These Joyful Photos Celebrate The Beauty Of Trans Women

“As we celebrate Pride, it’s important to remember that trans women of color including Marsha P. Johnson, Sylvia Rivera, and Miss Major Griffin-Gracy were at the forefront of the movement. As model and activist KhrystyAna puts it, “This is Pride month; a month we would not have without trans women of color.

Yet, despite half a century of progress, trans rights still fall behind those of others in the LGBTQ+ community, with trans women of color remaining the most vulnerable members of the queer community.“

KhrystyAna teamed up with photographer Amanda Picotte, model Seana Steele, and stylist Guvanch (all four of whom are part of the LGBTQ+ community) to create this photoshoot celebrating trans women. T

he photos are part of the KhrystyAna’s Real Catwalk Project, dedicated to throwing out conventional beauty standards and championing inclusivity. Thirteen trans women, including Steele, posed for photos wearing high fashion pieces in pink, blue, and white to represent the Trans Pride Flag.

The 13 women featured are Daniella Carter, Alexandra Lee, Daria Dee, Mojo Disco, Jasmine Infiniti, Alana Jessica, Jari Jones, Shay Neary, Jazmine Shepard, Seana Steele, Garnet Rubio, Angelica Torres, and Nicki Vrotsos.

The photos are beautiful and joyous — very different from how the media typically portrays trans women.”

“assuming autistic people don’t know what things like sex and romance are is infantilizing and ableist” and “let asexual, aromantic, and aroace autistic people exist in peace” are two opinions that can coexist and some of you really need to Know

Not shaving and not wearing make up are literally nonbehaviors. They’re a complete lack of action. But doing nothing is considered masculine because women are not allowed to just be. this goes double for trans women.

We talk a lot about consent, and that’s a good thing. We talk a lot about autonomy, and that’s a good thing. We talk a lot about privacy, and that’s a good thing.

But we talk mostly about all of that in respect to sex, and relationships, and it’s important to remember this applies to other things, too.

If someone says, “don’t tell anyone I got this new job,” and you then tell people, you’ve violated their consent, their privacy, and their autonomy.

If a friend says, “I don’t like it when people touch my hair,” and you keep touching their hair, you have violated their consent, their autonomy, and their privacy.

If a coworker asks you not to tease them about their new boyfriend, even if it seems like gentle and friendly fun to you, and you do it, you’ve violated their consent, their autonomy, and their privacy.

People remember these things, and they hurt. Not as much as sexual assault, obviously. But those small violations of your wishes, those instances of disrespect, still hurt, and they can add up.

Consent doesn’t just apply to sex. Respect the wishes of others.

Hey, quick tip for messaging your neurodivergent and/or chronically ill pals:

If they do not respond to you right away or in a little while, please do not keep spamming them with messages until they respond. They could be dealing with a flare up or might be focused on something else atm. Texting and messaging people can also take a lot of energy, especially when we’re in pain, and if you keep adding message after message you’re making it more difficult for us to actually get back to you because you keep giving us more that we have to respond to.

I know it can feel this way, but when we temporarily “ignore” you (and I use that word very loosely) this does not mean we suddenly don’t love or care about you. We’re just fatigued, in pain, experiencing a mental block, etc. and we need extra time. Just give us a little breathing room, we’re already suffocating.

Neurotypical and able-bodied people are highly encouraged to reblog this, just don’t clown.
