, long hair = three buns (use Rey from Star Wars as reference)
Guys have their hair hair sprayed and/or gelled back
Bakugou, Midoriya, Kaminari, Tetsutetsu and Shinsou use the most hair spray and gel
Aoyama and Sero have low pony tails
Once at the school and they get off the bus, the atmoshpere changes
They were joking in the bus
But now?
Every single one of them is serious
I’m talking about resting bitch faces, some of them hold their heads high
And no one talks which adds to the intimidation factor
When Aizawa tells them to line up after the weapons are in the red cart (the blue cart is for water bottles and gatorade) and the flag bags have been grabbed, Iida, Momo and Kendo are each leading a line
While they’re walking to sign in, they walk five feet apart to look bigger
None of them look around but with using their peripherals, they know other groups are staring at them
After signing in and finding their practice spot, they set their drawstring bags close to each other and get their own equipment before setting in a block
Aizawa will set the speaker in front of them while they stretch and play music
He’ll put on three songs at most before they do across the floors and a bit of movement
After that he’ll just have the show music playing on repeat and lets them go off into their sections
Riffle Line
Bakugou and Iida are the ones who are the top two in riffle so they’re cleaning any work that’s dirty
“Shitty Hair watch your pitch it’s tilted a bit. Anymore and it can hit you dumbass.” “Thanks Bakubro!”
“Bakugou refrain from using such language!’
“Shut up Four-Eyes!”
“You’re acting so rabid Bakugou! You sure you have your shots?”
“He’s had his rabbis shots Monoma.” Jiro snickered and Uraraka started cracking up
“I WILL-” “Hey Bakugou! Bet you can’t toss a seven, do a tripple turn and catch in a split!” “BET!”
Thank god for Kirishima being able to distract Bakugou before he continues yelling
Saber Line
“Hey Todoroki, how’s the hand before the pop? Under or over the blade?“ Kendo looked at the duel haired male
This man
Could be a MODEL
When he demonstrates the way he does the work, everyone stops just to look at him
“Does Albert have tape? Mine’s starting to peel off again.” Tokage only noticed her tape getting loose again because of the blade being sticky
“We have a walking tape dispenser. Just get it from him instead of having to walk all the way to the cart.” Kaibara shrugged and seconds later Tokage had to cover her mouth with her hand to surpress her laughter.
Flag Line
Uraraka stood infront of the small block of flags clapping the tempo with Midoriya next to her. “Five, six, five six, seven, eight!”
“Dance with me in my backyard boy-” “Denki!” “Sorry!“
“Wait are we at the double touch the ground or double catch behind the back with our free hand in the air?” “Double catch behind the back kero.”
“Wait, wait, I think I can do the 45 turn around.. Move so I don’t hit you please.”
Koda cradled the flag while standing in first position before opening up as he stepped out. He then turned halfway as he popped the flag so the silk was facing up and then he tossed it over his head before turning once and strongly caught the flag before holding for a bit.
Mina and Uraraka squealed in excitement because it had taken him a while to get the trick
Dance Line
Ojiro helped Tokage with her splits as they waited for Momo and Mina to join them
Aoyama walked over to the two and just
Slide into his left split on Tokage’s right and smiled at her
“Aoyama.” “Yes mon amie?” “I love you but I really want to push you over right now.”
Hakagure giggled as she went into her right split to Tokage’s left with ease
Without hesitation Tokage playfully pushed Hakagure over
_After Practice Time is Up_
When they had to start making their way to the field to meet up with the band, they lined up based on the equipment they have to set up first
They all placed their drawstring bags and clothes in the empty red cart by this point
Since their was four, yes four, movements- they all had their equipment easily accessible to set faster and not waist time
Once at the entrance, Aizawa turned to them and gave them a pep talk
“Go out there and blow their minds. You are all on this team for a reason.”
Hizashi gave his quick talk. “Every single one of you have worked too hard and that got you guys to the division you’re in now. Go rock it out there!”
Toshinori gave the team a small smile as Kayama gave them a wink
“Captains talk to the team.”
Iida, Momo and Kendo nod as the team got close
“I believe in us all! “
“Let’s go out there and do our best everyone!“
“Don’t worry about messing up. Just act like it’s apart of the show and get back in as soon as you can.“
The whole team put (Bakugou was forced to) their hands in the middle before Denki quietly counted to three before they all rose their hands in the air while whispering “Let’s go!”
Aizawa gestured for them to go line up next to the band as they had to go line up at the football field before they were called onto the field
“Please welcome to the field, UA!“
Someone from battery started off the beat and everyone marched in place
They started marching onto the field, stepping with their left foot
