And Tsukasa just leans over to look

They both happen to turn their heads at the same time to say something to each other

And their lips touch

It's just a graze, but it has both of them scrambling away

They're both flustered and anxious because holy shit

That really just happened

Neither knows what to do in this situation

Do they part ways?

Talk about it?

Avoid the topic for the rest of their natural born lives and just pretend it never happened?

No, this has been building for a while now

Both of them know it

If they leave things as they are, they may not get another chance to admit their feelings for one another

Tsukasa clears his throat

Manny shuffles anxiously

They share a look, both understanding that what is about to happen is going to change their lives forever

Tsukasa reaches forward, the braver of the two

He takes Manny's face in his hands, and leans in

The kiss is nervous, and a bit awkward

But the longer they're pressed together, the more natural it feels

Like they were meant to be connected like this

Arms wrap around each other, bodies are pulled tighter against the other

Then someone calls their names, and they force themselves apart

They stare at each other for a long time, still a bit bewildered

They're called for a second time

"We should...talk about this later."

"Uh-huh yeah okay."

Manny's knees buckle, nearly fainting from the shock of it all once it really settles in

But Tsukasa catches him, and carries him back to the village

Entirely on Impulse

It happens in a moment of pure adrenaline

After something happens that has the whole kingdom of science in a moment of chaos

They see each other from a distance, and both just starts running

They don't care where they are, or who can see them

They're just glad the other is okay

Once in reach, they grab at each other

Hands in hair and fingers dug into clothes

And they just crash their lips together

They kiss until they can't breathe

Only separating when they both are desperate for air

Someone whistles

Senku groans that he owes Gen money

They don't get time to discuss what just happened, not for a few days

Tsukasa keeps a distance, still reeling from what he's done

Manny panics about it

Eventually, they're shoved together in a room totally not by design (Senku says, lying)

And are forced to confront their actions and feelings

The kiss that comes after is more intentional, if not a bit hesitant

Something I think about a lot is how young the characters in My Hero Academia are. Like, it's easy to forget that the main cast is filled with teenagers and early 20-somethings. They're kids.

Anyway, I guess this is what I'm writing about for the next few days so uh. Yeah.

So you're prepared for him to look down his nose at you and give you the same cold denial that he gives everyone else but...

He blinks slowly, processing your request, then shrugs and just says

"Sure, but I'm picking where we go."

It turns out that he already had plans to go to a science museum that weekend and just decided to take you along for the hell of it

He buys you ramen after at his favorite place and walks you home

You press a quick kiss to his cheek before going inside, just to see how he reacts

He rubs the back of his neck, then itches the inside of his ear, then he just grins at you with red cheeks, then admits that he'd been wondering for the last hour if you'd let him kiss you

You're inseparable from that night onwards

He's not always available, but he makes up for it during the time you are together

Gets rather smug if you shut him up by kissing him

Pre-petrification, Byakuya loved you, and asked Senku how you were doing all the time

Taiju and Yuzuriha also both love you and are always so excited when you join the three of them on an outing

Will give you surprise kisses at random times regardless as to if you're in a conversation with someone or working on something he really will just lean over, press his lips to yours, then go right back to whatever you were both doing

Literally does not have a jealous bone in his body (this is a lie told by Senku)

(How else do you explain the time a guy who made a move on you in high school ended up with a homemade glitter bomb in his locker that shit was everywhere for WEEKS)

(And don't get me started on Ryusui that man has gone through the wringer just for looking at you in that way)

Let's you lay in his bed while he works next to you

You often wake up the next morning with his face in your chest, arms and legs all tangled (he doesn't do it on purpose he swears)

Will often just lean on you like a cat if he's feeling tired or stressed

Loves the way you smell and does everything in his power to recreate your favorite perfumes/colognes/scented washes in the stone world

Loves it when you're just as much a chaos goblin as him

Holds your hand whenever you go somewhere together (especially post petrification)

Remembers! Your! Birthday! And! Anniversary!

Not the biggest party guy, but will go all out just for you

After reviving from the petrification, Senku will sometimes come and lay with his head on your chest just to hear your heartbeat in the silence of the new world

He's desperate for normalcy and you are the only one he thinks can truly give him what he needs to keep it together

Your first time was probably before the moon mission lets be so real here

Neither of you had been in a rush before or after the petrification, but now there was a possibility he wasn't coming back

There is extensive conversation beforehand about what to do to make sure you're both safe and smart

It's quick, it's a little awkward, but it's perfect nonetheless

Once he's back home, he makes sure to do it again with you as soon as possible

And then never stops

Has a surprisingly high sex drive, though his average at best stamina means there has to be breaks between rounds

Ryusui x Miryuu

A match made in heaven honestly

“Mir-chan!”

She looks up from what she’s doing at the sound of Ryusui’s voice, her heart fluttering when she sees him running right to her with one of those big grins on his face. 

“Hey, Ryusui!” She says when he stops in front of her. He was breathing hard, he must have run all the way from the ship to get to her. How very like him, she thinks. When he wants something or to be somewhere, he makes it happen no matter what. 

“I have a gift!” He says. 

“For who?”

“You, of course!” 

She blinks at him, head tilting a little in confusion. She hadn’t asked him for anything before he left, that she can recall. She stands, holding out her hand for whatever he has to give her, only for him to shake his head. 

“No, you need to close your eyes,” He says

“Why?” She asks.

“Because I don’t want you to see it until it’s in your hand, of course!” He says, grinning at her.

There’s something in the way he’s standing, in the way his tone comes out a little shaky, that feels off. But she can’t quite put a pin in what it was. Could Ryusui be nervous? No, that’s not possible, he was never nervous. 

Closing her eyes, she wiggles the fingers of her outstretched hand, encouraging him to just give her what he has. She hears him take a breath then the rustle of a hand digging in a pocket. He mumbles something under his breath she doesn’t quite catch, then the tips of his fingers set something small into the palm of her hand. 

“Okay,” He says quietly. “Open.” 

She opens her eyes, inspecting the object that she’s been given.

It’s a ring, with an aquamarine gemstone in the middle. The band of the ring wrapped around the stone like waves on the sea, and had several smaller yellow gemstones set into it. The stones were no doubt lab grown, as she wasn’t sure where they would have found natural aquamarine in the stone world, but even still, it was beautiful. She could tell that a lot of careful care and craftsmanship had gone into making it. 

She looks up, lips parting to tell him what she thought of the ring, only to find him no longer standing in front of her. Instead, he was kneeling. Waiting patiently for her to give him her attention once more. 

“What…are you doing?” She asks, heart leaping out of her chest. There was no way he was doing what she thought he was doing. Not in a million billion years, was he about to ask her-

“Miryuu Capitana, will you marry me?” 

She stares at him, eyes wide. Was this real, or was she dreaming? Had he seriously just asked her to marry him? But-

“W-why?” She asks in her shock. 

“Because I want you,” He says it like it’s the most obvious thing in the world. 

“You want everyone!” 

“Not like this.” 

Miryuu looks between him and the ring, taking in the style and size of it. It was small and simple, nothing like what you’d expect to be given as an engagement ring from the Ryusui Nanami. And yet, it was perfect. It had her birthstone in the middle surrounded by an imitation of the waves encrusted with his birthstone. It was meant specially for her, to show just how intertwined the two of them always were, and always would be. 

No one else would ever be given something like this from him. Money, sure, but nothing this intimate. Nothing this special. Only she was being given that opportunity. 

“I- Ryusui-” 

“Please.” 

That startles her even more. Ryusui only pleaded with maybe two other people, and even then it was rare. Extremely, extremely rare. 

He was being serious, and he was showing her in every possible way he could think of. There was no wide grin, no laughter. Just a serious looking Ryusui, a ring, and his question. 

“Yes,” She finally breathes. “Yes, I will marry yo-”

She’s in his arms being spun around before she can even finish her acceptance. Ryusui was laughing now, excited and purely happy. She can’t help laughing too, wrapping her arms around him and pressing a few kisses into his hair. 

“We’re going to have the perfect wedding!” He declares. “Only the best for my wife!” 

Wife. She was about to become his wife.

They both have nightmares

Senku, arguably, gets more

But that's just because a lot of his trauma is far more recent and still fresh in his mind, whereas Tsukasa's is older and has had more time to be processed

But regardless, nightmares do happen

And when they do, these two somehow always find each other

Whether it's Tsukasa finding Senku anxiously working on something in the dead of night when the memory of having his neck snapped resurfaces again

Or it's Senku finding Tsukasa training in order to tire himself back out after a particularly vivid dream of the day he found out his sister may never wake back up

They always radiate to each other

They don't talk about it right away

But instead, they talk about everything else.

Senku rambles on and on about space, and how the Earth is wobbly while Tsukasa listens

and Tsukasa reminisces about the things he actually misses, while Senku makes a mental list of what he can and can't make with the materials they have on hand

Standing in the lab, bathed in soft candlelight

They lean on each other, allowing for a rare moment of platonic intimacy between them that no one else gets to see

That's when the truth comes out

They listen to each other, not saying a word until each has finished

"Damn, I guess we're both pretty screwed," Senku tries to make a joke, but it falls flat. Tsukasa chuckles anyway.

"I suppose so. But at least we're screwed together," He says.

Senku curls his nose, but his voice is soft, thick with emotion he refuses to show.

"Better together than separate, I guess," He says. Tsukasa chuckles again, before letting his face take on a more serious look, one he knows Senku won't ignore.

"I'm serious. Despite everything we've gone through, I'm glad you're here with me, Senku."

In a rare moment of pure honesty, Senku sighs.

"Yeah. Me too, Tsukasa. I'd rather it be you than anyone else."
